"Disabled people understand their disability better than those who don't have it" does not equal "every disabled person has a thorough and accurate knowledge of their condition and can consequently tell others this information flawlessly" and I genuinely can't believe that has to be said
#m/cc#the extension from 'disabled people often have to become experts on their conditions' to#'disabled people are all experts on their conditions and anyone who gives misinformation isn't actually disabled'#it's bizarre#the pendulum swing from disabled people being stupid and naive and doctors all-knowing to this idea of#disabled people with a high technical knowledge of their conditions being the arbiters of disability#and anyone who DOESN'T have that information is therefore not really disabled#it's. bizarre!! it's the weirdest defense of fakeclaiming I've seen! stemming from#'someone who gives highly inaccurate information about a condition they claim to have might not be genuine'#and somehow morphing into 'if I suspect the thing you're saying about your disability isn't 100% scientifically based#then you're making up everything'#it's so wild. I hate it
