Just saw something here and there saying Alois reacting the way he does in Tru Piss, aka, not joining Billy, doesn't make sense, given how he "worships the grounds Jerry walks on".
But...
In Tru Piss, both Alois and Leonie make it very clear they berate Billy for joining up with Jerry's killers - something even Billy notes but Hubert tells them how they will deal with them later.
More importantly, Alois not joining the Empire makes perfect sense if you consider his other character traits (compeltely shat upon by Nopes to make him the one-note Jerry supporter that person flanderised him as), mainly, loving his family who lives in Faerghus (so by all means he wouldn't bring war to his own home!), feeling remorse for the ones he killed - and yet, wishing to be the shield and the sword to protect the ones who cannot protect themselves.
Hell, adding to Nopes shitting on him, Alois feels bad for receiving money in his FE16 paralogue - something Shamir teases him for, but ultimately admires - so how the hell would he thrive and accept to be a mercenary ? Especially since Jerry is paid, and participates in post-job feasts (without his kid, of course) organised by villages who aren't swimming in money?
Claude gets more exposition because he is a Lord and not a NPC, but the character that was completely assassinated by Nopes is definitely Alois - who, without doylist reasons, would never 1/ditch the CoS and its people when they need support the most 2/most definitely never join Supreme Leader, especially if Agarthans who are associated to her iced Jerry, on top of all the stuff Flamey does (like Remire and kidnapping people).
