{ ☆ } Solution? Honestly, Varian hasn’t yet thought of one to their unfortunate problem. He had been more focused on ensuring that he wasn’t just imagining it. It wouldn’t surprise him if all this fresh air and full night’s rest had sent his mind into shock. It’s not as if his body is used to being treated this kindly, after all. Well, aside from having decent food. It’s still very much lacking that. As his fellow competitor has just confirmed. “Weeeeeell… I’m guessing you want a solution that involves us actually receiving sustenance.” He jokingly responds in a hushed whisper, giving Noah a light nudge with his elbow; hoping the other guy doesn’t mind the playful touch. At the very least, Varian knows that he won’t take a swing at him like some of the others would. “So, just going the day without eating is out of the question.”
Honestly, that’d be Varian’s go-to solution. It’d hardly be the first day he’s gone without food. But, he’s not the only person at risk of losing a meal. Noah needs food. So food, Noah shall get. “Just give me a minute…” He mutters in a drawn-out tone, brows furrowing in thought as he rests his arms on the table. Propping up an elbow, cheek goes to rest on his hand as he thinks. Lightly nibbling his bottom lip, vivid blue eyes are riveted on the table (purposely avoiding looking at his tray) as he mulls over their situation. “What if weeeeeee… Swipe some better food?” Questioning gaze flickers over to Noah as he sits up and gives a small shrug. It’s a simple solution, sure… But sometimes the simplest solution is the best one.
Voice hushed, Varian discreetly slides closer to his fellow competitor as he continues, “I’ve seen others sneak into the kitchen when Chef wasn’t around. If they can do it, we certainly can…” Normally, Varian prefers to use more sound logic. But in this case, he’s willing to leap to assumptions. If it means spending time with an actually enjoyable (and cute) teammate... The chance of food is just a nice bonus. “What do you say? Wanna pilfer the kitchen with me?” He asks, tone holding a hint of excitement and a brow playfully raised. { ☆ }

AU where Quirin takes and raises Eugene after the DK falls
•| Send me a potential AU and I’ll tell you five fun facts |•
Oh you have no idea how much this enables me - I stand by Quirin raising Eugene until the end of time bc it’s what they BOTH deserve
1) Oki so, here we see Eugene taken away as a baby without disclosing an EXACT location — that will not stop Quirin though, who had a stance against cutting him off completely despite it being Edmunds orders [It made sense to send the boy away but to send him to an ORPHANAGE was another story] Quirin finds Eugene a month or so after they get separated, during that time he found a house and a stable farm to raise a kid on [Gotta have an income] and then promptly goes to the orphanage and adopts Eugene.
By then, Eugene’s name has already been changed and frankly... Quirin thinks it suits him, though he occasionally slips up and calls him Horace. He feels a duty to raise the Prince but also kinda has a “My son now” mentality! Disagrees with Edmunds choices + decides... His kingdom is doomed, so he’s gonna ensure Eugene gets a stable upbringing with KNOWLEDGE of the Dark Kingdom without necessarily telling him “Oh BTW you’re the prince”. Being a father is hard and he struggles a lot, esp in early days, it’s a whole new challenge from being a knight but... Not one he really regrets?
Cue some fluff! Knight-dad trying to raise a baby and establish a life in a new country — Over time he grows and becomes Village Leader + Develops a bond with the monarchs based on his knowledge and previous high-rank in society from being a knight! Gets offered a guard position but turns it down in favour of spending time with his toddler son. Eugenes first word is Dada and Quirins never felt so content. Baby fluff of Eugenes milestones — Quirin has Eugene helping on the fields as soon as he can toddle without tripping (tho it’s mostly Eugene playing and running around while Quirin works) Toddler Eugene is a little darling and knows exactly how to use his cuteness to get praise and sweets
2) Eugene starts thievery / acting out soon after Quirin dates and marries Ulla, though it soon become a hobby he usually indulges in with his friend Arnie [though they take on the names of the coolest book characters Flynn Rider and Lance Strongbow!] Quirin thinks it’s just a phase and leans into the whole calling Eugene ‘Flynn’ because... He really loves the books, that’s not too odd? Though he doesn’t know of crimes + just thinks they go out to play a lot. Eugene ignored Ulla for the first few weeks because he doesn’t like the idea of someone new staying around — He doesn’t hate her, it just raises a lot of questions about his mum that Quirin doesn’t know how to answer... He resolved on the explaination that she was very sick and couldn’t take care of him anymore, though loved him dearly it’s enough to placate him.
Eugene doubles down on stealing when he’s 10 and suddenly there’s gonna be a new baby in the house. [He doesn’t WANT a sibling + worries Quirin will love the baby more than him since he knows he’s adopted & all that though is too scared to ask] Eugene grows an attitude and Quirin finds himself exhausted and constantly caught in petty bickers as Eugene keeps running away + acting up, especially to his wife (Who loves Eugene very much, of course) ‘Flynn’ declares he wants to travel the world and be far away from step-mums and nasty babies, uhhh Domestic fall out stuff?
Things change when baby gets here and suddenly Eugene is a big brother and Quirin is MORE distracted, sometimes they forget to even read him a story and he can’t stand the squirmy little creature... All it does is cry and take what little attention his misbehaviour had earned him... So naturally, petty crime continues + Eugene starts caring less about getting caught, so it becomes more risky. He and Lance befriend some bad influences and start taking Big Kid Crime. It’s fun! Until Eugene is brought home by a guard and Quirin gives him the silent treatment for the next week. Quirin... He loves his sons, both of them, but he just isn’t sure how to handle a distressed 11 year old and a baby, it feels like there’s not enough hours in the day and Eugene is SET on making life harder for everyone.
Eugene stays against ‘Varian’, frequently makes the baby the villain in his games and makes him cry on several occasions. It gets even worse when he starts crawling bc now he can’t get anytime alone, it’s just frustrating! The solution probably comes when Varians starting to talk and he says ‘Oo-gee’ as one of his first words — ‘Lisa’s first word’ style — and Quirin and Ulla admit that Varian is obsessed with Eugene. It’s sorta a wake up call for Eugene to start trying to get along with the kid, and it works! He finds it fun to teach him things & have someone to talk to (even if he just babbles back) By the time Eugene is 12 he’s calling Ulla mum and love spending time with his little brother
3) Right! When Eugene is about 18 he picks up theiving again, mostly because he isn’t suited to the farm life and it’s easy money (Plus how else is he gonna achieve his dream of financial independence?) He moves out the farm under the guise of finding a new life with his best friend, though they quickly realise it’s not amazing when they get tangled up with the Baron + his antics. Eugene visits home every so often and claims everything is fine, it’s going great, he doesn’t need any extra help + his life is just dandy. His dishonesty mostly bc he doesn’t wanna worry Quirin and there’s been a bit of a strain since Ulla passed away.
Life keeps on like this. Eugene ages, steals alchemy supplies for Varian and hides his true income source because he wants to make Quirin and Varian proud! Varian grows up to be more headstrong in what he wants because he has someone standing up for him and telling him he’s proud, though the longer Eugene spends away the harder it gets? He loves it when Eugenes here! But the house feels empty without him, and Quirin is so busy + stressed from Varians experiments that there’s still that desire to do more, prove himself.
4) Movie diverts a bit! Eugene finds out about the hair glow and thinks... If one person knows about this then it’s him, and takes Rapunzel to Old Corona over night rather than a campfire. Varian is ecstatic to see him though gets confused by a random girl Eugene claims to have just found — He’s about to ask questions when Eugene asks if Varian could do his magic thing to find out about her hair. Varian insists it’s alchemy and agrees, dragging Raps down into the lab! Boop gothel talks to her when Varians gathering all the equipment and talks her ear off about how cool Eugene is and asks how they found each other since the story is weird... Experiements start!
Meanwhile Eugene is talking to Quirin, when Quirin pulls out a wanted poster and puts it on the table. He finally found out about how bad Eugenes crimes are and wants answers. Now. Eugene sits and tries to explain its not what it looks like, but Quirin doesn’t wanna hear it. The disappointment is evident and Quirin criticises “I thought you grew out of this, what role model is this for Varian?” Eugene doesn’t have an answer but argues his case that it was to be reliant — and he doesn’t wanna do it anymore anyway! Quirin accuses him of using the girl, while Eugene insists her name is Rapunzel and he’s just helping her, get the crown, be set for life and never have to bother him again.
Their argument is cut short by a Varian coming back upstairs looking frazzled, says there’s something about the magic that’s familiar but he can’t place it — sure is strong tho, and continues gushing and asking Eugene for all the details of what he’s been up to. Eugene... Explains, his usual light-hearted rendition of a great quest, while Quirin leaves and stays upstairs the rest of the night.
Varian sees them off in the morning! Hours after they’re gone Vari is still looking into the magic thing — that’s when he remembers the old legend about a sundrop... about how it saved the Queen... About the Princess. Varian sneaks out the house and heads up to the lantern festival to tell Eugene and Rapunzel his revelation, but he gets there just as Eugene is being lead away by guards. Varian finds Max and tells him how they need to free Eugene + basically... Helps him escape with fewer pub thugs and more alchemy. When they get to the tower Eugene tells Varian to stay on the floor and climbs up to help Raps - Varian stays at the bottom of the tower for approx 10 minutes before finding the back entrance and climbing up. Figure he gets there just as Gothel deages, it’s suddenly and before anyone knows it Varian is the one pushing her out the window bc he saw a stabbed Eugene and put two and two together. Then! Cue New Dream scene, except Varian is sitting on the floor in shock a distance away... After New Dream hug Eugene looks at him and Varian admits that “Ok, magic isn’t that bad”
5) Oh god the series! First off — Raps is closer with Varian in this (that’s becoming a theme...) so doesn’t just throw him out into the blizzard when he comes asking for help. Instead he and Eugene go back to Old Corona together after the storm, Varian isolates himself from guilt + has a tough time dealing with what happened, but he lives in the castle as Eugene starts getting angrier with the king and wants answers for what happened. He’s the one that finds Dark Kingdom stuff and he and Varian work on it together... Eugene has a suspicion he came from the Dark Kingdom so when the rocks start pointing there he’s like dope!
No villain Varian joins them on the trek to the Dark Kingdom + it’s all fun and games, Eugene tries to get more answers from Adira as they travel but she says it’s not her place to say... All he needs to know is the kingdom fell, and everyone was evacuated... She’s almost annoyed as she explains it, then Hector is treble annoyed when he finds out Eugene was raised by QUIRIN since that went against the direct orders... Though Adira defends it and says he was doing his duty of keeping Eugene safe, it’s basically a rift between them that’s confusing until they get to the DK and the revelation happens.
I feel... Moongene could be a thing in this AU? but since I’m running out of points I’ll leave it with Cass taking her canon role! I will point out! when Quirin is freed initially only Varian runs into his arms... Eugene hadn’t really spoken to Quirin properly since their movie fallout & he’s not sure he belongs... Until Quirin holds and arm out to him and pulls him into the hug too (PARALLLELS) and we get a happy reunited family (tho with some issues to work out regarding somethings... they need to rebuild trust, but work on it slowly. Edmund stays ‘Edmund’ to Eugene. He sees Quirin as his father & doesn’t push as much to reconnect with Edmund... Though that makes it easier in a way. There’s less pressure once Edmund understands and they form a friendship, but Quirin is Dad 100% (Sometimes Edmund gets called Dad 2))

Okay I’ve been on one heck of an analysis high so let’s get into it!
Team Awesome Analysis
Part 1: Season 1 Relationship
In season 1, Varian and Eugene’s relationship isn’t much. In “What the Hair,” obviously the two just met, but Varian spends the episode idolizing Eugene for being “Flynn Rider” and trying to impress him, and Eugene tries to get Rapunzel’s secret out of Varian, and later tries to get him to turn off his dangerous hot water machines.
When they first meet, Eugene is flattered that Varian says “Flynn Rider is his hero,” but then immediately feels very awkward around him because Varian doesn’t listen when Eugene explains that he only adopted the name from the book, and the stories aren’t actually about him. It also doesn’t help matters that Varian keeps calling him “Flynn,” even though Eugene has told him multiple times that it isn’t his name anymore.
Right off the bat, you get the vibe that Eugene doesn’t trust this kid and is frankly frustrated with him. Varian is unintentionally putting everyone in danger through his hot water machines, and he won’t listen to Eugene when he tells him that it isn’t safe. To make matters worse, Eugene has also seen a glimpse of the destruction that Varian’s machines and experiments can cause because of the lazer sword, the explosives, and the tremors caused by the hot water machines. Seeing his girlfriend actually inside of one of Varian’s contraptions is probably adding to his anxiety, and he wants to get everyone as far away from this dangerous kid as possible. Eugene still cares about Varian however, but it’s only in a “he’s a kid who needs protection” kind of way.
When Varian shows up for the expo in “Great Expotations,” Eugene definitely isn’t too happy to see him (“...since your last invention almost killed us! So glad you’re here. With what looks like another invention.”). The explosion at Varian’s lab could have killed both Rapunzel and Eugene, if it wasn’t for Raps’ hair, and it was probably very traumatizing for Eugene as well. When Varian’s invention for the expo goes off the rails, (even though it isn’t his fault) Eugene is probably on even higher alert in regards to Varian.
Jumping all the way to “The Quest For Varian,” when Rapunzel talks about her dream, Eugene is very quick to say “stay here where you’re safe.” And when Rapunzel gets a note from Varian asking for her help, Eugene is very suspicious. (“It’s always something with that guy.”) He has no right to be suspicious, even though he may have heard the rumors from Nigel, because he heard from Rapunzel that Varian only wanted her help during the storm. Eugene also has no idea about Varian’s turn to villainy. Even when Eugene sees Varian’s father trapped in the amber, he’s still very critical.
In “The Alchemist Returns” when Eugene finds out that Varian is with Rapunzel, he’s just quick to think that “Rapunzel could be in trouble,” and he doesn’t seem surprised at Varian’s turn either since he already didn’t trust him.
Another thing to note is that whenever Eugene talks about or mentions Varian, it’s usually to criticize him even when he’s on the right side.
Part 2: Season 3 Relationship
In season 3, when we see Varian come back as a full fledged villain, Eugene is obviously defensive when Rapunzel says that they have to work with him. (“After everything hairstripe here has done you are going to trust him?”).
But after that, something changes. Eugene seems to be way more trusting of Varian after his redemption, when in reality it seems more natural for him to be even more suspicious because of what happened before.
In “Be Very Afraid,” for example, Eugene doesn’t warn Rapunzel about how dangerous it would be if she went into the tunnels with Varian, but instead he seems completely chill with them going and isn’t suspicious of him at all.
In “Cassandra’s Revenge,” Eugene seems pretty comfortable around Varian, even enough to even touch his alchemy that Eugene probably would have stayed far away from back in season 1. Varian actually has to tell Eugene to be careful (oh the irony). Later on, when Varian is trapped in the rock cage, Eugene basically risks his life to help Varian by walking over to the cage that’s suspended in mid air. Varian also looks to Eugene as a source of comfort when the cage gets pulled in, and Eugene obliges, being very protective over him now.
In “Race to the Spire,” Eugene and Varian are acting more like friends, pranking each other and laughing with each other.
In “Flynnposter,” when Eugene is talking over him, Varian doesn’t hesitate to sass him, because he considers him as a friend instead of his “idol” who he needs to impress.
In “Once A Handmaiden” Eugene trusts Varian enough to ask/let him make a dangerous weapon because he knows Varian will be careful with it. They’re shown to be acting more like best friends, and they even have a handshake! Even when Varian is using the bazooka somewhat haphazardly, Eugene doesn’t get frustrated with him, he smiles and thinks it’s funny. He even teams up with Varian during the fight against Cassandra which shows that he trusts him enough to protect Corona.
In “Plus est en Vous,” we really get to see how far Eugene and Varian’s relationship has come when Eugene jokes about Varian’s villainy and Varian laughs along with him. This topic is very sensitive to Varian, but he’s chill enough with Eugene to joke with him about it which shows massive growth. When Eugene is concerned about Varian’s father being in the brotherhood, he warns Varian about him possibly being under the mind control. Though Varian is angry at first, he respects Eugene enough to listen to what he said and takes “precautions.” Eugene is so proud of Varian and we can see that he really values their friendship when he tries to cheer him up after Quirin gets knocked out.
Instead of criticizing him, Eugene compliments and encourages Varian throughout season 3, and really seems to connect with him now. These two really became an inseparable “team awesome.”
Part 3: What changed?
So how did Varian and Eugene become so close? Well the simplest solution would be to say that “Rapunzel trusts Varian now and Eugene trusts Rapunzel,” but technically Rapunzel trusted Varian in season 1, and we all know Eugene certainly did not. Another reason could be that Varian is older and more responsible, but I think the biggest reason that Eugene is suddenly so trusting of Varian is because he can relate to what Varian has been through.
As a kid, Eugene was already in a life of crime and thievery and it lasted all the way up into his adult life. He probably got thrown in jail multiple times too. When he met Rapunzel, he was still a theif until she gave him a second chance. Rapunzel didn’t necessarily change him, but it was Eugene’s time with her that made him truly “see the light” (pun intended.) When Eugene brings Rapunzel back to the kingdom, he doesn’t get accepted right away. Cassandra still doesn’t trust him (in season 1) and he’s still regarded as a theif in many areas, but he’s able to show them all, in time, that he’s a changed man and that he will do anything to protect his friends, Rapunzel, and all of Corona.
In Varian’s situation, he’s done a lot more than just petty thievery, but Rapunzel is willing to give him a second chance as well. Again, she didn’t change him, but she made Varian see what was the right thing to do even if it was hard. Eugene had every right to reject Varian and blame him for all of the horrible things he had done, like everyone else in Corona. But when he sees that the kid really does want to change and that Rapunzel wants to help Varian just like she helped Eugene, he gives him the benefit of the doubt.
Eugene knows first hand what Varian is going through, over the course of season 3, and how hard it is to come back from a life of crime. The least that he can do is give Varian one more friend that he can trust on his path to redemption, and encourage and help Varian to step back into the light. Because of all of this encouragement and trust from Rapunzel and Eugene, Varian is able to rise up and do amazing things to help Corona.
Eugene and Varian have a lot more in common now, both being redeemed, and they can also relate to being decended from members of the Brotherhood of the Dark Kingdom. (I bet they had a nice long talk about that 😂😂)
So in short: Varian and Eugene’s relationship has come so, so far and I’m so glad that they both trust each other now and that they became such amazing and close friends. “Alright Team Awesome!!”
Woah that was a lot!!! I’m so mad at myself for deleting it before, but the beauty of rewriting it was being able to make a more thorough analysis and find more things that I missed before! I really hope y’all enjoyed it!!

My Top 10 Favorite Tangled Season 1 Episodes!
Well guys. We finally did it. In almost a year, we braved through the entire first season of Tangled the Series, 1/3 of the story. We laughed. We cried. We got terrified and we heard many catchy songs along the way. But which ones in my opinion are my favorite episodes throughout this season? Let’s find out. P.S. Tangled: Before Ever After will not be on this list since it is considered a TV movie, but I still enjoyed it overall and it was a great way to introduce the series.
Honorable Mention: Rapunzel’s Enemy
If this was a Top 12 list, this would definitely make #11. The reason why I wanted to mention this episode is that I really love the message in it. Not everyone is going to like you and that is okay. A pretty rare message from a Disney show or movie and I think it is well appreciated. Plus, I have had moments in my life where I thought that I needed to make everyone like me, but this episode showed me that it’s okay not too. It’s puts myself as well as the audience inside Rapunzel’s shoes and I thought it was a great move. But come on! Who can not like Rapunzel? Oh yeah. Monty. But anyways, had to give this episode a mention, because of how it taught me an important lesson that I didn’t know that I needed.
10. Big Brothers of Corona
This one I thought was a fun episode, especially for Lance and Eugene. Catching a stealthy thief in Corona only to find out that they were actually two orphaned girls who they nicknamed Angry and Red. Loved how hilarious Lance and Eugene are when it comes to interacting with those two. Also, it’s great to see Eugene using his past days of thievery and try to set a good example for them. Such great character development. You can clearly tell how much he loves Rapunzel and how much he is willing to go through to make his life and others better. Hoping to to see more of Angry and Red in the future of the series.
9. Cassandra v. Eugene
Such a simple and familiar premise for TV shows, but I love how this show pulled it off. Cassandra and Eugune’s fighting and bickering ends them up in a “game” by Rapunzel forcing them to work together and settle their differences to escape. Nice that we got to hear more of Cassandra’s back story, having her and Eugene share some similarities, and have The Stabbington Brothers return for revenge. Plus, seeing Rapunzel act sinister was so cute and hilarious. Must have gotten it from Mother Gothel. Anyways, in my opinion, I had to put this episode on the list, mostly for the fact that it jump started the friendship of Eugune and Cassandra.
8. What the Hair?
Of course I had to put the first episode on this list. It introduced us one of my favorite characters in the show Varian, when he was a loyal friend before he got betrayed, showed us a new power for Rapunzel’s hair and had some great humorous moments. From Varian being Flynn Rider’s #1 fan to the number of times Flynn burst out a secret. Also, it foreshadows how dangerous Varian can be. It’s a fantastic introduction to the new series and leaves you wanting more. P.S. Mother Gothel makes a cameo in this episode. That’s a win in my book!
7. Not in the Mood
In my opinion, this is the funniest episode in the series so far. Pascal and Maximus, who only wanted to help, reversed the moods of the bickering Rapunzel, Eugene and Cassandra. What we got was a fantastic episode with hilarious comedy. Seeing our favorite trio in a whole new way had me laughing till my sides were sore, especially Cassandra. Not only that, but also seeing my favorite Disney Princess acting the complete opposite of who she is was very shocking and funny at the same time. If you ever need a laugh, this episode is just the trick to do so.
6. Pascal’s Story
I love Pascal! He is probably one of my favorite animal sidekicks in Disney history. In this episode, it shows his origins and how the friendship with him and Rapunzel formed. This episode did a great job showing how important Pascal is to Rapunzel since they gave each other company when they needed it most and how strong their friendship is. Plus, we to return to her tower ever since Gothel’s demise. Love Eugune’s line of not wanting to die in the same place twice. LOL Easily one of the best friendship stories I seen from Disney. And now to the Top 5!
5. The Wrath of Ruthless Ruth
Pretty much a Tangled Halloween special and I love it! Seeing Rapunzel, the thugs and The Captain being haunted by a ghost and forced to “listen up” was a great story. Ruthless Ruth was a fantastic character and I LOVE her animation, design and her song Listen Up. To be honest, that’s one of the reasons why this episode is high on the list. So catchy and lots of fun to sing a long too. It’s like a Halloween version of the song “I’ve Got a Dream” and it’s done very well. Definitely recommend this one if you are in for a spooky good time.
4. The Quest for Varian
This episode is so good! Like really good! Probably one of the most intense episodes in the series. Rapunzel and her friends must complete a quest for the young alchemist while being chased by mysterious masked soldiers. Also, I love how it further foreshadow Varian’s plan for revenge in her nightmare. When I watched this episode, I didn’t know which one was more shocking; seeing Rapunzel’s childhood/prison crumble before her eyes or the reveal of who sent the masked soldiers? Either way, this episode left an impact to many fans for many good reasons.
3. The Alchemist Returns
Truly a great follow-up to The Quest for Varian and does a fantastic job hyping us for the season finale. In this one, Rapunzel teams up with Varian to steal Corona’s most powerful object, the sun drop flower, while Eugune and Cassandra team up to solve the mystery of the truth serum that got snuck into the castle. This one shocked many fans on what Varian was willing to do get what he wants, even if it means tricking the princess to commit treason. For me, when I first saw this episode, I thought it was a great first step for Varian on his path for vengeance and becoming an anti-villain. It made me more excited for what he will do in Secret for the Sun Drop. Definitely worthy of the #3 spot.
2. Queen for a Day
Okay. This one was pretty predictable that this episode would make the list, but for very good reasons. Queen for a Day is a phenomenal special! Rapunzel had to learn the hard way on the responsibilities of being queen one day and let me tell you, it was intense. Every fan was aboard for the ride on this emotional roller-coaster. Eugune and Pascal willing to sacrifice their lives to do what’s right, Rapunzel not being able to help a friend in need, and seeing the heart-breaking moment of Varian seeing his father trapped in ember and vowing revenge towards Rapunzel and her kingdom. So much goes on in this episode! Easily, the scene that stole the show for me was Varian’s song “Let Me Make You Proud”. It is such an inspirational yet tragic song and it is my #1 song in the series so far! Jeremy Jordan of course hit a home run with this number! What else can I say about this episode that no one else has said? It is easily hands down one of the top episodes of this season!
1. Secret of the Sun Drop
Yep! That’s right! It just came out and it is #1 on my Top 10 Favorite Tangled Season 1 Episodes list! In my opinion, this had everything I love about the Tangled series and ending the season off with bang! It’s intense, suspenseful, funny, beautiful and lots of fun! Rapunzel and the kingdom of Corona must face off against Varian to save the queen in epic showdown! The biggest highlights for me are Rapunzel and Varian themselves. They stole the show whenever they are on screen, especially when they are interacting with each other. Seeing the struggle that they are both going through was deep. Rapunzel with wanting her freedom and Varian with fighting for what he thinks is right even though it doesn’t feel like it. The animation was extremely well done, especially during the final battle. Both of the new songs, especially “Ready as I’ll Ever Be” are really, well written, catchy gets you in the mood! This special was the perfect end to the first season and it leaves us wanting more, especially with the return of Varian and knowing more about the mysterious stranger teased in the end.
Well everyone, that’s my list. I hope you guys enjoyed it and I can not wait to see what the next chapter of Rapunzel’s adventures have in store for us.
