this is self-indulgent but I was thinking about what would happen if Cereza (my oc insert for Juliana) met Alysa and the outcome is very interesting to me.

Cereza is very sociable and friendly.... but also delights specifically in doing things that she shouldn't. Granted, Drayton does as well, but Cereza is a total adrenaline junkie and very high strung.

I think she would be very interested in Alysa in the sense that dual type specialty is fascinating to her, and even more fascinating in the sense that Alysa is *specifically* a Dragon/Fairy specialist, both types that Cereza is incredibly partial to.

I think it would be funny if at first she accidentally scares Alysa off and Cereza is like. Stunned and devastated. She hasn't spooked anyone off like that since before her de-scary-ing character arc and probably hits the Shinji pose lmao. Drayton laughs his ass off when he hears about it.

I feel like it would be cute if they both plan really elaborate apologies and they both blurt it out at the exact same time when they see each other next. There's an awkward pause before Cereza snorts and it's impossible not to laugh. I think they can proceed to friendship after that.

Cereza would get this very strange sense of familiarity when she looks at Alysa but not figure it out for a while. She is like staring super hard at her and Alysa is freaking out internally like 'omg is something up with my face?' and Cereza snaps with no context and just says 'Lopunny!' and to this day Alysa doesn't know what that was about.

Similarly I feel like Alysa would observe Cereza's fuckass cat behavior and be reminded of Mimi. She experiments one day and leaves out colored pencils and a notebook on a table and watches from a hidden spot to see what Cereza will do. Cereza passes and, confirming her suspicions, physically cannot resist doodling a little sketch in the margins as a little graffiti for whomever it belongs to.

sdghdsgsh not the Shinji pose 😂 Cereza definitely sounds like someone Alysa would find intimidating at first (very funny because iirc Cereza is Kieran's height and Alysa's a few inches taller than him), but! She would absolutely feel bad about running away, and would try to apologize. That little moment between them is sooo adorable but I can for sure see it happening, and that would remove a lot of the fear on Alysa's end!

All of her anxiety and whatnot mainly revolves around social situations: being around people and especially talking to them. If she can stay off in her own corner, especially if the corner involves nature, she's surprisingly outgoing and bold but in a stupidly cute way - like how bunnies can have big attitudes despite looking so cuddly. The Lopunny thing is so accurate, for a couple of reasons dshgdsgk. This feisty, animated side of her can come out whenever her temper gets flared too, but that's SUPER uncommon.

I think they could get along great, because Alysa is very VERY patient by nature. As long as pokemon aren't being harmed and no one's being treated like trash, she has a high tolerance for a bunch of stuff. So, Cereza's inclination for chaos wouldn't be a huge deal. The drawing test would confirm her suspicion lmao, but she'd find it nice to try and understand Cereza better.

She would actually be inspired by Cereza's adrenaline junkie qualities! She would be down to go out and explore the Terarium or even Paldea's wilds with her, have an outdoorsy buddy! While he simps for her, even Drayton sometimes doesn't want to go out and do stuff smh.

Alysa would want to learn about Cereza's own pokemon because she adores pokemon as a whole, and they can even battle for fun too! Alysa do like the sport, and battling gives her a way to learn more about a trainer's dynamic with their team - serves as a glimpse into their own character.
