SFW Alphabet, Doflamingo: A-Z

Reposting all of these together for convenience and to save space. I don’t accept requests to do the entire alphabet for someone all at once. You have to stick to the guidelines of 1 character per ask, and 5 letters per ask, and once I finish the alphabet for a character with requests like that, I will repost it all together. Request are closed at the moment, though.  

A: Affection (How affectionate are they with a s/o?)

Doffy certainly has a preference for showing his affection via showering you with gifts, luxuries, etc., but he can also be affectionate through physical touch. He likes to keep you close by him at all times, just so he knows that you’re safe, and you’ll pretty much have a ghost impression of his arm around you because he has it slung around you so often.  

B: Breath (What can their s/o do to take their breath away)

He’s really into power moves, if you will. That can be a display of physical prowess, sure, but he prefers things that are more cunning in nature, like well-devised plans or you outwitting someone. He also really likes it when you don’t take any bullshit from anyone, not just because he gets a chuckle out of it, but because you’re finally realizing that you don’t have to take flak from anyone while you’re with him, for any reason.

C: Cuddle (Do they cuddle? If they do, how and when do they cuddle?)

He actually really likes cuddling due to his fondness for physical touch, but he needs for it to be done in a certain way so he can feel like he’s maintaining his image. He likes for you to lean against his side whenever the two of you are sitting down together, and he will of course throw an arm you during this. With this particular set up, he doesn’t care who sees you two together. He also doesn’t mind it if you lay on him at night, but that’s a discussion for his ‘Sleep’ section.

D: Dream (What do they dream of doing with their s/o?)  

He pretty much already saw his main dreams to fruition by taking Dressrosa over to become king and convincing you to stay by his side. His main goal now is just to maintain all of that, because he truly despises the thought of losing any of it, including you.

E: Effort (How much effort do they put into a relationship?)

Doffy isn’t one to mess around when it comes to putting effort towards anything. He may seem flippant about your relationship at times, but he’s always thinking of ways to spoil you and keep you by his side.

F: Fear (What do they do if their s/o is scared? How do they handle it?)

Oh, he gets mad whenever you get scared, not at you, of course, but at the fact that something had the gall to frighten you while he was around. Even if it isn’t something tangible, he’ll find a way to get some sort of revenge on it, probably by helping you to conquer that fear, and obviously, if it is something tangible, then it will be shredded via his strings.

G: Gifts (What type of gifts do they give their s/o? Do they want a gift in return?)

When it comes to gifts, Doffy is definitely an all day, every day kind of guy, and that’s barely an exaggeration. He has the wealth of an entire nation to burn through, and you can be damn skippy that he’s going to use some of that to spoil you with gifts. He doesn’t want any reminders of his time as a child when he had nothing, so he makes sure that you have everything that you could think of and then some. There is literally no limit to what he’ll give you; if he sees you eyeing something once, it’s yours.

H: Hugs (Do they hug their s/o? How often?)

He’s not that into them. While he does love having some physical contact with you, hugs are just a bit too straightforward with how loving they are and whatnot, and he prefers to be a bit more suave with his affections (AKA, hugs are too sappy for his taste).

I: Intimacy (How romantic are they? Do they have problems with intimacy?)

If you’re good at reading the meanings behind his actions and gifts, then he’s pretty romantic. He may not seem to be all that loving (again, he hates the thought of being sappy), but he certainly has a knack for various romantic gestures, like dates, gifts, etc. He may not make you feel all gushy inside, but he will certainly make you feel wanted, if that makes sense.

J: Jealous (Do they get jealous? How do they act when jealous?)

He puts so much effort into keeping you around him and happy and satisfied, that it’s only fair that all of your attention be on him (in his opinion, at least). Obviously, if anyone so much as even thinks about taking you away from him, then they will meet a very untimely and brutal end that will make even the hardest of souls queasy.

K: Kiss (Are they a good kisser? Do they like to kiss? How often do they try to kiss you?)

Yes. Just yes. This is one of the few things that he doesn’t care to do in front of other people (unless he’s trying to prove a point to someone, for whatever reason), but once he gets you behind closed doors, brace yourself, because those talented lips of his will make you weak in the knees.

L: Love (When do they say they love you? How often do they say it? Do they prefer to say it or show it?)

He’s not really the type of person to say it, but he definitely feels it (rather deeply, too), and that really shows through his actions. The gifts and all of the other overindulgences may seem like a bit much, but he just wants to make sure that you’re taken care of, and your safety is of the utmost important to him.

M: Marriage (Do they want to get married? If so, what kind of ceremony?)

Doffy isn’t one to get married, but that isn’t out of a fear of commitment or anything (because that is certainly not the case with how deeply he cares for you). He just thinks that it complicates everything, and in the back of his mind, he realizes that if something were to ever happen and he lost his throne or his status as a Shichibukai, you’d probably be put into a lot of danger just for having that connection with him. He wants you to have some sort of plausible deniability in case things really do go south, especially if they get so bad that he has to send you away from him for your own safety.

N: Night Out (What type of dates do they like to go on? How often do they like to go on them?)

Honestly, just tell him what you want to do and he’ll arrange for it. There might be a few modifications to spruce things up and make them fancy/fit for royalty (he has a taste for the finer things in life and he is in no way, shape, or form ashamed of that), but he’ll still make sure that the date encompasses everything that you wanted. He’ll arrange for them whenever you tell him to, and the only time that he thinks to arrange one himself is when you two haven’t gone on one for a while, like, months.

O: Out of the Ordinary (What’s something they don’t normally do for/with their s/o?)

He truly fears losing everything that he has built for himself and being nothing again, so if there is ever a situation where he has to choose between you or any of his high-up positions, there is a 99% chance that you will come out on the losing side of that arrangement.

P: Playful (Are they playful in a relationship? If so, how do they play around/mess with their s/o?)  

Doffy loves to tease you, about anything and everything. He’s just the type to show his affection that way, and he’s careful not to tease you about anything that actually bothers you. For example, if you make a mistake while doing something, he’ll avoid bringing that mistake back up once he sees how upset you are by it, and he will make sure that no one else brings that mistake back up, as well.

Q: Questions (Do they ask their s/o their opinion on things? Do they share theirs?)

Given the vast amount of illegal activities that he partakes in, there are a whole lot of things that he can’t ask for your opinion on because he doesn’t want you to get too involved with anything incriminating. If it’s a matter that isn’t illegal, then sure, he’ll ask for you opinion on it, and he has never been shy about sharing his opinions with anyone.

R: Random (How spontaneous is their relationship? Do they do things on the spot or plan ahead?)

He tends to plan most things out (he kind of has to due to his positions as a king and a Shichibukai), he just doesn’t tell you about those plans most of the time, especially if you mention something about wanting him to surprise you more often. Surprises are one of his main romance tactics, so you’ve got that going for you, and in the case that you do come across something that you want to do on the spot, then he’ll give it a try, but he’ll have to check a few things first (mostly in terms of security).

S: Sleep (How do they sleep with their s/o?)

The man sleeps like a starfish, so you will have to deal with that however you can. He doesn’t mind you laying on him, either using him as a pillow or fully as a bed (he kind of likes it actually), but if that isn’t something that you want to do, then you’ll be hard-pressed to find some space to lie in with his long limbs thrown all over the place.

T: Trust (How much do they trust their s/o?)  

It will take him a minute to get to this point, but just as Doffy loves deeply, he trusts deeply, as well, especially when it comes to the people that he lets get close to him, such as the members of his Family and his long-term lovers. There will be a small part of his mind that is always vigilant for betrayal when it comes to everyone, but that sliver of paranoia always dampens around you, and he physically cannot handle the thought of you betraying him.

U: Unique (What makes them unique as a s/o?)  

Beyond the fact that he is literally royalty, his past makes him a pretty unique s/o. He went from being a Celestial Dragon to being absolutely nothing during the lowest point of his life, and then he built himself up to be a pirate and eventually a Shichibukai, and then he went on to make himself a king. That whole process obviously had a huge impact on who he is as a person, and because of all of it, he has a unique way of going about everything. He never wants to go back to the days where he was nothing, and he doesn’t want any reminders of that time, either, which is why you’ll end up having quite a lavish lifestyle and you’ll want for nothing.

V: Vulnerable (How long until they can be vulnerable around their s/o? What are they like in this state?)

This is also not his schtick. If something’s bothering him, he will hide it no matter what. He may be a bit more clingy with you, but that’s about it, and 9 times out of 10 you won’t even notice that something’s wrong with him. You’d seriously have to be the most observant person in the world to notice any of this, and he’s happy about that because he really does not want to worry you in any capacity.

W: Wild Card (Random domestic headcanon)

You will be subject to weekly dinners with the entirety of the Family present. You’ll probably have dinner with a few of the members at several points, but Doffy always sets aside one night a week for everyone to get together. You’ll have the seat right next to him and the Executives will surround the two of you. You will be the closest to Doffy, and funnily enough, Trebol gets pretty ticked by this arrangement because he thinks that he should have the honor of being right next to Doffy.  

X: X-Ray (What would they do if their s/o got injured?)

Doffy will be very disappointed, not at you specifically, but at pretty much everything else. He’ll be disappointed that neither him or any member of the Family were able to protect you, he’ll be mad that he didn’t prepare you well enough to look after yourself, and he’ll be angry at fate in general that you were put in such a position. He will obviously make sure that you get the best care possible (and he’s a king, so that will be some pretty top-notch care), and he will make sure that someone who he trusts is always at your side to protect you while you recover.

Y: Yuck (Do they have any pet peeves about their s/o? Are there any habits that might bother their s/o?)

Bad hygiene really throws him off, and so does messiness and disorganization. At least with the latter pet peeve, he can call someone in to do some cleaning and organizing, but there isn’t much that he can do for the first one other than having a stern word with you. As for his habits, he does have a problem with keeping some bits of pertinent information from you; it’s not malicious, and he just worries about putting you in too much danger with his inner workings with the Executives and with his dealings as a Shichibukai. He’s also a really bad manspreader (how could he not be with those legs?), so that’ll probably get on your nerves.

Z: Zeal (Are they passionate as a s/o? Do they want or like passion?)

When Doffy loves, he loves deeply, and he is inevitably a passionate s/o because of that. He actually needs more passion from you, though, just so he knows for sure that he isn’t making a fool of himself by letting you get so close to him. He also needs a ton of loyalty from you, but that’s a story for another day.
