the end of the y.ushi war was the worst but in a... idk if you want to say twisted way?, yushi.huang found 'freedom in death', even though she ascended and didn't die. pei.ming never intended for it to happen to her (everyone forgets it was her father that was supposed to!!??!! and pei.ming feels guilty about IT), she's not angry at him for it, and she was freed of the hell she was born into.
