note: haneul and aera always warm my heart! these two are so cute. like hot chocolate and marshmallows. this takes place either before the scandal or after the amusement park thread. it could work both ways. maybe to avoid anymore scandals, this little cream puff just sneaks into the dorms. meanwhile haneul is probably having a heart attack or something idk. yeah, we’ll go with after the amusement park bc minseok giving haneul a hard time gives me life :”))) tbh i think i put too much thought into these memes i’m laughing. anyway, hope you enjoy!

    she’s hidden behind a lopsided arrangement of tteokbokki crackers and honey butter chips. the structure had been done too hastily, and was close to toppling onto one side from the lack of craftsmanship, but she could see through the darkness that haneul was keeping a steady hand at the base as though his life depended on it. both he and chaemin had begun stacking the bags as high as possible in an attempt to shield aera from sight when minseok had unlatched the front door and bellowed into the living space. he wasn’t supposed to have been back from his family gathering for a few more hours, but he made sure to announce he had to return earlier than planned as mirae had things of her own that she had to attend to before tomorrow. 

    the two males had all but become statues when the older male had called out towards them, but aera had been oblivious to the rush of panic that had overtaken the room and instead busied herself with making a duck bill out of two potato chips. movie nights had been something that both she and haneul had established since their days as trainees. the two of them watched everything from princess movies — the collection consisted of several of her favorites, much to aera’s delight, though haneul didn’t seem too fond of snow white after the eighteenth time — to comedies and documentaries. on a rare occasion, chaemin would also join the two of them for the evening with his own pick of films. 

    speaking of chaemin, it had been said male who had been the first one to spring into action when minseok announced his presence. he made quick work of switching off the lights, opening the door slightly to call out a ‘welcome home!’ to their older member so as to prevent him from snooping. but minseok had approached once he had shrugged off his coat, peering inside the darkened room, and huffed in disgust towards their lead vocalist who was settled beside the arrangement of snack foods. he muttered something or other about how the two of them were too old to be watching cartoons and having so many snacks before he retreated back to his own bedroom, and chaemin took the opportunity to signal to the two that the coast would be clear for a few seconds, ushering both aera and haneul out while they still had the chance.

    the tower had all but collapsed when haneul had moved, causing the female vocalist to stand in order to avoid the aftermath of the mountain of snacks that fell to the ground. she blinked as he turned towards her after a few seconds, a rushed suggestion of the two of them getting pizza filling the space between them. seemingly unaware of the true reasoning behind his offer to head out for some more substantial food, aera nods excitedly, a delighted smile pulling at her lips as she replies. ‘ let’s go get some pizza, haneul-oppa! ‘ but she says this a bit too loudly, and when both haneul and chaemin wince at the sound, she ducks her head a little sheepishly. ‘ i mean, let’s go get some pizza, haneul-oppa! ‘ she repeats in a hushed tone, but it appears that the damage has already been done. her voice echoes around the otherwise quiet dormitory, and as both she and haneul are heading towards the front door to escape, minseok opens his own and questions if someone else was there with them. 

    well, that was the end of movie night for now. aera erupts into a fit of giggles as the two of them race off. she follows the male's lead, trailing closely behind him as they rush into the hallway and towards the emergency exit. the two of them all but jump down three flights of stairs, taking two steps at a time despite the fact minseok wouldn't be hot on their heels now that they've left the dorm. she lets out a few small pants from the sudden exertion once they've successfully escaped the building, puffs of air turning into more breathless laughter as nimble fingers reach out and clutch onto haneul's elbow. the two of them round a sharp corner before heading towards the alleyway, and she calls out to him with a bright grin. ‘ slow down, oppa! you’re going too fast! ‘
