We will be determining how the bracket is seeded (randomized or not, etc.) from YOUR guys' opinions! we'll start asking once the submissions close.

in principle, we will only be accepting submissions for characters who wear glasses, NOT contacts, for like at least about 50% of their screentime. but it doesn't mean nobody else will be accepted! characters who wear them very rarely, wear a monocle, or have some other weird thing going on that we can't even imagine right now will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.

keep in mind we are two people who don't know every piece of media in the world, and we can't spend all of our time doing research!! for this reason, try to provide evidence if it needs to be provided!

the criteria for who the superior glasses-wearer is up to you: do they represent the SPIRIT of glasses-wearing better? are they more iconic for the fact of wearing glasses than the other one? do they wear their glasses BETTER? or are they just your FAVORITE out of the two?!?! doesn't matter. but we're thinking it's mostly about the latter.

There are some characters we will be including by default because at least One of us Likes them (Velma Scooby Doo, Alphys Undertale, Berdly Deltarune, Kim Kitsuragi from Disco Elysium, Teru Mikami from Death Note... maybe more...)

i have so many thoughts right now, but if gerudos were real, like, there are so many aspects of their culture that would be way different and its not even just that they dont make sense because the writers didnt properly think about them, they don't make sense because of the explicit desire of the writers to sexualize them and because the assumptions the writers had were so deeply western & christian that they just assumed them to be the default and oughhh i hate it so much

a culture of desert people would not fucking wear silks and expose tons of skin & hair all the time. especially OoT designs make no practical sense? its literally just so that they look hot and the following games kind of kept that design (they didnt appear in a lot of titles afterwards so this wasnt a super established part of the zelda canon, they clearly could have chosen a more practical design for their clothes for botw and totk, but, yk, they didnt)

and like. a society that doesnt really get the concept of "men", Why On Earth would they be monogamous and heteronormative? why would they care about men? like? even if your answer is "for reproduction", why would they strive to be in a *relationship* with a man? like? men arent exactly native to the regions they live in? why would *every* woman hike out to find some dude to date?

and like. i thought it was SO interesting that ganondorf has 2 moms, right? like, even though theyre twin sisters and not a lesbian couple, why WOULDNT a society like that raise children among sisters or friends or as a group, outside of relationships? but the concept never comes up again and they all apparently travel hyrule when they are old enough and look for a husband. (and you know its just like that because they couldnt even *consider* people thinking there was anything gay going on there)

and why would the gerudo make a man their king? thats kinda like if we as a society noticed an intersex person and immediately made them the pope? people usually do not really LIKE people that arent Like Them, and dont just make them their leader? only a person having a very patriarcial worldview (which just DOESNT MAKE SENSE for the gerudo to have) would decide that the only man born would be their leader?

and in every instance where you encounter gerudo talking about men, they clearly see them as weaker than them, like, you see this in so many interactions, that gerudo think of women to be the Stronger Gender, so why does that not apply to male gerudos? like? ganondorf is kind of a Sorcerer Who Has A Sword, so why would a folk of warrior women think of him as inherently superior to them and stronger than them in some way?

i think its fitting that a person who hasnt socialized much with men might be a bit akward and might not know what to say or might not be able to relate to them very well, but then why do they not seem to be bothered by talking to women of other races? i mean, they might be all women but theres probably more reason to be akward around a zora if you never met one than there is reason to be akward around a man if you never met one? does that make sense?

I often forget that what I say, will come out differently. As in, people will hear it one way, but what I'm thinking is totally different.

A lot of that comes down to my autism and ADHD. But mainly my autism.

I often have trouble saying what I mean. And that makes things hard. Because when I say something, people hear it, but not as I'm thinking. (I don't even know if this makes sense. But this does prove my point at least.)

I also tend to talk without thinking. And this doesn't really help my case.

I have said this once, but I'll say it again.

If I have said something offensive, it was most likely an accident. Sometimes I say offensive things without realizing it. Mostly because I didn't think it would be offensive. Or I worded it in a way that makes it seem like I'm being offensive, when I'm not trying to be.

If I ever say something offensive, just let me know. I probably didn't even know I did. So just let me know, and I'll correct myself. And try to remember for the future.

I do understand that I can cross lines by accident. Crossing lines without realizing, is something I've done my whole life. I try and try to not cross those invisible lines. But I always fail to do so.

When a line is invisible, I cross them. Why? Because I can't see them. A lot of those lines are visible to others. But they are not for me.

If you can show me that line, then I can do a better job at not crossing over them. But keep in mind that I'm slow to pick things up. So even if you try to explain, it still might take me awhile to finally see the line.

But just know that I try my best to see the lines. Despite the fact that most of them are invisible.

You seeing everything in black and white is the real problem here, as I'll get into later. Yes, both sides funnel toward the more extreme positions, but this happens with literally every two-sided argument on the internet. This does not mean the positions between don't exist.

Scientific theory isn't fact set in stone, especially in a soft science like psychology. Trauma would obviously make someone highly dissociative, so with so many people claiming to have not developed OSDDID from trauma, this is a fine hypothesis to test.

Their system would not have existed without the trauma, so it's absolutely fair for them to call themselves traumagenic even if their plurality was achieved through typically endogenic/parogenic means. Traumagenic is not a synonym for disordered (though I imagine a tulpa system that formed in conscious response to trauma could get shaken up similarly to a system that formed as an unconscious response to trauma).

This is not an endo problem. This appears in young DID systems and singlets, which is an indication that this has nothing to do with plurality. Yes, more pro-endos will go along with it because they're more open in general, but two people who are respectively very much supportive of this and very much against this would be equally pro-endo because this has nothing to do with plurality.

This take is inherited from my host, but neopronouns are stupid. Pronouns are not a mandatory part of the language to begin with. If the short word I'm using to call you instead of your name is unique to you anyway, I can just use your name or a shortened version of it. A caveat to this is that I don't like "they", a typically plural word that we as a plural system especially need, being used as the default enby pronoun. Obviously there are reasons the language has ended up like this but if there is a local agreed-upon alternative like xe, I'm happy to use that.

In an ideal world I would like only gender-neutral singular and plural pronouns but at this point that's at least a century away. Maybe more realistic within my lifetime is abolishing pronouns entirely, because again, they are not mandatory.

Sure, there are a lot more than most endos would like to think -- an implosion on r/tulpas a few years ago implies they may be as high as 10-15% of the community -- but it's impossible to be certain from the outside, and why take the risk calling someone out when a false positive could have such awful consequences?

Also, as you already wrote previously, most people, especially anti-endos, don't actually know what's normal for systems, so you just end up in a recursive feedback loop of increasingly restrictive guidelines becoming furtherly detached from reality. The entire reason this divide exists in the first place is because anti-endos incorrectly believe that endos cannot exist because endogenic plurality works differently than theirs. (Assuming somewhat charitably here that anti-endos are mostly systems, which they are. six sentence sunday! this time i think ill focus on torchlight, but ill throw in a fun fact about from here to there as well

1. basically every single watcher in the OG draft was a woman, simply bc every single time i went “oh, this'll be easier with a different set of pronouns” and defaulted immediately to she/her. i realized i accidentally implied the cult was woman-only and swapped two or three of them to men, but. not uh, not that many, cuz it still is easier to do dialogue when people have different pronouns,

2. how martyn gets the information he does abt ren varies pretty greatly from the version of this i made up originally, which isn't a bad thing but it is sort of funny. ive said this on tumblr the day i made up the au, but originally most of the information abt ren was supposed to come from being around the city. i realized it wasnt super feasible (and wanted to give bigb more stuff to do) so stuff changed, but this was definitely a different story to start

3. related, martyn wasnt quite so... hopeless? desperate? in the plan? that sprung up on me while i was writing and i doubled back upon editing to make him worse. worked out pretty well, id say, to make everything abt the emotional core of the fic more interesting, but it wasnt quite intentional

5. the magical deadzone concept for martyn and grain was more relevant in the OG plot from point 2, but some minor changes were made w jimmy and bigb that made it not quite work out the same. it still words--they have to leave bc martyn cant fly and they cant cast on him--but originally the watchers let bigb and jimmy go specifically bc they were explicitly, in-text looking for unusual interactions with magic, like deadzones. thats more... loosely implied now, i guess

6. finally, your fun fact about here to there. the OG draft of the scene w the bow had martyn trying to convince ren to essentially create a fire aspect sword. i scrapped it bc i realized one) ren would definitely go with this, not go against it, two) i dont know how that would work without melting martyn’s sword or ren falling off the sword on his hand, three) neither of these men would consider these and i didnt want to deal with the stupid mess they were about to create

Also yeah that's a really good question!! Honestly, this update answered a bunch of questions but also opened SO many more. I do agree that this is one of my biggest questions too tbh, and actually now that you mention it I wonder that too!!!!! I went back to check before responding to this b/c I had the thought that maybe the eye color changes are more for the reader's sake than anything, but no yeah Mick's red eyes are specifically referenced and called out ASDFJKL; so yeah confirmed the eye colors Are happening that way. So yeah now I'm curious why no one has mentioned Dee's eyes yet? I def agree that I don't think she's realized anything has changed about herself yet, but maybe once things calm down a bit someone will ask her about it.

As for Bugs and Scoob... I get the sense that it's very possible they both already know what it means for each other, and that's why they haven't mentioned it. It's very possible they had some conversations during the timeskip about it, or otherwise they just have a sort of understanding. I do definitely want to see if this is talked about further, which I'm assuming it will be now that we're receiving so many more clues. I want to see how these puzzle pieces fit together, dammit!!!

YEAH THAT'S SOMETHING I WAS THINKING ABOUT!!! I think both of your theories definitely have some merit to them (and I think the former is especially interesting, because that implies so much about Magenta as a character), but I also wonder if it's possible that the beings, by default, speak that way, and it's only after you've made a pact with them that you can understand them perfectly. Hi it’s the person who send an ask a while ago about carrds and my response has been bothering me. What I meant to say is that a lot of the time people with carrds will share a lot of personal info that feels oddly invasive to read ? And that information is expected back and ppl without carrds can be seen as suspicious?

Plus the fact that it’s on another website, and links don’t always work on this godforsaken site. And ‘check carrd before interacting’ which is honestly very hard to do for every post, and people who have that take offense to it? I think i posted that a while ago, like many many months, i mainly wanted it to let people know it's ok to assign me any pronouns and names but that was kinda redundant, i think if you really care to be polite to me you'll send an ask regarding these and if not you're gonna make them up yourself, which is what i wanted anyway. And I’m really glad the gender identity part has been validating for you :’) I actually remember when I was first developing the characters, I think I defaulted to he/him for all of them (because of my own internal biases lol), but as I was fleshing them out more, he/him didn’t make sense for a lot of them! And I’ve received a lot of feedback on the characters’ pronouns being validating, so I’m glad people have enjoyed seeing that aspect of their characters <3

just a reminder before i forget since national coming out day is soon (october 11th) that coming out is an extremely personal step that has to be decided based on each person and their own level of comfort. also, because of how personal it is, coming out is very much defined by the person coming out.

coming out is often a process and doesn’t happen all at once. even LGBTQ+ people who have been out for years, decades, often find themselves in new situations where they have to come out to someone new, at work or being introduced to someone or any number of things. in a society where cishet is assumed to be the default until proven otherwise, we never truly stop coming out.

whether or not you are out does not define how valid your identity is. if you aren’t out because of your safety, or because of your comfort, or because you’re not sure in your self identification yet and you want to be sure before you say anything or literally any other reason - that doesn’t mean you’re less valid. your experiences are your own. you know yourself better than anyone else. don’t let anyone pressure you into coming out.

don’t let others tell you that you need to come out because otherwise you’re “not really (x identity)”. don’t let others tell you that you need to come out because otherwise you’re being untruthful or lying by omission. don’t let others tell you that you need to come out for any reason, just don’t let others tell you that you need to come out. but also don’t let them tell you NOT to come out. i know the pressure can be unbearable at times, but try to remember that this journey is your own and it’s not decided by anyone else other than you.

and finally, don’t be that person telling someone else to come out. and DEFINITELY dont out someone. it’s not your job to decide that for anyone other than yourself. outing someone can put them in direct danger, can put them at risk for losing their job or their home or their support, but also even if they ARENT in direct danger if they come out - just don’t do it. it’s not your business. i don’t care if you’re tired of having to switch pronouns around their family or pretend they like girls when they don’t or whatever. it is not your business. and it’s not your business to try and tell them that they need to make a very life-changing choice. it’s one thing to support them and encourage them if they’re considering coming out, but it’s very different to pressure and force them into something they aren’t ready for. step back.

this is an important thing for many LGBTQ+ people. it’s not just a youth thing, either - people of all ages and all walks of life come out all the time. someone in your life may be preparing to come out and you don’t know yet. it could be anyone. and it’s such an old part of the community and culture it’s almost like a ritual now, something that is recognized as important and personal and sort of a rite of passage at times. so please be respectful about it, and understand that you come out when YOURE ready. you don’t even have to come out at all, ever, if that’s your decision. this isn’t the only opportunity anyone will have to come out, and it’s not a requirement to come out. and besides, coming out can mean many things. you can even celebrate by coming out to yourself, and by accepting yourself.

Quick first thoughts on the first ep of the Hypmic Anime. Spoilers beware (and im writing this as I watch so :p)

Otome’s speech is.... questionable from a persuasive point of view. Manga did a great job of introducing her (which you can read here) but they really cut out the more terrifying parts of her speech and how she uses force to show people that she's not to be messed with

Its cool seeing everyone in their respective environments though. thats cool. Though they could have added Sasara and Kuuko (shhh i know why they didn’t let me dream)

I love how poppy the typography is. Its amazing how the visuals just leap out at you. The OP does a great job of this. The first few seconds before the title really gives me Persona 4 OG OP vibes with the influx of information given. The rest is a clear concise and streamlined way that still gives character. Animation is sparse but still carries across a general idea of each character and shows off each character object. Rendering is really nice and pays a bit of homage to the posing artwork thats done for the MVs. They also do their division hand signals and thats cute

Love how the OP has blatant HifuDoppo and DRB matchup foreshadowing

so far I really like what theyre going for. BB is about brotherly familial bonds and they show the goods and the bads. Jiro and Saburo bickering right out the gate really cements the fact that they get along like cats and dogs but you can still see that they love each other, working together when the situation calls for it

Now the 3d models. Theyre... not great but usable if you don’t look too hard. They serve their purpose and don’t actively detract from the viewing experience.

Visual typography in the rap itself are fun and poppy but they dont.... speak to me? like theyre there yes and I appreciate them but the only ones that got me excited were from Ichiro’s rap

I love how they interpret the Hypnosis Speakers though. Esp. Saburo’s organs. That was super creative and I love it! If there was one thing that I felt was missing from the franchise was a deeper exploration of the speakers but the anime puts a new and fresh spin on it! Love it, especially with their attack patterns!

If the production team ever feels inclined to, Id love to see those info sheets on Otome’s desk released. There seems to be very interesting info and stats written out about each member (like capabilities, personal status etc.) They all seem unique too so I really really really hope they release images of those sheets

Rio striking out on his own is interesting. Out of everyone in MTC hes the biggest team player yet here he trusts his teammates to go ahead. This either displays Rio’s willingness to trust his teammates or it becomes very OOC if the anime wants to set him up as a lone wolf like character

I love how they specify its a drug deal. It means that Jyuto surely will show up and it also shows that Samatoki knows Jyuto’s motives and willingly gives black market info that he knows aligns with Jyuto’s goal. Thats A+ detail writing there and a great establishing characteristic for both of them

OOohhhhhhhhhhhhh man Asunama-san’s voice acting is god tier his work as Samatoki is phenomenal. He pulls of Samatoki’s threatening voice so well with those almost calm words before his voice becomes loud and confrontational. Those rolling syllables in contrast to Komada-san’s almost lyrical and airy speech and Kamio-san’s strict and enunciated words is such a delight to hear. It just speaks to how amazing and great these Seiyuu’s are in order to pull of such amazing work

Im so biased but MTC has such a better rap than BB im so sorry. Just by watching Samatoki’s part, the imagery is amazing. Even the arrival of his Hypnosis Speaker was awesome and sent a shiver down my spine. using the lyrics to form blades and blood was such a great thing to do. Theres so much more variety that just him standing there and shots of his hypnosis speaker. The old fashioned vignette shots, the four panel spread, the nods to old Kurosawa era films are great and I love these small details. Even the typography looks better.

Again, the interpretations with the speakers is fresh and new. Its great and I love the different imagery and attack patterns. Each one is so unique but carries across each different style of rap.

The 3d modles aren’t any better tho lol

(Hi this is Astro who is reading over their assessment again and making a note. Yeah I’m a bit harsh on BB’s rap. I’m not going to change it since I still stand by it and this post is supposed to be a documentation of my first impressions. I think one of the reasons why I’m so harsh on BB is because of their dynamic as a trio of brothers. They Have to have a more uniform approach than the other divisions. Which in of itself isn’t a terrible thing, it just doesn’t catch my eye as much as MTC did. Thats all! I definitely don’t hate BB, they’re maybe my 3rd favorite division out of the current lineup [not including TDD era teams like Kujaku Posse, MCD, and Naughty Busters] its just that their rap was pretty meh)

Samatoki crouching like a real gangstar and the cigarette kiss killed me

But also my initial assessment of Rio possibly being characterized as a lone wolf is very much jossed and im very thankful for that. It seems that Rio was simply trusting his teammates to carry out their part of the plan while he carried out his own. I like that, it really shows how much of a team these three are and that they genuinely trust each other. He’s also comfortable enough around them to invite them to dinners after work casually and not just for special occasions.

Oooh! we get Ramuda on his design process which is really cute. the inside of his studio is super cute and retro and i love it. the poppy old music you would hear in a cafe or 90′s resturaunt is also really cute (astro note: yeah i know that in ARB you see the interior of Ramuda’s office but its kinda different seeing it animated)

the translation i have has gentaro speaking in early modern english (Shakespearian english for those who aren’t english nerds like me) but from what I can hear, he doesn’t speak in a particularly old fashioned way? Its more formal than old? and hes speaking without any of his character persona lying thing that he likes to do (as he refers to himself as “Shousei” throughout the segment where hes in Ramuda’s office which is kind of his default pronoun of choice). so its kinda odd for the translation to go in that direction but im not complaining

Gendice banter is gold but it feels... flat? a little? it doesn’t have the same impact as in the drama cds or in the manga? i feel? Also Ramuda using gratuitous english is??? idk how to feel about that

kjshf thats against the rules Ramuda omgggg,,,,,,,, (astro note again: while watching i was under the assumption that using your hypmic for monetary gain such a as buskering [which is what FP is doing] is against the rules. May not be the case but whatever)

FP’s rap might be my favorite in terms of tune and lyrics though. It’s a nice laid back bop and really gives of chill vibes. the integration of 3d and 2d is really nice and i love how they play off each other in the rap. The wordplay is so fun with little nods here and there and the beat is poppy too so it really energizes me.

Ramuda’s rap concerns me slightly since he makes very subtle and small nods towards his past (being created in a laboratory, warfare, and his overall very unpleasant life experiences) but spins it into something cutesy. It could be a coping mechanism, it could be me overthinking it. But it does make me worry a bit. Gentaro and Dice’s rap really play off each other with Gentaro sticking to stories and Dice taking up the baton by carrying on that same imagery but putting his own spin on it.

the self awareness of how scattered they are as a team is interesting though. It doesn’t seem like something you’d speak about in a rap? but i guess since its not really a do or die situation they can afford to be looser on things like this.

Right off the bat, i don’t like how they handled Hifumi and Doppo in relation to Hifumi’s fear of women. Slug made a post once talking about this and I echo many of his sentiments. Hypmic has never been very tactful about tackling this particular issue and while I didn’t have high hopes that the anime would be any better it hurts to see Doppo take away the one thing that allows Hifumi to function within society.

Doppo’s breakdown mirrors a lot of my own mental state when I spiral though its shown a lot quicker than what happens to me oof. that hits close to home. though Jakurai’s advice is. Questionable. Its not the best advice to give to someone but we have no idea what kind of doctor Jakurai is so ill let it slide

I don’t have many thoughts about the rap though again. How they visualize the rap is interesting. the different imagery is quite interesting for each of them and the typography is nice a distinct but im still on the fence about the visuals here

The sound is in the same boat. The sound effects either drown out the rap or are too quet but some parts are nice at least. When they talk about Tokyo’s beating heart, the heartbeat sound is a but distracting especially since its only played once. But the imagery is at least nice

I wonder if for the eds they’re going to take a similar approach to what Enstars did and have a four different endings, one for each division. I love the blend of styles here and it really accentuates that although they’re different they mesh well together.

Ramuda’s silhouette though is hilarious. Love it.

:p and thats it. Uh not bad for a first episode. Established all 12 characters really nicely and their dynamics. I had some problems with it but then again nothing is perfect. I look forward to what they show us next week

i see a lot of 13 yr olds on tumblr these days, so id like to share some advice i wish i had known using tumblr at age 13.

this is also probably not an original idea from me lol, someone has got to have done this before. i would usually put this under a cut but ive decided not to for now

be aware that this site is like NOTORIOUSLY harmful. you may think you’re above it or too mature for it to hurt you, but trust me, you aren’t. since you will probably not be stopped by that warning, maybe take some precautions/keep some stuff in mind to stay safe.

i had tumblr savior for my first experiences with the site. im pretty sure it still works and it’s regularly updated, so take a look into that. it blocks posts with certain keywords from being seen on your radar, and can also push/allow posts with other keywords to always be shown. i would advise getting it or a similar extension to custom block triggering/harmful content.

don’t put other/more popular users in your fandom/community on a pedestal. they’re people behind a blog, just like you are. don’t feel intimidated by the people in your own community, they are just people the same way you are a person. they can mess up at times, and so can you.

making friends is a great thing on this site, but keep an eye on new online friends’ behaviors. it is exciting to meet new people, but you want to be aware of toxic friends. same goes for your mutuals. overall, keep people on this site at an arm’s length until you’ve gotten to know them enough personally to know that they’re genuine people. as you get older you can relax on this, but as a young teen it’s better to be hyperaware than to be blissfully ignorant as you get hurt.

onto more broad things, your theme doesn’t have to be perfect. you dont have to make a custom html/edited html website theme for your blog, you can leave it as tumblr default. if you enjoy organizing that, then by all means go ahead! but don’t feel like it is necessary for your blog, most of the time you will get a new theme set up and check on it on a month and find that it actually looks terrible to you. if you’d rather just have it as a basic/default site, then that is perfectly normal.

your blog’s theme/topic is your choice, and can be uniquely you. some people have many blogs for many things, just a few, or just one with everything. it is up to you how you want to do it! the themes you choose, topics, are up to you. fads and trends are cool but finding what works for you personally is way more fun. your blog is supposed to be fun. you are supposed to enjoy using tumblr. don’t compromise that for a trend. make your blog(s) however you want, however it pleases you. it can feel pressuring to have a perfect blog, but it’s better to just make your appearance the way it would make you happy.

also, tag systems are awesome! but they are not necessary unless you’re tagging trigger warnings. always tag those! but i know a lot of people have personal tagging systems to organize their blog, which is totally cool! but again, personal tag systems are not necessary, and if they feel unnecessary to you, don’t use them. but again, tag triggering content, especially if you are asked to.

archiving/deleting/creating new blogs is a whole other process. some people like to start with a clean slate every time they switch to a new fandom, and let their old user be archived or deleted. this is perfectly respectable (and probably the right thing to do) personally, i just switch my blog over to whatever im feeling that month and people can unfollow if they no longer enjoy my blog (i dont have that big of a following on this blog). it’s really a personal decision, and if you want to restart your blog you will know when to/if you want to.

reblog art, but never “repost” it. aka dont take the image and post it on your own blog, just reblog it from the original poster. its common sense but not everyone knows? idk

if you end up having some or many followers, make sure to check yourself. appreciate your followers, respect them. they are people with blogs. just like you. don’t let a high number inflate your ego way out of proportion, it’s easy to fall into that sense of power.

respect people’s pronouns. even if you for some reason have a disagreement with them, or you don’t understand why/how their identity works, just use the correct pronouns that they ask you to. it costs you zero dollars and zero cents, and is incredibly respectful

as a young teen, don’t get involved/let yourself get buried in tumblr-wide discourse. examples of this include the bi vs pan debate, flag discourse etc. most ppl who i know who were attentive to things similar to that at a young age ended up being affected negatively by it. pay some attention to what pertains to you and also pay attention to what you can identify as right or wrong, but don’t let people’s opinions on your dash influence you in times of discourse. go and look at both sides of those kinds of debates if you’re interested, and form an opinion from there.

speaking of which, sometimes people will just post their takes on literally anything and youll come across it. take everything with a grain of salt unless there is links to proof (if applicable, not always needed). sometimes bad takes just havent had someone to reblog and disprove yet.

speaking of discourse, there is always discourse on this site in every fandom, every community. form your own opinions always, but keep your moral compass in mind. don’t compromise your morals and sense of right and wrong to enjoy certain fan-media. if something seems off, it probably is.

people make mistakes, and if someone did something kind of shitty/had a terrible take/belief (not irredemably shitty, those ppl do not need ur attention) and they genuinely apologize for the shit they did and learn from it, move on. leave some shit in the past, holding grudges isnt good for your mental health and people change. but again, always take things with a grain of salt.

you dont need a high follower count to get traction on your posts. it might help, but you can have a low follower count with high interaction or a high follower count with little to know interaction. the best advice i have is to tag what it is relevant to, whether it’s a fandom, aesthetic, etc and people who regularly check those tags will find it.

if you ever get anon hate for some reason, just delete it from ur inbox n move on. ppl who send anon hate want to see you post it and respond to it. if they said some really really MEAN shit though, it may be best to talk to a friend about it for comfort, or take a break from tumblr for a hot min. most importantly, report it, close your ask box/change it to no anonymous asks.

if at some point you choose to voice your opinion about a highly debated topic at the time, be aware that people who disagree might attack you for it. be aware, and be safe about it.

a lot of people swear by xkit. i have never used it in my life, but from the looks of it, it makes using tumblr so much more bearable. it breaks sometimes with tumblr updates, but apparently it’s worth it. again, look into it, but it’s not necessary to use the site.

do niche shit. start sideblogs without a plan in mind. make aus, make art, make writing, or make nothing at all. reblog the things you love wherever you want them to be reblogged. comment on people’s creations if you love them, they probably would love to hear how much you enjoyed it. appreciate how wonderful the better part of this site is, enjoy the free access to view and appreciate others’ creations and ideas.
