Conveniently, this Friday is Valentine's Day, and so I'm spicing up your playlists with some Valentine's themed Songs-to-go!

If this is the first time you've heard of it, hello and welcome! Song-To-Go is a weekly song poll released every Friday where I present you with new, lesser-known songs to listen to while you scroll. (I haven't always been great at the 'weekly' part ik)

I got you covered.

I feel putting Fontaines on here is almost unfair, at least in my personal circles. Also, I've gone with Grian's exaggerated portrait of sick and all-consuming love, rather than the seemingly obvious choice, I Love You. But I guess, if you choose to spend Valentine's Day with the proud and glorious nation of Ireland, then go right ahead and use that song. Also the new album is literally called Romance. But I'd urge you to definitely listen to all the rest of the artists on this list too, because Valentine's Day can't be complete with just one song, surely!?

This week, I've got you soulful neo-jazz from Montreal, London indie pop, one of the most devastating new Canadian softer indie (think Boygenius) bands I've heard, new Brazilian riot grrl (though iirc Karen's now moved to the UK so lucky UK folks, you can catch her live), the most poetic and devastating Irish post punk band, beautiful-voiced chill Irish indie rock (though check out her harp work on Emptiness Follows, holy fuck), and London's newest face of indie sleaze 2.0.
