It took me a bit to read a coherent meaning behind this lyrics especially, but once I did;

Ow.

Wow.

The Amazing Devil is truly beautiful.

I'm gonna try to explain it as good as I can but, especially with interpretation, I can't bring my thoughts into words properly.

But, let's try.

I read it, that they're both desperate for an improvement of their situation. But they clasp their hands together in prayer so often, one time after another, and in such a frenzied state that, to god, the higher being and the one far away, it might sound like applause.

Especially since, at least evangelical, Christians* tend to flatter god. Like "oh lord all loving and all mighty, heavenly father, maker of the earth, [...]" and since they both seperately pray so often, always so decorated with flattery, that god might drown out the pleas for help and forget them.

It could also mean, especially with the aforementioned flattery aspect, that God sees the pleas decorated in flattery as applause for bringing such similarly troubled souls together. And he actively ignores them, because he has already done his feat in bringing those troubled and yet similar people together to help each other.

*I'm not referring to the Christian god, I just used the example of Christianity because I was raised in such. God here is more of an almighty entity that rules over the universe, no definite definition for him. He could have a physical form, no physical form, be one power, be devided in multiple powers, I don't know.

aaauughhhh GOD this song is perhaps the most incredible vibe i found this year, i think. won't be everybody's cup of tea but it's definitely mine. simultaneously so utterly haunting but a stone cold powerful sound, and so many violently emotive lyrics that it's nearly impossible to pick just one section. shipwrecks, feral creatures, religious references, consensual intimacy as violence, the holofernes line.. just like... damn

i also want to make this super clear:

the comic i'm working on for this is awtdy au related (though you could read it as general), but it utilises only the final lyrics about the god-child and the overall frightening/ominous vibe. it doesn't use any of the other lyrics that are more explicit or about relationships at all.
