i really don't understand how anyone who loves jude can hate taryn. i mean they're cut from the same cloth. they are both consumed by desire, by want, by longing, and both do cruel things to get to where they want because they feel like they're less, they both feel like they constantly have to prove their worth to everyone around them. they're also both haunted by the murder of their parents and their actions are shaped by that huge event, it's only that jude focuses on aspect of it that is the fact of the brutal murder and taryn focuses on the love that caused it all to happen.

#it's like you all think you're jude and taryn personally betrayed you #i mean they're both daughters of the people who most likely killed a pregnant woman and betrayed a husband and a friend #none of them are normal #they all betray and cause harm and lie and want more #sure taryn is a sneaky little creature and jude usually seems like a blunt instrument #but we're talking about the girl who spied and murdered for a prince who betrayed her father figure who was thrilled by kissing her enemy #and having him in her power #(also we all have to remember that power and holding power over someone you're in love with are frequent themes for holly black)#(becuase not for nothing did kaye tell roiben to lick silarial's hand like a dog that he is when she felt betrayed by him)#anyway all of the characters from her faerie worlds are slightly evil and that's what we (i) love about them and taryn is no worse #the cruel prince #the folk of the air
