Oh, what's this? It looks like Renee has become a Mismagius and has taken advantage of her newfound power in a rather interesting way! She seems to have found some attractive-looking gentlemen and has invited them to stay with her in this bizarre mansion with her...permanently! I'm sure they're totally cool with it, the expressions and poses they've taken on for an indefinite period of time are probably just for show! And she seems to be beckoning to you as well, question is whether she's offering you to admire her collection--I mean guests--or if she's offering you to join with them...guy or gal, she's cool with either one as well as anything outside of that tbh. Unfortunately for her little momentary fantasy, before any more "guests" can arrive, she wakes up from the very odd dream she was having. And for a good few hours after, she can't help but wonder how he would look frozen in marble too...

So yeah, this isn't canon, just a fun lil thing I thought I'd do hehe. Honestly, iirc the only ones in this pic that actually meet in my canon Pokejinka storyline at present are Spark and Lunes, because I have Verdantia (my Leaf Green team) standing in for the Red encounter in the HGSS portion of the story. That and Renee doesn't evolve into Mismagius until after the Colosseum story segment, for obvious it's-gen-3-so-Mismagius-doesn't-exist-yet reasons, same as why my XD Mawile is pure steel instead of steel/fairy. ...there really is no significance to who got statue'd here, they were chosen via rng with my only rerolls being to make sure they were from different 'jinka teams, though it is kinda funny (in a good way) that 2/3 of them are trans men when Renee's eventual canon love interest is also a trans man. 1: sexuality headcanon - i headcanon her as mostly straight, maybe with a bit of repression about the parts of her that aren't totally due to having been called a lesbo so much growing up? that's not totally fixed, just the way i generally see her at the moment

2: otp - i really like tolkiendy after TFBW bc i found their combat dialogue so cute (he's really simping for her ;-;). that might be my favorite wendy ship, but i'm not sure i endgame her with anyone atm

3: brotp - bebe up to a point. i just know bebe made the saltiest facebook post after wendy couldn't take the MLM shilling anymore and finally blocked her. i do like wendy and kyle and tolkien friendly in high school

4: notp - i don't really have any, but i do feel she can sometimes bring a very serious or overly mature vibe to some ships. i don't think she has to tho? i have really enjoyed what little i have written of her (the way she stresses certain words when pissy is rly fun to write lol) and i imagine my feelings and preferences will develop the more i write her

it's not chiefly embarrassing exactly, but i don't love the way the girls were made into these adult liberal feminist women via the trump/garrison/cartman parallels in season 20. there's a general overmaturity to the girls too, and i miss when they were allowed to be silly and goofy. the most genuine joy i have derived from a girl character's actions in recent years is 100% millie going into the principal's office with that ridiculous crying act in "pajama day"

9: cinnamon roll or problematic fave?

she's very earnest and wants to do the right thing and, as with kyle, i feel like there often comes a point where reality or cartman throws a wrench in her liberal idealism. she's better at rolling with the punches than kyle though imo, and will back down when need be. she's willing to lose the battle to win the war, so idk if that's cinnamon roll status exactly, but i find her very clever and formidable

that said, i like her problematic too. she has some more intensely jealous and egocentric moments earlier on in the show, and while i wouldn't write her that way entirely, it can be fun to let some of that behavior shine through when she's really pushed. what can i say.. i support women's wrongs

Rare pairs are definitely fun, so unexplored lol. I like being able to see any ship and even if I don't really think it's all that amazing just being like, yeah okay, this could be neat :)

I really love the concept of vampire Colin and at the battle everyone thinks he's dead but he's only sort of dead lol (lots of feels there, the grieving and then realising he's actually still there is cool)

Oh yes, I like the idea of like puppy coded character being a vampire, it's interesting when you play with like vampire, dark creature and then Colin's just a bebe, just a sweetheart lol.

Oh yeah, I also read that Remus/Percy fic :) I also love the idea of maybe Ginny always bring Colin around to the burrow as a friend and Percy just sort of hanging around and they sort of become obsessed with each other, so like maybe Percy has some reason to force himself to go to family gatherings, coul also play in some family angst in that which is delightful :)

On the flip side you could make Percy the vampire, also very fun. Sort of like if you take it in the direction that Percy is very controlled, very strict about what he allows himself to do and want and then being a vampire totally strips that away from him, like he needs blood and it's got to be Colins. Colin would be very surprised lol, but probably wouldn't even mind it that much while Percy's like I'm a monster, I'm a monster, I am literally drinking the blood of the sweetest person I've ever met and I don't want to stop, ever. Fun :)

Also had this idea of vampire families, like you have a connection to the vampire that turned you, thinking maybe Percy as a vampire and he turns Colin at the battle to save him but he feels super guilty about it and they have this bond now and Percy has to teach Colin how to be a vampire, very cute with the caring Percy and curious Colin lol

Dammit, you've got me thinking about Colin >:( the thing is, because I'm new to this idk who my favourite ship with him is. Like Percy is cute and Harry is too and so is Ginny or Luna but that's it for me. Cute. WHERE'S THE BURNING PASSION WHERE IS THAT SHIP THAT MAKES MY INSIDES CRUNCHY I HAVEN'T READ ENOUGH TO KNOW IT WHEN I SEE IT :(

(Nigel is a movie only character that they used to replace Colin and Dennis because Colin's actor grew too fast to keep playing him so personality wise he's pretty much just another Creevey without the last name)

I feel like Colin just kinda inherently falls into that cute and/tragic category like he has passion but other then his photography it's not tapped into as much as it could be. His type of love just inherently feels very puppy like and obsessive and I love that about him so much

like he would make such a good stalker because he practically already is one but he'd be so nice about it which makes it more fun to me personally

Colin being physically incapable of keeping the smile of his face when he sees him after Percy graduated that really it's a wonder they've been able to keep their soulmate status a secret at all

a/n: ive had this request stored up in my drafts for a while now and omg this is too cute I CANNOT!!!༎ຶ‿༎ຶ my sis actually loves bakugou in that she is obsessed w him and thats her boo. he is so much fun to write tbh, ty guys for ur reading my stuff i hope yall enjoy.

You were the silent type. Not wanting any confrontation. You just wanted to live life, just go on ahead and not worry about anyone. In school it was every man for himself. It was you, yourself and your quirk. 

The school bell rang as you looked through your lockers. 

“Where is that dang pen?” You rummaged through the tiny space. Lifting your Monsta X binders and Seventeen notebooks. Resisting the urge to give a tiny peck to your Wonho poster. “Found it!” As you grabbed onto your pen you hit your head. You patted the pain as you heard snickering in the background. 

Behind you were the school nerds laughing at your predicament. They carried their Pokemon cards along every where and that’s all they talked about. They may have been geeks but they were jerks to everyone. Not only were most of them so smart but they had quirks that could put Todoroki to shame. 

One kid that had a shark fin stuck his tongue out, chuckling at you. “Look its Y/N! The weird girl obsessed with K-pop.”

You slammed your locker door. They irked you to the point where you had to take a breather in order not to knock them upside the head with your quirk. “K-pop is music. Music is for everyone. At least these guys are real, lets take a look at your Pokemon now, should we?”

“Take that back!” They said in unison. They got closer to you and you clutched your books tighter. 

Bakugou was walking by, hands in his pockets, minding his business, when he took a second look at these guys cornering you. 

“Can you please just leave me alone?” You tried walking around them. 

One of the boys caressed your shoulder, “why? Let’s have fun? You seem like you’ve never been with someone at all. This close.” The boy put his face near yours as he stuck his tongue out and sniffed you. 

Tight lipped, you felt frozen. 

“I want to see what this body can do.” His hand creeped up under your skirt. 

You smacked his hand and the others cackled away.

“What size cup is she?”

“Can she throw it back?”

“Lets go in the back of my car baby!”

“C’mon sweetie, we know you liked to have fun!”

You tried running away but they wouldn’t let you. You felt trapped and covered your ears. Through your lashes you looked up to see Bakugou standing there. Hands in fists, teeth clenched, eyes sharpened to a glare, and his nose flaring. What was he doing?

“You better leave Y/N alone you losers?” His voice was rough and you can tell he was definitely  angry. 

“Or what?” They shrugged. 

“Or I’m going beat you all up so hard that it’ll hurt to breathe.”

They all smirked as they displayed their quirks. 

“Fine, you want to be destroyed.” Bakugou lifted his sleeves and threw his fist back as it punched the guys in the face. 

It was like he was your hero. A true pro hero.

Explosions happened and Bakugou threw one of the kids against the lockers. He kneed their face and stomachs. “You think you’re better than everyone. You think you own this school. I told you to leave Y/N alone!”

All the boys took their things and bowed to you, apologizing like a cat between their legs.

“Thank you!” You bowed to Bakugou, giving him money. “That was so cool! Especially when you-”

“I didn’t do it for you, idiot.” He side eyed your look. He was lying because his cheeks turned pink as a blush. 

You gasped as you saw a split lip and many bruises on his face and arms. His eyebrow was bleeding. “You’re hurt.” You reached his face to touch the wounds. 

Bakugou swatted your arms. “I’m fine okay!” He sprinted away as he went up the stairs to the roof. 

You followed him and he was leaning against the school building trying to wipe away the blood. 

“I can help you, you know.” You said in low voice. 

He didn’t say anything and you took that as a yes. Sitting next to him you brought his face towards yours. He pulled away and you pinched his arm. 

“Oww! What the heck Y/N!”

“Look. At. Me.” Bakugou followed your command. His face was a few inches away from yours. You brought from your back pack a first aid and band-aids. “Thank you for helping me out there. Seriously. I think those guys are not going to bother me anymore.” You patted his brow and lip to clean it. “It means a lot to me.”

“It was nothing. I hate people that think they’re so cool when they are nothing. I also hate when guys disrespect women like that. Its wrong.” He winced. 

“Sorry. They’ve been doing that for a while so its gonna be nice to not deal with those guys.” You blew on the wounds and Bakugou’s blush deepened. You brought out your NCT-127 band-aids out and placed them on his cuts, softly. “There you go. That should heal and help you out.” You stood up and wiped your skirt. “Thank you so much again. If you ever need a favor let me know. I put my phone number on one of the band-aids. Anyways, bye Bakugou!” 

Bakugou sat there wishing you had stayed and had talked more because the rest of the day you’re going to be on his mind.

Well

Welp, feeling like doing an update because there's been a lot going on to be honest. its one of those weird dichotomies where every day feels like an eternity and there's so much going on and then you look back and you're like oh, ok its just my brain making it difficult and making things take forever but anyway.

LOCKDOOOOOOOWWWWWWNNNNNNN

Lockdown life was good, apart from being thrust into it so suddenly dave left a banana on his desk. Wasn't great to come back to after 5 weeks out of the office - mummified mouldy banana!! Classic. We luckily got our first jab before lockdown started so that was good, and we were reasonably well stocked up on food and were generally a lot healthier this lockdown that last. honestly, there's a level of chill and serenity in lockdown that i just love. the ability to set my own schedule and only work the hours I actually work to get the job done? Amazing. getting 8.5 hours of sleep each night without having to wake to an alarm blaring? AMAZING. getting to go for walks every afternoon? SO FLIPPING GOOD. I love it so much, I really really do. I need this to be my life permanently.

WORK

Work is just ongoing and draining and honestly, coming back to the office was so fucking stressful and it was only one day. Being at home is just the fucking bomb. Pending home decisions, I wanna go contracting I think, but also ideally two part time contracts to have more flexibility? I dunno. You'd think a big 4 would provide variety but it really doesn't and honestly, with Richie leaving, wellington is just a sinking ship. Sean's off on parental leave, Kirstyn is down to four days a week, ben will be gone if he doesn't get promoted (and I don't think he will be tbh). Jack is just muddling along, Nigel wants to swap to consulting as well, Matt's going to be a shit leader in terms of bringing in work so it's just not going to work. and in our wider group it's going to get even more messy with heaps of the analysts leaving and a couple of senior hires too. so I think it's probably time to jump ship in general, pending the home stuff below. Also, coming back after a break again, I'm like, I don't actually like a lot of you? All the people I enjoy here are in other teams and groups, and I'll be sad to leave you all, but like, not enough to stay anyway lol.

Pending the home below, two options are to just going and get a job with a $30k payrise to make up for the maternity leave benefits I'm gunna leave behind when I leave this role - 18 weeks full pay, $100 a week for the first year back and a full year of maternity leave. It's basically 30k post tax which is a bit nuts to walk away from to be honest.

Otherwise the other option is to go contracting. Less security overall but holy shit so much money. If I went in as a project coordinator at the lowest rate to build up a bit of a portfolio I'd need to work 40 weeks of 40 hr weeks and Id basically match my current salary plus the lost family leave benefits and still qualify for govt maternity leave payments. Realistically I could go in as a project manager for $140 an hour ($60 more an hour than the above math) and absolutely smash it at that level as well so ya know, there's a bunch of other info. I like the idea of the flexibility of it and only having 6 months even if its a shitshow and beign able to walk away at the end of it. I really don't want to get a govt job and this is a v govt town which is fine but also, if I can avoid it that would be great. I just know I'm not gunna thrive in that environment.

Need to talk to Dave to get him across the line on the security issue part of that though. I've mostly come a long way in terms of my financial management (thanks YNAB) so I think he'd be ok with it mostly.

So there's a lot to toss up there because......

HOME

We got the reno plans done during lockdown, finally. which was super good. but holy fkn jesus $$$$$$ ++++++++++. The guy is coming around for the final quote on Thursday. We indicatively said $100k total because we're doing kitchen laundry bathroom and toilet. so only the most expensive rooms and when I was talking to him last week he said 'that might cover it' and they're seeing cost escalations of 7-10% a week which is just insane. we're not doing anything structural apart from putting in a cavity slider in the bathroom, and the quote they'll give us won't include flooring since they won't do it.

Meanwhile, the prefab homes I were looking at for our site were $425k fully done. Like, I'm not going to spend $130K on doing up my 1940s ex state house ya know? That's not good cost benefit ratio.

So depending on what that comes out at on thursday we'll be able to make some plans.

We also want to start trying for kids next year and need these renos done first - I am not having kids and no dishwasher lol.

Also we need bank financing so good to be in a permanent stable job for that application. the good thing is we have so much equity we know we can borrow whatever we need, I just don't want to spend that much money on it because it's fkn ridiculous. and if I'm going on maternity leave we need to be able to cover it all on dave's salary and whatever benefits I have as well so there;s a lot of financial planning and spreadsheeting going on at the moment lol. it's fab.

either way. we've got plenty of options up our sleeve. we've got friends who's brother owns a building company so we can talk to them, we've got the garage so we can get things prefabricated even if they're not installed til next year, Dave can get shit at cost through his work for whiteware, there;s plenty of things to like cost control we can do, we just need to know where we're starting from basically. thats the challenging part. but we'll figure it out, its just taking longer than I want it to basically.

We also planted up the vege garden for the spring/summer which was lovely, super jazzed about that. we've finally got the garden to a reasonably low maintenance level where everything is mostly under control and it's such a relief, honestly.

PERSONAL

Man what a shift to lockdown last year honestly. I think the last 8 weeks in particular has just been like, a massive reality check of how absolutely shit the last year was and how fucking glad I am to be rid of it. I spent a week absolutely spiralling 2 weeks ago now and honestly, I don't know how I lived in the state for more than a year. I actually don't know how I did it. and I could not be more glad that I'm finally on the other side of it, for the most part. There's still a bunch of other stuff to work through (hahahahahaha when is there not like damn) but fucking hell its nice to just not be anxious and nauseous and wound up constantly. life is actually accessible. miracle.

My workmate had his bebe - I went round and got newborn cuddles and was like, oh, is this what it is to be clucky? this is odd. so there's that as well. I think we'll probably start trying next year pending renos and jobs etc. If the renos can be done in jan I'll prob just stick it at the job to get the benefits but I dunno. it's a tough call to make really. we shall see. This all assumes we get knocked up without any issues which is questionable these days. I really want to feel healthier before getting pregnant as well, and part of that is losing weight. however, given discussing that is what triggered the spiral we're working on that one slowly.

Also, lets have a moment for counselling, because fkn bless anne and all her hard work honestly. I actually ended up emailing her being like, I;m losing my shit on the monday and then talked to her on thursday. And its so funny because it's such a counselling thing but I didn't realise until afterwards what she'd done but she was like you're clearly not doing well and then the night before dave got a fkn miserable migraine and he was up for like, 2 hrs powerchucking except he didn't make it to the bathroom in time so guess who was cleaning up vomit at 130am trying not to chuck herself but I digress. anyway, not doing well, couldn't even explain why, didn't even have words and super tired and she's like, what lynaire up to this week how's she going with izzy and chat about that and then be like how are you feeling about your body and then 5 more mins of chat about the cat and the chickens and then like bam hard question and then hows it going with x and y and z and its like, it wasn't til I was on my walk afterwards when I FINALLY started feeling marginally better I was like damn woman work your magic for figuring it out for me and helping me reregulate. all over the phone as well since we were still in lockdown. GREAT WORK FRIEND.

and then last week was like totally fucked theoretical discussion about religion and the role it's played in my life and fate vs free will and all this nutty shit but genuinely just a great discussion. She's the best and I love her. thank good for good counsellors. thank god I can afford to pay for it honestly.

Dave and I are just chugging along, god bless that man. I love him. its amazing. I miss having friends close by but understand why they had to move (boooooo f u house prices). Family is pretty chill, still not really talking to dave's parents which is nightmarish but we'll deal with that when we need to. gunna have to go and visit them at some point coz dave misses them and I feel for him, I really do. It's the whole boundaries renegotiation I went through with my family last year post wedding blow up and its just not a fun place to be. oh well. can't fix it for him but also I'm not putting up with that level of BS from either of our families once we have children. not gunna happen.

Either way, life is busy and full and fun and I'm enjoying it. Daylight savings starts this weekend too, its october next week WTF and I'm just waiting for 4pm to find out what's gunna happen to our girls trip. Clearly we cancelled our sept trip to christchurch and akaroa and hanmer springs so my covid travel curse continues. fkn ridic. Still dunno what we're gunna do with $2500 of flight credits coz if we get knocked up theres def no international trips happening any time soon.

The Masked Singer Season 4 Episode 2: Group B kicking it off... with a twist!! Guesses and Commentary

Hello my fellow Masked Singer guys and gals! It's that time of the week again (albeit I am a bit late, but let's go with it), time for Ana's Masked Singer recap woohoo! *insert fanfare here* This episode was such an insane one not gonna lie, Group B came in with a bang like wow... let's just get into it because it's a crazy episode in it of itself.

Firstly, I gotta point out the contestants of Group B, which this time were 6 unlike A and C which only have 5 contestants total.. and those 6 are (order from left to right, top row first then bottom row in the image below) Crocedile, Gremlin (the purple fluffy guy), Seahorse, Whatchamacallit (the blue and red hair cousin It thing), Baby Alien, and Serpent.

Alrighty so this elimination is gonna be a bit different than usual because it isn't the norm of what usually happens with these sorts of things (I'll tell you what I mean in a sec)...

So the first contestant unmasked for Group B actually wasn't eliminated (I know what you are thinking... "whaaatttt Anaaaaa that makes no sense")... but actually he unmasked himself (whatttt?! yeah you read that right, he legit was hot and suffocating and he seemed super over it and just took it off by himself... yup, that happened like what mind blown!

Anyways the mask who did this was...

THE GREMLIN

Performance: He sang Stand by Me by Ben E. King and honestly it was meh, it was really breathy as if he forgot some of the words, I don’t know if he was overcome with emotion (because he dedicated it to his friend who passed away) or what, I felt kind of bad but I low key feel like he was going to go home regardless, but on the bright side I love the costume and it was a great song choice for his range. He has a very raspy voice... like almost like a smoker’s voice and I can kind of tell that he’s an older man, but I couldn’t recognize the singer. 

So the Gremlin ended up being revealed to be....

Ugh this upsets me because I don’t know who he is so I really couldn’t guess him correctly. I searched it up and apparently he’s an actor and director and was in Iron Man 2, which I’ve never seen like ever. But yeah, he did good, he looked kinda drunk not gonna lie and I guess he was suffocated and got over it.

Performance: I really love Seahorse, she’s one of my favorites of the night and so far in the season in general. Her performance of Rihanna’s Only Girl in the World was amazing and I definitely knew who that voice is...

Dude like that voice is so recognizable... but also because of the clues:

verivery - G. B. T. B. (unbelievably energetic, hits hard af the rap verses and vocals make up for the slightly generic chorus, the muffled parts are absolute genius as well as the edm part with the choreo...i just love it a lot)

xum - ddalala (for a debut this sure holds potential, the song itself is addicting. the choreo is satisfying as hell, similarly to the mv. they didn’t chicken out halfway, went through with the sexiness - i can only praise them, hope they keep it up...cough also the slight sapphic undertonessss)

precious - bebe (another great debut of the previous months, i was first a lil concerned when they started with the action-movie like intro but then their unique voices got me, the chorus’ little bebe, oh bebe part is in itself enough to make this succesful tbh, takes many turns that makes it a little all over the place but somehow pulls it off)

a.c.e - favorite boys (ok, before y’all drag me! i know i’m late. but truth be told when i first listened i didn’t like it that much, but ig the feminine charm got my bi ass in the end. still not too sure about how much i like it but we’ll see how well it grows on me) 

cix - jungle (you guys know how much i love this kind of sound from how much i used to obsess over golden child’s similar sounding songs, totally in love with this)

txt - blue hour (um so first ever txt song i genuienly like...that, yeah that’s pretty much it)

p1harmony - siren (not sure about the song just yet, but sure is a very impressive debut and i can see that all the members are not only visuals but very talented, props to them very high quality for a debut!)

Episode Ten

The makeover challenge!! I personally love the makeover challenge. I know there are lots of people who hate it because the judging is very inconsistent, and the criteria for the challenge isn't exactly the clearest - which I totally get (and agree with to an extent), but I still love it! I just love watching makeovers, tbh. Plus it's really interesting seeing how the queens can make someone (who out of drag looks nothing like them) look like they're in the same family. It really shows who the makeup artists are.

Without further adieu, let's get into the breakdown...

1. Crystal Methyd

Crystal did such an amazing job this week! Her trajectory has just been going up, and up, and up! She has been doing so amazing well, and proving every single week why she deserves to be there.

The one tiny little reservation I had was that if she had been making me over, I think I would have been a tiny bit disappointed that everyone else got these beautiful glamorous (mostly) looks, and I was literally painted like a muppet. But, it seemed like Grace was really loving it and feeling herself, so honestly good for her!

Having said that, I really did live the runway. It was clever, it was cute, it was fashion, it had a story...it was everything. For me, Crystal did the best job this week, and I kind of wish she had won, or maybe been joint with Jaida. I just think she had the best concept, the most complete story, and a really clearly great relationship with her fan.

2. Gigi Goode

I feel a little bit like I don't even want to comment on Gigi this week. I just feel disappointed.

Gigi came into this competition so strong, and from the beginning I picked her as Top 4, and by Snatch Game I wanted her to win. Now, I honestly can't tell you how disappointed I'd be if she won this season.

Honestly, she should have been lip syncing this week. Everything she did was so basic and low effort, down to the name she gave Shea. Gigi Goode and BeBe Bad? Mimi Bored. The outfits were so boring, even the storyline was literally the most basic thing she could have thought of. Also tbh those outfits looked so ugly, and also uncomfortable and scratchy.

I am so disappointed in Gigi.

3. Heidi N Closet/Heidi Afrodite

Heidi Afrodite is a pretty good name, I'm not gonna lie.

Heidi wasn't the best this week. It's unfortunate, because I don't think she did badly, but of all of then she probably did do the worst.

She did such a beautiful job with Nicole's makeup, but her own was really rough. In the same vein; her outfit was gorgeous, but Nicole's was like a H&M dress. It looked like Heidi was a disco singer about to go on stage and Nicole was her manager. It was just unfortunate.

I am glad that she got Nicole's legs out, I think it was a really good thing for Nicole to see how beautiful she is, and what great legs she has! Other than that, I'm afraid Heido fumbled the ball this week.

4. Jackie Cox

Jackie and Lil Snackie! If there was a prize for naming the superfan, Jackie gets it. Lil Snackie Cox was a stroke of genius!

Unfortunately, I get the same thing from Jackie as I got from Heidi - she didn't do a bad job, she just didn't do a great one. I still think it was better than Gigi though. The outfits were both beautiful, the walk and the presentation was great, I loved Tiffany's makeup - there was just something missing, that oomph factor to just push it up a level.

I am really glad that it was a double chantay this week. I think Jackie and Heidi both have so much to give and I want to see them both succeed so much.

5. Jaida Essence Hall

So obviously we know Jaida won last week, so she got to pair the queens to the fans. I think she did an amazing job! She really gave everyone someone they could do a great job with, she didn't try and screw anyone over, I loved it. I could totally see her logic on picking the fan with similar energy to the queen. She stays slaying, she does not fight dirty, and she rises above. A true queen imo.

Her runway this week was beautiful. The dresses were sisters, and so were Jazz and Jaida. Both sets of makeup were stunning. Not that I expect anything less from the makeup artist our Jaida is! She picked really great looks, her and Bethany had great chemistry, the presentation was lovely, it was all on point for me.

I also feel like we're really getting to watch Jaida have fun, and I love that so much. I was so worried that she was going to remain this very stoic professional queen (not that there's anything wrong with that, it's just hard to relate to someone when you can see that they're not truly being themselves), but she has just let her guard down and showed us her goofy side the last few weeks, and she's been really having fun and letting us have fun with her.

We stan. Jaida is the season winner for me.

I will also say, I feel really sorry for Janet. She had this cool makeover, she got to be on Drag Race; and now that experience has probably been tainted by who did it and who she spent time with. It's a shame for her.

Top 20 Songs of 2020

Okay y’all, here’s my top kpop songs of 2020 list for this year (finally, good lord this year felt like an eternity). These are the 20 songs that I felt really made an impact on me this year and why 💕

Starting from last to first, here we go!

20. Dr. Bebe, Pentagon - this song deserved so much better tbh the music video was everything, their acting was excellent and the vocals were *chefs kiss* i also loved the dark, creepy vixx -reminiscent vibes

19. Back Door, Stray Kids - Ok like objectively i know that God’s Menu was like their piece de resistance this year, but Back Door was just so fun and had a great bass line and the choreo was SO good

18. Cry For Me, Twice - this literally JUST came out like two seconds ago but let me tell you cry for me has legit been stuck in my head from the SECOND i heard it just ask my sister she’s this close to killing me next time i sing the chorus

17. Red Sun, Dreamcatcher - Let’s be real, dreamcatcher’s entire studio album was perfect from start to finish, and red sun was a standout among that perfection for me like from the magical mystical instrumental to dami’s absolutely earth-shattering rap line, just absolute gold my dude

16. Kick It, NCT 127 - This was a very polarizing song for a lot of people i feel, but for me the concept was literally executed to perfection. It had so much potential to be cheesy and gimmicky, but it totally wasn’t and i think it’s because nct 127 committed SO wholeheartedly to the concept

15. So Bad, StayC - THIS song. I actually already had my list all written out when i discovered so bad by stayc and i literally had to reconsider my ENTIRE existence. They are so so good with such a talented production team backing them and they’ve literally just debuted.

14. Dun Dun, Everglow - A lot of people really hated this song, and don’t get me wrong i had my own issues with the line and screen time distribution for sure, but you can’t deny it’s a total banger

13. Nonstop, Oh My Girl - This is the kind of song that i never really expected to fall in love with. It’s bubbly and cute and quite like youthful, but oh my girl honestly pull that concept off so well and they had me immediately hypnotized

12. Be In Love, Itzy - 2020 was the year of bailey eating her own words aka the year of me falling in love with itzy. when itzy debuted i seriously thought if they stuck with their concept i probably wouldn’t ever be into their music but lmao. they showed me. anyway this b side is seriously underrated and it really shows the girls vocal talents off, especially lia and yuna

11. Love Killa, Monsta X - hyungwon. that’s it that’s the post . . . jk but for real, visuals popped off. love killa was exactly what i’ve been wanting from mx for the past year or so. they hit the nail right on the head with the this one.

10. Secret Story of the Swan, izone - my relationship with izone is basically like my relationship with itzy part 2. I always appreciated them for their talents and having a very recognizeable sound but i could never get into their music. then SSOTS happened, and to be honest it STILL gets stuck in my head at random times

9. Phobia, Stray Kids - i LOVE this b side. for a while i thought it might replace Voices as my favourite skz track, but it just didn’t have the longevity that voices does. that said, it’s still such a good song with an important message did i mention that i love stray kids

8. La Di Da, Everglow - i have said it before and i’ll say it again: no one is doing it like everglow. this song came so out of the blue and blindsided so many people with how unexpectedly different it was, all while being a certified banger. the line distribution is aMAZING, you get to hear each member’s unique flavor, the straight 80’s vibe is immaculate, the styling is God-tier, just . . . everything. i LOVE this comeback

7. Eternally, TXT - if you know me, you know i love a good beat switch-up (i mean, my ult group is stray kids for crying out loud) and ladies. this song is the switch up to end all switch ups. txt somehow managed to combine two completely different tracks, each of which would have been A+ songs all on their own, and somehow make something a million times better. listening to eternally is a whole experience in and of itself and i haven’t heard anything that could compare to it to this day

6. Girls, Nature - UGH. WHAT an underappreciated masterpiece. girls by nature does everything that other companies are so afraid to do with their girl groups: a strictly dark, horror concept, a haunting melodic line with no need for a rap breakdown because it stands on its own as is, a visual concept that does not sexualize the girls in any way but instead tells a story of a person at the mercy of the one they love. it’s e v e r y t h i n g. Not to mention the song has one of the best pre choruses i’ve EVER heard.

5. Wannabe, Itzy - Let’s be honest, you knew this was going to be here. Everyone and their grandma was learning ryujins shoulder move. this was literally the summer of itzy’s wannabe. This is actually the comeback that got me onboard the itzy train and now i’m barreling down the mountain going 200mph and can’t find the breaks

4. I Can’t Stop Me, Twice - I think onces really had no idea where this comeback was gonna go. after more and more got such mixed responses from fans, we all weren’t really sure what direction the company was going to take twice in next. personally, i’m SO happy they went for the retro synth 80’s vibe concept. it was current enough to fish in non fans and keep new onces engaged but they also added their own unique twice spice to it, and i’ve been playing it on repeat for weeks also stan risky risky wiggy wiggi

3. Oh My God, G Idle - Ahhhh, yes. another polarizing song from gidle. omg for me was exactly what i needed from gidle. They’d been playing around with the darker concepts but had never fully committed to the potential that i saw in their music, but with omg we finally got the see them go full out with it, and i don’t think ANYONE could have done it better. The drop while empty was somehow so satisfying, the visials in the mv were visceral and witchy and to think that soyeon wrote and produced such a masterpiece. all i can say is bravo

2. Daisy, Pentagon - if this song doesn’t hold a very special place in your universe heart then buddy i think it’s time to throw the whole heart away. daisy, on top of being the first song to earn pentagon a well deserved music show win, was so emotionally moving from the lyrics to the mv to the choreo. you don’t need to know korean to feel exactly what the writer is feeling when hui sings that chorus, and that my friend is true artistry.

1. Answer, Ateez - Bet you were expecting a stray kids song. answer though has had my whole entire heart body and soul from the second it came out all the way back in january. for it to last a whole year as my favourite song of 2020 really speaks volumes as to how incredibly talented ateez and their production team are. Over the course of this absolute shit year, this song really inspired me to push forward, to keep working toward my goals and to keep believing in myself, and i think that’s a pretty amazing feat for one single song.

Cignature - Nun Nu Nan Na: i’ve felt like it should be this high the entire time but only now am i bold enough to say it

Izone - Fiesta: another bold stance but idk, is this one as hot a take as cignature? like, fiesta’s a bop right? we’re all agreed? maybe we arent lmao but i think its a bop anyway

Loona - So What: im so proud of them!!! they got their first win this month!!! yeah idk, this song is always gonna be controversial and polarizing, but i like it a lot more than i dislike it, for sure. the choreo’s not as exciting, and the stages were empty without haseul and orbits, but the song in and of itself is good, it’s gonna remain stuck in my head all year. 

Dreamcatcher - Endless Night: this song is cheesy as hell but whatever lmao. breaking every endless niiiiiiight

Cherry Bullet - Hands Up: in my last update i said “fairly simple lol this is just a weird bop” and i stand by that

NCT 127 - Kick It: at the beginning of the month i would have put this at number 2, but i havent listened to it as much lately. part of that is me finding more comfort during this quarantine nonsense by listening to girl groups and watching girl group vlogs and other content and stuff, but also part of that is just sort of the novelty wearing off a little bit, and some minor nitpicks i had becoming more prominent and hard to ignore now. tbh i still think this is in my top 3 nct 127 songs though, easily

Weki Meki - Dazzle Dazzle: it’s really hard for me to tell where i should place this. i love weki meki to death so i want it to be high, but i don’t like it as much as some other weki meki songs. i think it’s catchy, it’s weird, it’s veeeery bubblegummy (literally lol it has popping sound effects throughout it), but it’s good. it’s just a solid weki meki track, i guess. this is the song i’ve listened to the second most this year so far, apparently, but i’m not sure it’ll stay that way.

GFriend - Crossroads: i cant believe i had this at number 3 last time lol. everything i said about it still stands but i just dont think that stuff warrants number 3 anymore. i think it is an emotionally affecting song that got better every time i listened to it, and i think the stages for it were always pretty good, but you know... maybe this drop just reflects my need for more fast paced hype-up songs this past month cause those lend themselves better to escaping from the outside world haha

Itzy - Wannabe: it’s itzy and they own this 4th gen “teen crush” concept (i hate that term even though weki meki coined it and own it even more than itzy does lol), so of course it was gonna be good, but i think it’s still up for debate exactly how good it is. i dont think it’s as classic as dalla dalla or icy will go on to be. i dont even think wannabe is the best song from their mini album, lol. it’z me might be the best mini album of the year so far, tbh. i mean dont get me wrong, this song is good, and of course ive had its chorus and weird noisy production stuck in my head all month

and here’s a thing i’m doing for the first time this month... here’s my top 5 bsides of the year so far! its hard to compare these with title tracks since generally i listen to title tracks so much more, because theyre just like... a bigger deal, you know? i give title tracks more thought and criticism too. i’m trying to be better about listening to bsides this year though, but even still, i dont always listen to the bsides for a comeback, so this list is gonna be even more biased than my title track list. i dont care though cause like... so what? of course it’s biased lmao it’s my opinion, of course it’s subjective. anyway here it is

Dreamcatcher - Red Sun: the stages made me love this song even more and understand its aesthetic so much better, but even without that it was still one of the best bsides i’d ever heard from a group. part of me wants a Red Sun special clip, but part of me wants them to wait till Handong is back. it’ll probably never happen, but we can dream. anyway this song kills me with how good it is

Elris - This Is Me: this song slaps so fucking hard lmao. i’m not that into the dance break in the song, it kills the momentum a little bit, but damn this shit is such an adrenaline rush, i love it

Dreamcatcher - Sahara: we all joked about this song already, but seriously that special clip made it totally impossible to take this song seriously... which vastly improved it, in my opinion. this song becoming just something you headbang to and giggle about the “ra ra ra”s and the antics in the special clip made this song 10x better, and i already loved it to begin with lol. this song is such a fuckin anthem haha, a silly, powerful, just-good-dumb-fun anthem 

Itzy - That’s A No No: this song has some of the most unique production i’ve heard in a kpop song. it’s downright nightmarish, this thing sounds like a fever dream

Izone - Open Your Eyes: idk what to say about this song other than that it’s an easy song to get lost in actually there’s a tie for this spot... this song is tied with Loona - Number One: idk what to say about this song other than that it’s an easy song to get lost in
