The only fictional TV show airing that actually matters.
Out of around 350 people who work on the show, approximately 260 of them are veterans. (According to Tyler Grey and Justin Melnick, a retired DELTA force veteran and police officer.)
That’s just about 3/4 of the entire cast and production, guys.
SEAL Team not only depicts Military operations as accurately as Hollywood allows, but touches on so many different dynamics and perspectives in regards to military life. Above all else, to me, SEAL Team is a show about family... a blended family, if you will; between the brotherhood, and the family they serve to protect. This shows covers issues about cultural sensitivity, veteran care, and brings awareness on so many levels about things like TBI, the sacrifices both the military and their families at home endure, as well as the people abroad affected by wars they never asked to be a part of...
This show matters.
Other serials and reality shows are great entertainment, sure, but the stories this show tells MATTER.
