Since Delphox’s fur has grown out to resemble a long robe, storing its stick in its tail fur isn’t really that practical anymore. Thankfully, evolution has given it a set of long “sleeves” to go with its “robe”, so like any good mage Delphox keeps its wand in its sleeve to pull it out dramatically later!

Delphox doesn't actually command its fire with magic, but it instead harnesses psychic power to cause its flames to swirl into a powerful vortex! But since it looks a heck of a lot like magic, this particular move earned the name Mystical Fire! (And once again, it lost its signature move status after ORAS came out...)
