trump's executive order about dei programs startled me because i forgot about alabamafication, like oh shit right thats not a normal policy they just tested it on my home state first to see if ppl would put up with it before they made it national. and ppl were forced to put up with it

#shout out sb129 #shout out alabamafication #if yall wanna know what this presidency will be like look to alabama #btw the state legislature passed one of the strictest anti immigrant policies in the country like a decade ago #yknow what happened?#undocumented ag workers fled the state and farmers started complaining that they couldnt hire anyone #so the state sent in prison inmates to work #and the farmers complained that the prisoners werent good at it bc they didnt try hard enough #so like not only will the ice raids hurt immigrants but it will hurt the ppl who voted for them to happen #bc our entire ag industry relies on undocumented and exploited workers #(also i hope that doesnt read like im saying 'yeah itll hurt immigrants but more importantly it will hurt white ppl' bc i promise thats not #what im trying to say. my point is the hypocrisy and lack of planning by bigots #and the fact that nobody learned from the horrible example they made of immigrants in AL)
