decided to try playing kancolle again (probably a bad idea) because one of the new event ships is cute

the experience so far:

a) apparently back in 2020 they made it even harder to bypass region lock. despite adding more and more foreign ships. lmao. also i don't think it actually stops anybody that cared enough to bypass the DMM region block anyways so lmao^2

b) it's been long enough I've forgotten how to navigate a lot of it. gotta have the wiki open all the time again. rip

c) oh hey that's cool some of my old ships have gotten new remodels i should upgrade them! oh right all the cool new shit requires special limited-availability items so fuck me i guess

d) whoops! my battleship got her paint scratched by the machine gun on a PT boat! guess that'll be three and a half hours in the repair docks!

#absolutely astounding to just immediately get blasted with all the things that made the game a pain to play #also astounding how the nature of the game means that every cool new gameplay feature basically just makes it worse #'yeah we added new objectives to event maps so it's not just go to boss -> kill boss.'#'yeah this means the map takes twice as many successful runs. no the gameplay isn't actually any different'#why does this E-1 have THREE PHASES
