#(this is more of a general PSA regarding my own blog but tbh this is definitely an issue within this fan base overall and like Yeah)

Yes, my ask was entirely in good faith and with the aim to get a PSA out to the fandom. I have more I'd like to say but not the time to say it, unfortunately.
I will just quickly state that I used the Lucifer theory as my example solely because it was the most recent and causing the most discourse right now. I have also seen some earnestly and genuinely insisting Neil is lying and intends it to be canon. Those are the people my comment is aimed at, as well as anyone earnestly saying they should send him the "Magic Trick" theory. Or the Raphael theory, which he has already seen and debunked multiple times. Or the "Time Stop" theory, which I believe is why he's been asked twice now about the clock during the Final Fifteen. Once more I will say, as a general PSA to the fandom, do not put any fan theory in Neil's line of sight. Keep it to your own blogs, as you yourself did with your separate posts on the Lucifer theory. Otherwise all you (general) do is ruin the fun for everyone else, in several ways.
hi again anon✨ thank you for the clarification, i appreciate that. my response came across quite pissy (and i won't pretend that i didn't intend some small measure of that, the whole debunk fiasco, whilst funny, has had my hackles raised since last night), but i am sorry you got the brunt of it. understanding tone and intention can be difficult on here✨
you're absolutely right re: the arguing back that neil - the author, screenwriter, and showrunner - is lying is not the way to go about things. look - if by some slim, slim chance he is? cool. if he isn't, as i imagine to be the case? we will get something even better than what we imagined. i genuinely trust that. it's a win-win for us either way you slice it.
re: the other theories; tbh i wouldn't be surprised if neil has at least seen some of them. maybe not these ones, maybe so, but it would stand to reason that he has. but that is his risk to take, and completely his choice. so yes, i completely second you in that regard - the fandom should not take that choice away from him.
ask questions about the show, if you spot errors, etc., yes sure! and if the answer supports your theory, take it back to your blog and discuss it there! but don't send theories, don't send fic, don't send anything that could land him in hot water, directly into his inbox. if he wishes to rb or like anything that contains a theory etc, that's up to him. but don't remove the choice✨
once again anon, sorry for my shitty tone in the last ask, but hope you got where i was coming from in the grand scheme of things. sometimes fandom politics is A Lot.
#good omens#not a shitpost but its good omens babyyyy#ask#i appreciate anon coming back to clarify that was nice of them💕#i felt like i had majorly stepped out of line in my lucifer theory shitposting when i didnt think i had and so the teeth got bared#edit: and actually now that ive cooled off a bit im actually pretty honoured that anon considered this small shot blog#to be the place to get this opinion and sakd PSA out into the fandom (assuming they haven't sent a similar thing to anyone else -#maybe they have?) but yeah im humbled that they felt this was the place to do it so thank you thats quite something✨💕

Shipping saiki with anyone is aro/ace phobic it is clearly implied he doesn't feel any attraction to anyone the closest thing we got was when he became obsessed with someone not even romantic
Uuuuuh??? Ok???? I'm not sure if you're trying to call me out for something or if this is just supposed to be a general PSA that you're coming to my blog to get out there, but I'm gonna try to dissect this from every angle I can think of.
First of all, if you're trying to accuse me, I myself am incredibly aro ace and am fucking so grateful for the representation. That's so hard to find and is part of the reason I was drawn to the show.
I know I've reblogged a few posts regarding the Saiki and Satou ship in the past, but I don't actually ship it myself. If I'm reblogging content regarding the ship it really has more to do with the dynamics surrounding it that I think are fun concepts. Usually related to how his powers affect his ability to form relationships in one way or another. Honestly I'd like to see all these concepts in the light of a QPR or something could be cool and more accurate representation. It's not like ace aro people can't love at all. They just aren't attracted to people's physical appearances
I think it's incredibly important to acknowledge that he's aroace, but the thing is... most people aren't aroace and those people are going to have a tendency to instinctively pair characters off in their heads without thinking about it. Especially when one of those characters is explicitly shown to be obsessed (your own words) with another character. If someone wants to explore those dynamics that's fine with me, as long as they aren't actually actively rooting for these ships to occur in canon. Shipping something doesn't necessarily mean you want the relationship between characters to happen in the actual franchise. The whole concept of shipping is kind of complicated tbh. But as long as someone is making content about how Saiki is aro ace in canon while also creating side concepts regarding the possibility of possibly dynamics, I don't see a big problem with it
The next point I have is something I'm kind of conflicted on myself. That's the point of cupioromanticism and romance neutral aromantics. I myself love to refer to myself as "very aro" but I was calling myself that even as I was in a relationship. It's possible to be aromantic and in a romantic relationship. The conflicting part is that a lot of people use that as an excuse to ship aro characters and completely disregard their orientation. But it's a whole lot more complicated than that. I consider myself mostly romance neutral (which is the aromantic equivalent of being a sex neutral asexual, which is probably more commonly known and understood) but I still had very strict boundaries about it when I was in my relationships, and I didn't always have the energy to keep up with my partners. My most notable relationship was an open relationship so my partner could fill in the blanks, because I have a fairly low romantic threshold if we did something particularly romantically investive I would need to straight up take a break from the relationship altogether. Just a few days to recuperate and reenergize.
Basically my last point (that last paragraph) comes down to "You can totally be in a romantic relationship and be aro, but a lot of people use that knowledge to ignore a canon minority and essentially demonstrate erasure."
Not to bring in a completely separate media franchise into this, but Bojack Horseman did a really good job at explaining some of this stuff in regards to their asexual character. They dive into how asexual people can be in romantic relationships, but not all asexuals want to. Some are also aro. And while it is in passing, they mention that some asexuals do have and enjoy sex. This doesn't explore all these concepts and ways people experience these things in depth, but it does open up every angle, leaving all of the other ways people can experience these things on the table and easily able to be figured out by an audience of people new to these concepts if they just think about it for a minute. But they keep it well defined where the character stands and how his asexuality affects his relationships and how it complicates things.
All of that is to say, shipping culture is super weird, but as long as someone is very vocal and supportive of the fact Saiki is in fact aro ace, I would allow the allos a little bit of shipping content. As a treat. Just don't ignore his practically confirmed identity just to get all mushy on a character who would hate that.
But honestly, I don't see much of a need to ship Saiki with much of anyone when Shun and Aren are right there.

Does fandom intimidate you, or make you critical of your portrayal? Do you have any irrational doubts in what you are doing? Do you prefer public or private roleplay? Does this preference change when writing NSFW and smut? Does your descriptive writing change with each muse, do they influence the way that you narrate and use language?Does your OOC change with each muse, do they influence the way you generally behave?
Munday Styles and Preferences
11. Do you prefer public or private roleplay? Does this preference change when writing NSFW and smut?
I honestly don’t have a strong preference either way, tbh! I’ve done both before multiple times, but private feels more lax, I guess? Less pressure to get things done since you know other people aren’t reading to the threads, and it’s easier to write about certain content without needing to worry about tum.blr coming in and screwing things up sdfjghfdsj
for sm.ut/ns.fw content, I haven’t really written enough to form a decision on that? I’ve done that both in a public and private writing setting (here and dis.cord), but I guess I do feel a little more comfortable writing it in private settings? Just because I less pressure to make the situation perfect dfjhdfg - ns.fw/sm.ut themes are new-ish to me, so it’s less pressure to make it sound good, if that makes sense? But overall, I honestly don’t mind either way sdfgjfd
12. Does your descriptive writing change with each muse, do they influence the way that you narrate and use language?
yes! But mainly because my writing is more heavy with how a character reacts/perceives something, versus describing something like the environment. Each character is going to react differently and perceive things differently, so their thought process/headspace is absolutely gonna influence the way I write. Take Carter and Maya, for example! Carter has this guilt complex, so her narrative can focus easily on that. She’s overly empathetic but hard on herself, and it shows with the way I write how she responds to her own actions or to someone else. With Maya, however, she’s learned to internalize a majority of what she’s feeling and will shut herself off to avoid getting emotionally involved, so her responses tend to be less emotionally-driven, and more her mentally calculating what to do next. Which, as an example, you can see here!
13. Does your OOC change with each muse, do they influence the way you generally behave?
not that I’ve noticed! Like, as an example, even if I were to write a villain with full bad morals, I’d still be keysmashing away ooc fsdgjhsdfgjh
if anything, I notice I do behave differently on my rp blogs versus my meme blog, only because with my meme blog, I have a bunch of followers I don’t know whatsoever. On my rp blogs, I know my mutuals, even if just through their about/rules page, but with the meme blog, I don’t really interact with anyone unless I get a message in my inbox, and I try to keep ooc stuff as minimal as possible. And, when I do write ooc stuff, it’s usually to answer a question/general reply/psa post, so I need to be more concise with my answer
16. Does fandom intimidate you, or make you critical of your portrayal? Do you have any irrational doubts in what you are doing?
mmm... not really, tbh! I’ve been in the mcu fandom for years, and I have past experience rping in it, so I don’t really feel much intimidation anymore from that perspective. I’m still anxious as usual lol, but I’m definitely more comfortable doing my own thing! With my portrayal, since Carter’s an oc, I don’t really have to worry about that, but I do worry about how I portray canon characters in her info pages, which is why I try to leave little info regarding them to give more flexibility to other writers! Plus, I’ve definitely carved out my own lil corner on here, so I can avoid feeling intimidated or overly-critical of myself fdsghjfdsh
for irrational doubts, I,,, don’t think so? I think I have the similar general doubts any other writers have, but I can’t think of anything otherwise off of the top of my head!
