Send ’Fearmonger’ for a drabble about one of my muse’s worst fears. / accepting!
@oniblooded said: Fearmonger (just because I’m curious)
The fear of death / the fear of losing someone dear to your heart.  It’s a common fear that almost everyone has, and each person had discovered said fear under certain but mostly common circumstances.
And Jay discovered it first with Zane, with his great sacrifice. “——ZANE, NO!” Jay yells out. He was so ready to rush in and save him without a second thought or without a plan. But Sensei Wu stopped him. All Jay could do was to reach out. Then he was taken aside, over to the manhole where the others went too and hid from the great icy blast of what had been the plan that Zane wanted to happen. They came out, and all was left was the frozen terrain; Zane’s death left a big impact on his surroundings, and most of all, was the thing to defeat the Overlord.
And yet Jay hadn’t cared for the Overlord’s defeat. His heart was set on the loss of their friend, the White Ninja, and that heart of his wept.
Next came the letter. Jay had made a stupid wish, wishing he wasn’t born into a poor family. Nadakhan heard and came around, granting such a wish that the next second the mailman came and gave him a letter. Jay read it aloud: “Your father has - has passed away, leaving you with his inheritance.” Just saying the words made his voice waver, right on the brink of passing out.
He had fully believed his wish had killed his father, Ed Walker. So he summoned his elemental dragon and flew to the Junkyard which was located in the Sea of Sands. Apparently, Jay was wrong. Ed wasn’t dead. His father, his real father that is, was Cliff Gordon who passed away recently, thus gaining the letter that speaks of his inheritance.
Nya was the next one. She died in his arms, poisoned by the Tiger Widow’s venom. It was supposed to be used on Nadakhan; to weaken him, and some of it splashed onto Nya. The venom wasn’t deadly to Djinns, but it was to humans.
Yet it almost broke him... ( like Nadakhan wanted. )
He cried, and said his wish; his final wish, one that came from the heart. His wish turned back time, and Nadakhan’s lamp was never found again. Nya lived, and no one ( minus Nya and Jay ) remembered what happened. But he’ll remember.
And lastly was Cole. His best friend. It broke his heart, no, it sunder his heart into a million pieces when he watched him fall. They were on the ship, or more so gripping at the ladders that were part of the ship. Nya did something, pulled a lever and the thrusters turned the wrong way. They faced Cole’s rope ladder and caused it to snap. Jay yelled out his name so loud, an arm outstretched towards him; reaching out like he had for Zane so many years ago.

And then Cole falls. And Jay couldn’t do anything but watch in horror. Cole descends into darkness. And Jay’s heart wept so loud that day. He clung onto the rope as the ship flew away and cried his heart out. He screamed, tears running down his cheeks. He can’t believe he lost his best friend, and part of him wanted to blame Nya but he couldn’t. So he screamed, cried, and part of him swore that an electric storm was on the horizon when he mourned.
Cole was dead, or so Jay had believed. He never would have thought that Cole would’ve survived such a great fall. And when he saw Cole again. Jay dashed and hugged him, almost cried at the sight of him.
Who will perish next? Or more so, who will dance with death and get away with it? Zane had. Nya had. Cole had. Will Kai be next? Sensei Wu? Lloyd? His parents again? The entire city? They had so many close calls that it was ridiculous. Yet Jay was forever grateful that his friends were still here and grateful for his parents, and every other living person or creature.
But the fear lives on as fears do.
