Please it drives me absolutely crazy. If you don’t know a ship name then look for it, if you can’t find it ask, and if you can’t get an answer try to guess and also disclaim In your post that you aren’t sure what the ship name is and would appreciate an answer if there is a preexisting one. Who knows! Maybe you are the first person to coin a ship name. Do NOT tag the duo name unless it’s one of the like 3 ships that are genuine lost causes (I promise you most aren’t)

Encouraging people to stop and think about tagging their ships with duo names on tumblr. Names like Smoothduo, Insaneduo, (or hell, even Guapoduo when it was created) are created to refer to platonic pairs. We have existing ship names for shippers to use such as Felpac or 4bit (or Spiderbit, but it's a bit of a lost cause with them nowadays) for shippers.

When you take over the duo names with your ship you prevent people from being able to avoid ship content without totally getting rid of any platonic content of a pair. And on top of that you prevent people who are looking for said ship content from finding it. I don't care that twitter is a walking disaster of a fandom space, as tumblr users we are fully capable of creating and using unique ship names to provide easier navigation for everyone on the site. Literally just use the ship names.
