at a debrief for the end of semester course recap and it's depressing how many professors just hate their students
#welcome to academia#like why would you fuxking teach if you hate teaching#why would you penalize students for things that are minimal?#''UGH my students ignored my formatting requirements'' okay they're first-years. get over it.#''how do i better punish my students for not doing xyz'' well maybe the problem is you#like truly my outlook got so much better as a grad TA when i realized none of this was personal?#you can trust your students. you can care about them. you can recognize you're not their priority for the semester and it's FINE.#also teaching the writing requirement courses is literally a choice most of these ppl made#why would you sign on to teach a thing if you hate teaching the thing?
