he  would  ask  if  the  eleventh  had  a  death  wish,  if  he  didn't  already  know  the  answer  —  for  surely  someone  BRAZEN  as  to  toy  with  lightning  so  casually  was  clearly  lacking  in  any  sense  of  self  preservation  whatsoever.  teeth  grit;  the  balladeer's  hands  curl  into  fists.  it's  a  genuine  struggle  to  fight  back  his  irritation,  like  smothering  the  flames  of  a  raging  fire.  a  repulsive,  weak  flaw  of  his  —  those  emotions  that  writhe  within  him,  violent  enough  to  verge  on  HUMAN.  it's  a  reaction  he  wants,  surely.  and  what  a  childish  motive  that  is  —  ignoring  the  fact  that  kunikuzushi  is  equally  known  to  prod  at  others  for  the  sake  of  drawing  forth  an  entertaining  response.  (  he  simply  prefers  to  take  the  easy  route  and  use  his  sharp  tongue.  )

he's  equally  tempted  to  use  that  sharp  tongue  now  —  though  he  has  a  sneaking  suspicion  any  insults  he  deigns  to  hurl  childe's  way  will  simply  bounce  off  of  him  like  water  droplets  on  a  duck's  back.  seems  the  balladeer  must  stoop  to  his  level. so be it.
