          Gaara offered the girl a rare, indulgent smile ( though it did not reach his eyes, tired as they were ). he knew he’d been pushing himself too hard, but his diplomatic duties in the leaf would not take care of themselves. illness was not something he was accustomed to — his health had been almost freakishly good for a majority of his life — and so it was hard to know his own boundaries and limitations. his niece, for all intents and purposes, seemed to recognize them far better than he ever could.
