// Happy New Year! Sorry I have been MIA! With everyone home I don't have a chance to be on - but I've been reading replies and working on drafts when I can 👀

Next few days are a bit packed. Got back 2 back Dr's appointments AND have to take my car in because I got a nail stuck in my tire (and no Wheel Lock so I can't just take it in to a regular mechanic).

Goals this year - Get a job, draw more, be present. I've gotten into Sonic lately so if you see me pop up on my main @theannoyedskittle with random Sonic ocs, it's because I'm embracing the OG Fandom lol

people finding somun annoying in episode 11... oh well. ig he hasn't been the most level headed person, but he was not being 'selfish' when he said he was against killing ma juseok.

when he insists on summoning juseok instead of killing him, it's not just juseok he is trying to save, but the souls trapped inside him too. if he is killed, those souls will be lost forever. and like hana pointed out- killing is not the solution, because almost-invincible evil spirits like ma juseok may appear in the future too, and they can't go about killing them every time.

though, motak's argument was valid too-- time is limited, and they need to stop more victims from appearing.

the conflict between somun and motak has been building up for a while, and it reached its peak this episode because both of them are at the end of their ropes---

somun: because he realized that juseok was still trying to fight off hwang pilgwang's control, which for him is a ray of hope, one he desperately clings on to. keep in mind that this is before he finds out that hanul was 'killed', because once motak blurts that out, you can SEE the horror on somun's face and how he just... breaks. he is grasping at straws and it strikes him at this moment, the weight of what he's just heard, and of motak's mental anguish in that moment; and then his scream-he's this close to losing it.

motak: he just watched his colleague get killed by ma juseok, strengthening his belief that killing him is now the only solution. his anger and frustration gets worse when he sees somun still trying to hold out for an idealistic solution despite their dire situation. and he couldn't care less about that, because he sees ma juseok as an absolute evil who needs to be stopped. keep in mind that motak is a detective- and unlike somun, he does not have much of an attachment to juseok. so this line of thought would be natural to him.

they're both so emotionally drained atp, this was bound to happen. hanul's death is what finally pushed motak to the edge- until he finds out that ma juseok tried to save hanul.

all in all, i'm just glad that hanul lived, and somun and motak reconciled, and now the counters look like they're finally ready to take hpg down together-- and this time as a team and somun will finally lean on them and the other counters can show what they're capable of as well !!

#FINALE TODAY LET'S GOOO #i'm going to miss them so much #it was not the best season but watching them every weekend was fun #and i'm going to miss somun and hana and the whole little family T.T i'm so sad #also jo byeong gyu and yoo junsang's acting this episode were crazy good. like that fight??? it was so intense i was pulling at my hair #bc i didn't want my beloved father-son duo to fight #anyways #the uncanny counter 2 #the uncanny counter: counter punch #so mun #ga mo tak #jo byeong gyu #yoo jun sang #kdrama #do hana #kim sejeong
