anon, what about inspector im you say??

 “Inspector Im ( @jeoseungsaja )?” Well it makes sense, doesn’t it? There’s something about them that draws people in. Makes them feel calmer and more grounded than when they first came in. All in all, despite being in an occupation that asks for a critical eye, an iron fist, and even skepticism of the human, he still manages to radiate…warmth? Sincerity?  Either way, of course they’d be popular. 

It makes her wonder a lot sometimes why he keeps coming back to Lee’s shoebox office, then. They don’t get anything out of it, bringing the boss food or treating his wounds. Lee knows this: it’s probably why he’s so sharp with Inspector Im.

Maybe it pushes his buttons, pouring salt into an open wound. But another part, it’s almost cyclical, the way Inspector Im and Detective Lee go back and forth, push and pull in a dialogue of sharp edges against rounded corners. If Inspector Im keeps worrying about Detective Lee, then Detective Lee reminds them that they get nothing for their concern. Nothing of worth in his eyes. 

Lucky for him ( and her ) Inspector Im doesn’t care. Or maybe they do and see something of worth out of this, helping outliers like Lee.

And her too. 

Which is why she furrows her brow- not necessarily at the fact that Inspector Im is popular and therefore well-liked, but rather…

“Don’t you have anything better to do?” The words fall out of her mouth innocent and yet somehow, there’s something SOUR in there too. “If you have time to bother him, why don’t you do something more productive with your time?”
