#'Homer really loved Eumeaus this character he had created and here instead of writing about him he felt impelled to speak to him directly'#OUGH#'you Eumeaus' means sm to me...........#imagine loving ur creation so much he is no longer a character to u but a tangible person that u cannot help talking to directly oh im sick#also telemachus is my boy :) my son :) i birthed him :)#having a lot of father-son meeting thoughts sob sniffle#like always thinking about how book 16 of the odyssey is called odysseus meets his son - not reunites or reconciles or any other synonym#bc he left telemachus as a baby and now he is a man before him#this is the first time seeing such a stranger :(#and not only is he a man he is thoughtful and strong and godlike - and he is his son#ough telemachus <3#i did however keep thinking about the iliad throughout reading#which is fine bc the odyssey is literally the events following after but the iliad my forever love <333#ellie.talks
