i visited the Centrum Ronde van Vlaanderen in Oudenaarde this spring; they had an exhibit about SDworx -- of which a small part was this table comparing their team structure & budget to Visma (as a comparably dominant team in 2023), which i thought would be interesting to share:

#relatedly: lizzie deignan on la course de gossip said her first pro contract was €300/month #anyway. 4milly for the ENTIRE sdw budget when there are many male riders who get paid more than that as INDIVIDUALS...#it's time to eradicate men's pro sports.#/joking. well. not completely. the massive inequality has to be addressed #and based flanders classics equalising their prize money is a step forward #and the semi-recent introduction of a WWT minimum wage #that has been going up every year. currently €38000/year AFAIK #(men's cycling has a minimum wage in the WT & ProTeams too)#but outside the WWT many pros still have to have second jobs to be able to support their careers.#as with all women's sport the investment has to go into the lower levels too!!#the entire system has to be supported and i'm very glad that it is happening #in the aforementioned deignan discussion she talks about how much women's cycling has changed since she started #sports #cycling #women's sports
