was naming an argonian character and looking for jel words and just realized you named shap mota "frog hunter"... we stan a legend
most of my argonians besides dusty and solvej have jel names with intentional meanings (though xikeels name was developed before we had any canon lore on jel). like masumeht means “tooth from a big mouth”
too lazy to look it up rn but iirc for the rest of them:
dimikei - vivid/bright eyes
rus-vakka - sunlit dance
ma-sahtee/ei-sahtee - mouth full of stars/eyes full of stars
kot-veesk - dark ghost
#the names arent intended for translation like#masumeht means 'tooth from a big mouth' in the same way that like#for example the name richard means like 'brave ruler'#and when translated directly usually would be different ie#'masu' means 'big mouth reptile' and 'meht' means 'tooth/(egg) cracker'#anon

Do you have any advice on coming up with Argonian names?
heres a relevant post
i give pretty much all of mine jel names (the selection of which is relatively limited, but you can get a lot out of the extant ones). and treat them as not being intended for literal translation.
ie masumeht comes from “masu” which means “big mouth reptile”, and “meht” which means ‘cracker’ (as in ‘egg cracker’ ie eggtooth) or ‘tooth’
so the literal meaning is ‘big mouthed reptile tooth” but a more accurate translation is “tooth from a big mouth” with a meaning of “little but with a lot of force” and might be given to a child with a strong personality and/or who likes to bite things
#the one thing is the new eso chapter 'elder scrolls oblivion 2' has a first part that takes place#in blackwood so im hoping and praying that means new jel words bc ive pretty much exhausted the current canon ones#anon
