Not-so-different months but this one's kinda lengthy.

My to-do list of December:

Finish writing script for The Rerooting of an Asphodel: I did!

Get back to my poor book (as usual agh): oh surprise, I did not.

Write my most recent IF idea ‘cause I need the catharsis of doing something low-key personal for the first time in forever: I did start, and it evolved… a lot.

Will prolly get my songs for ShuffleComp early this month so before January is done I’m gonna write an IF based on one or more: not yet.

Gonna probably finish today and tomorrow the last scenes of the project Breezy and I joined (teammates yay) for this Winter VN jam: Of course I did.

There’s a chance I might learn enough front-end programming to start to design my own site so I can store my games, writing I make public, and all that sort of thing in the future: it's in progress, been doing a bit more graphic design actually, trashy but still.

We might be onto something more for this Winter VN jam, Breezy experimenting with a new engine…: okay no.

What happened in December-January

These two months were more or less as eventful: 

Binnorie release! This is my second VN I am co-creative lead in, this time along with our lead artist zho. I collaborated mostly as the writer and project manager. We submitted it for Sealed with a Kiss and Once Upon A Time VN jams, but we plan on adding a couple of things we missed soon (such as a bonus ending). Also, something I really enjoyed about this was working again with some folks I met on other projects.

A Little Bitty Christmas release! I mentioned in my to-do list finishing a few scenes of a Winter VN project, and this is it! We were super close to not making it on time but we did lol. It's not something in the genre I usually work in, but Breezy invited me to lend our lead Chiki a hand so of course I did and am glad.

Rose of Corax release! Totally unexpected because I was already joining SWAK with Binnorie BUT I worked/am working as a writer for Fredrick's route in this game with Team Swan Dive (yes, we got a name). Despite this being our director Mari's first time leading a jam team she did amazingly at keeping it all organized and with the team's encouragement it was a really comfy space to work in! now we're aiming for an update for another jam.

Ninefold Promise release! A happy surprise, it's doing really well! I got in late as my role here was/is of QA and page designer, and the team keeps cooking…

Bonus tiny update: Me + Take Two Take Two is a VN by Nekoii Studio andddd I recently became part of the writing team to expand beyond the demo made for Otome Jam 2024. I'm having such a nice time trying out a sweeter style for this game and am so thankful for their immense patience with me, special thanks to our director Autumn.

Extra: updates on existing works…

The Rerooting of an Asphodel. Outside of writing, the last things I had to do were to coordinate with VAs and composer to get the lines and og tracks done. I did, and with VAs I got a little behind because of work in other games but we're good while tracks are in. On the writing side, I finished the script (also wrote some AU for myself heh) and our editor edited it all which is great. We are almost done, but we are on hiatus right now until all members are ready to finish.

Mystery IF. Okay, this is the IF idea I last mentioned. I initially thought it would be purely a Renaissance psychological horror tragedy involving characters that of course represent certain aspects of a concept, but with time I accidentally ended up making this that was supposed to be a short story into a novella most likely: outline is 10K now and I added 4 endings besides the 2 I originally planned. Moreover, the story focuses more on character relationships now because we get more time to build them and it's more drama with surreal elements. Don't wanna blab here too much, but there will be more details as soon as I start uploading by "chapters" and make the intro post.

Tiny article. School finished and apparently I like torture because I miss essay writing and such, so I'm writing article-esque notes for myself based on some "niches" I find in the VN/IF community. I might make them into simple articles and publish just to have them out and neater. I do that with these logs anyway, that aren't as neat as they could be but meh.

Upcoming VN for Yandere jam. I am in fact joining in unexpectedly so we're in a process with Breezy of crafting the VN and recruiting. Fingers crossed it's all going well.

Binnorie Update. Planning and testing feasibility of a couple of new features for a post jam update.

Write my new IF before summer ends cause then I might be gone, lost to uni hassle.

Write the "experimental" IF idea I got from the ShuffleComp jam I could do, or make it a flash fic piece.

Continue my site's construction (I feel like such an architect lol).But since it's slow I might just do one in Wordpress.

Look at all my story concepts half-baked and/or in pause to see which to rethink, or mashup, and resume. Gonna prioritize.

Wish list

Yes, I realize I'm a bit delusional and especially as I hang onto the last shreds of teenage freedom so I had to add this list on this occasion.

Write a mini series with screenplay format. I might have got a gig as I was casted for the writer role in an ongoing analog horror series, but let's see what happens.

Write a oneshot. What lovely artist would want to help me with this I wonder? hshs

Host a game jam. Already have a friend who might do it so if they do I'm probably just gonna be happy being moral support ahah.

Practice doing BGs digitally. I'm not super bad at traditional ones and they're what I most enjoy, so it might be my first step into digital art for fun.

Do translations for games: be it my own or others' I wanna exercise my bilingual brain more.

Hypothetically, I could make a server. 2 reasons why I'm kinda attracted to the idea: I wanna put to use what I learn from the community management part of the diploma I'm starting this summer, and while I'm not famous or anything (worse, I'm just a writer) I've got some content to go off and do it. Modding would be an interesting experience, especially when I'm mostly observing, in short. For now let's ignore he cons (:

Meses no tan diferentes, pero éste es algo largo.

Mi lista anterior:

Escribir el prefacio del libro de mi amiga (todavía): no. Sí estuve ocupada con proyectos no mencionados aquí porque están en inglés PERO esta vez ambas estábamos ocupadas con sus chismesitos así que me excuso un poquito jej.

Hacer algunas traducciones de escritos para mi clase o de videojuegos: hice 1, así que sí.

El mes pasado lanzamos con mi estudio The Breezy Sloth Studios una demo llamada Rerooting of an Asphodel que queremos terminar este mes para la jam de Dying Year, así que si alcanza el tiempo quiero traducir el juego al español apenas pueda este mes: en realidad no se pudo porque me puse directamente a terminar el juego y recién ahí traducir. Creo que no hay mucha demanda, pero algún proyecto voy a agarrar para probar estadísticas. La cuestión es: ¿cuál?

Para finalizar el año mi grupo de escritura creativa plantea pequeñas exposiciones por lo que está la posibilidad de que escriba algo en español o haga una traducción. Hmm, podría combinar la traducción de la demo o juego completo con esto…: me fui por escribir un prólogo para mi ficción interactiva, la cuál terminé traduciendo a inglés y siguiendo así… Ya entiendo porque me matan con "gringa" ugh.

Puede que aprenda suficiente programación de front-end como para empezar a diseñar mi propio sitio así puedo guardar mis juegos, escritos públicos, y toda esa clase de cosas en el futuro: está en progreso, pero está.

Lista de deseos

Aclaro que me salteo los planes para febrero y lo que hice en los meses anteriores porque no hay nada en concreto jeje. Esta lista es diminuta porque solo incluye proyectos legibles en español o que no tengan que ver con el idioma.

Practicar hacer más fondos digitalmente. No soy super mala haciendo los tradicionales y son lo que mas disfruto, así que puede ser mi primer paso en el arte digital por disfrute.

Haz traducciones para juegos: ya sean míos o de otros, quiero ejercitar más mi cerebro bilingüe.

Hipotéticamente, podría crear un servidor. 2 razones por las que me atrae la idea: quiero poner en práctica lo que aprenda en la parte de community management de la diplomatura que estoy empezando este verano y, aunque no soy famosa ni nada por el estilo (peor aún, solo soy una escritora), tengo algo de contenido para hacerlo. En resumen, moderar sería una experiencia interesante, especialmente cuando estoy principalmente observando. Por ahora ignoremos las desventajas (:
