i feel like there's a stark difference between criticism of specific labels (which do not form or exist in vacuums) and denial over your material reality (the experiences that you have decided a specific label fits) and people online could really learn the difference between these two scenarios

#saw someone awhile ago say 'sexuality is NEVER problematic'#as a reason for why it was ok for them to label their sexuality as 'everyone EXCEPT -AMABs-' which is so....#i criticized the split attraction model for being used outside of aro/ace communities and everyone on here reacted like i shot their dog #'hey maybe consider unpacking why you feel this way and the potential harm these labels may cause for everyone else in the community' ...#... should not be seen as inherently bigoted ?#idk the major focus on validity above anything else was such a weird time #the ignorant biphobe telling bi people to 'pick a side' is different from someone who is telling you --#-- that you should reconsider using a label that sounds like a symptom of extreme trauma as an identity
