Now that AOT is over, I just want to mention that when I first heard about this series over a decade again my first thought was that it was a sci-fi series and that the Titans were actually sentient space colonies the main cast could take control of that could transform and beat the shit out of each other For Whatever Reason Hajime no Ippo style.

Imagine my disappointment when I watched the first episode and found out this was not the case.

#i haven't kept up with the series since the clash of the titans arc in the manga #with the focus on utgard castle #but i do know about everything else that proceeded afterwards #the series really went in a...direction #probably not in as good of a direction as it would appear on paper but a direction nonetheless #(actually i would say eren's direction in the latter half is an even bigger direction)#(but that's a whole thing on its own and i think other ppl can explain it better than i can atm)#but uh yeah ig the titans would arguably fit the mecha mold of the NGE flesh-type variety #so that counts...i think?#yeah let's go with that #tbh i like my idea better - we need more sci-fi!#attack on titan
