it ain't much (and it's a little more flag-wavey than I actually am irl but a mainstream Democrat was my target audience here so I adjusted my tone accordingly) but here's what I submitted:

I am writing as a constituent and prospective voter of Kamala Harris for President in 2024. I want to say and make explicitly clear that I am deeply disturbed by the United States of America's involvement with the ongoing genocide of the Palestinian people. The United States is in a unique position to have been on both sides of the issue of colonization and domination from a colonial power. We caused irreparable damage and trauma to the native peoples of this land when we arrived, displacing and killing millions and forever shaping the future of generations of Indigenous Americans to come. We are now watching Israel repeat these same actions in Palestine, killing and destroying a beautiful land with a level of impunity that should make one's blood run cold. There is no acceptable reason to kill children. There is no acceptable reason to bomb hospitals and schools. The violence at play is startling to say the least and I, for one, am disgusted by my tax dollars' hand in it. The pro-genocide voice of the US Federal government is not my voice. I beg Vice President Harris to reconsider her position and demand a ceasefire. I don't pretend to how to make Israelis and Palestinians live in peace (my understanding was they already were before Western colonial interests got involved). But I do know, and can say with perfect confidence, that what Israel is doing is wrong. We have done enough damage to that region. We have bombed enough homes and killed enough people. I do not support this violence and I am tired of my tax money funding it. Demand a ceasefire now and redirect all our war funds into humanitarian aid for Palestinian people. This is my demand as your constituent and a lifelong Democrat. Thank you, God bless America, and may Palestine one day finally be free.
