i like when they start scientific articles with a quote to set the tone
#though sometimes i think hmm. might be a liiiiittle bit inappropriate#for ex. a paper on deaths related to newborn circumcision that i am reading starts with the thomas hobbes quote:#'the life of man is nasty brutish and short' and it's like um okay children are dead but sure#my employer's opinions
