— [ ♡ ]  it’s still a weird sensation for her, seeing the gold plaque on her desk and the sign outside the door that indicates that this room was her actual office. there’s not much that marks it as her own, her being missing from the grey walls. but there are small markers of her personality around the room. the pastel pink coasters on her desk, the duck sticky notes that she uses for everything, the bunny neck pillow that she uses when no one is around, and the various photographs of her friends and families (and so what if the frames are cat themed?). even with all the markers, yooa still finds it difficult to wrap around her head that she’s no longer an undergraduate student. now she’s the one who’s responsible for the education of various students, and she’s not going to to lie, she’s a confident person most of the time, but she still feels nervous that she’ll mess up one day. 

 it’s her office hours, but she knows that it’s very unlikely that an actual student would actually come in. and that is the reason why she is using her bunny neck pillow because even though she is meeting with someone today, danbi technically isn’t her student. so maintaining a strict professional atmosphere is thrown out the window. though it seemed like that never existed in the first place with their first interaction being danbi crying in her arms. but details. yooa slips her phone out of her pocket, sending the younger a text letting her know that she was in her office, but that danbi could take her time heading over. 

while she waits, yooa pulls out a few text books and various papers (her old notes, translated into korean because she took calculus in america). she knows that she didn’t have to prepare so much, but when she commits to something, yooa does everything to the best of her abilities. typical overachiever tendencies that her brother always teases her endlessly about. but even so, she’s thinks it’s one of her best qualities. 

❝ hey! you made it. ❞ she says with a small smile when danbi’s head appears by her doorway. ❝ i’m going to sound nerdy saying this, but let’s get some math done. ❞
