tiktok people have been doing this thing where they've started blocking celebrities who haven't come out in support of Palestine which like, sure that's cool we love standing with Palestine here, but back when I still had a twitter account every time I saw a sponsored tweet I'd block the account that posted it which kind of makes me feel like I'm in pretty solid "I was curating my social media experience in as anti-capitalist way as possible before it was cool" ground

#my diary #blocking sponsored accounts was such a high for me too #it was like one of the few things that kept me on twitter for so long #it also had the fun knock-on effect of my sponsored posts getting weirder and more niche over time #like you start with apple and google and disney and shit #but eventually you block all the corpos and you start getting things like #random dudes from the global south paying to promote their tweets just to see where they end up #(I think he was from bangladesh but I still think about him from time to time)#(he was my first exception to the rule of 'block all sponsored post accounts' cuz like. he was literally just some guy)#(and the post made me laugh)
