Layla came through a portal while riding on a rampaging bull and it breaks the doors down and then the bull caused damage and chaos before going through a portal.

    ❝What the- Yeeeeek!❞ Toadette shrieks as soon as the bull comes barreling into her home, diving out of the way just before she could be trampled. She does not want to become ground mushroom, thank you very much!

    The female Toad wisely climbs upon her mantel, knocking off as many of her baubles as necessary in order to make room for herself. There was a chance that the bull might come crashing into the fireplace, thus injuring her with its brute strength to an ER degree—but heck, at least she's safe from becoming one with the floor. From her perch, she takes notice of the fact that a person was sitting atop the aggressive creature's back—the person who's responsible for wrecking her furniture.

    CRACK! Oh, great! There goes a door—or two! They were going to pay and replace them!

        Once the bull makes it's leave through the portal, Toadette inspects the damage done to her home. Her couch, her loveseats, her doors, her coffee table! Everything is ruined!

    ❝Hey! You're gonna have to pay for all of this!❞ She fumes before deciding to handle her outrage with dignity and class—by stomping her foot while spouting out little 'Mm!'s, her cheeks puffing out. Throwing a tantrum, real classy.

"Been awhile since we met. How's it goin', Toadette?"

   ❝DK, hi!❞ Toadette greets the big ape with her usual cheery attitude.

   ❝Oh, it's been going great. The usual archavist expedition here, papercraft project there, a music composition project there, practicing my kart racing there, and doing my thing as a spirit in Smash.❞ It's nice of him to drop in for a visit. It feels as though they hadn't done much of anything together since the last party she and Toad had held.

   ❝But enough about me. How are things back at the island? No Kremlings or Tikis or Snowmads trying to steal your banana supply, I hope?❞

   Toadette plops down onto the luscious green of the meadow abundant of flowers of various species and colors.

   ❝I'm making flower crowns. Who wants one?❞

  A gleam of elation lights up in Toadette's eyes. A fire of excitement dances in her expression, inextinguishable, as soon as the word, 'quest', suddenly pops into the conversation.

   ❝You're kidding me? A cooking quest? That sounds so epic! That doesn't sound crazy at all!❞

   Toadette pulls out an orange flyer decorated in Halloween insignia and hands it to the keybearer. ❝Yup! There's going to be a big Halloween ball at the castle! I was actually helping the princess hand these out.❞

   ❝Everyone's invited! Well—everyone except Bowser.❞

   She quickly blinks as she realizes she had forgotten a crucial piece of hospitality. ❝Oh! I'm sorry! I've got so swept up in our conversation, I totally forgot to introduce myself. I'm Toadette.❞

“He sure is!” She answers with a brisk nod to go with the usual perkiness of her tone. The label slipped past her, as the boy meant no ill will and seemed to be familiar of the brothers to a vague degree.

‘Who are they?’ As if it isn’t already obvious that he’s not from here. If that isn’t proof, what else could there be?

“Only the best of the best, duh!” Toadette quips without missing a beat. “Best heroes the Mushroom Kingdom could ask for!”

Oh, how she could wove a tale of how she aided the bros’ with a paper doppelganger of Mario himself with her prowness of papercrafts. Of the adventures she had taken part in alongside them, particularly of traveling through seven different worlds—not to mention having come across a peculiar crown in which transforms her into a sort of lookalike of the Mushroom Kingdom monarch herself.

“Oh, they don’t go scaling the rooftops, unless a certain someone snatches up the princess—or if they’re just doing some wicked parkour for sport.”

♕ - Now how could he go and bump against confidence like that? Meeting his newest friend to be certainly instilled one true truth to him; these said brothers here were as beloved as this kingdom’s crowned royal.  Being able to learn this through another lens outside of his good pal Geno had led to a better semblance of understanding. Where he stood was a kingdom that would endure above anything else.

With or without the help of a keyblade wielder, he’s certain they’d be able to tackle the challenge of Heartless ever getting the wise guy idea of trying to assimilate this world into their timeless curtain of shade.

So what better way to reply then with a broad smile. “No need to tell me twice!  I’ve heard my bits and pieces before with someone who traveled with them before, aimed and angled to take out some big bad by the name of Smithy. Which they did in flying colors o’ course! Just never thought I’d actually get to meet their hometown.” Sora replies. Heck, this place made him want to embark on his own special brand of adventure.

”Must be good if they’re inspiring me to get on the move this much. So! I came to a decision.” A few firm steps upon the ground straightens from the slight slouch he mildly fell into. Nostrils flared, eyes lit with purpose, he glanced over to Toadette with an idea in mind. “I think I’m gonna go on a cooking quest. That is-! If I find out whether there’s some big halloween ball or something at that princess’s castle or not. ..But all the things I discovered here so far, they really have a healthy factor to ‘em, even if it’s sugary sweet. I wanna see tons more of what’s waiting to be bumped into in this world out here.” Despite all the gusto, he couldn’t deny that nagging sense of ‘overzealous’ may be driving him too far.

“Thatttt doesn’t sound too crazy, does it? Even for a big trip?”

I've got a random question for you, Toadette: What are your top three favorite flowers?

   “My top three favorites are sunflowers, roses, and poppies!”

   Is she currently making a crown of said flowers? You'd better believe it!

   Toadette smiles from the news. ❝That's real great to hear. If I were them, I'd steer clear from you after getting my sorry butt whooped! I pity the poor suckers if they try anything funny again.❞

   Juicy Jungle? Now there's an idea for her next expidition!

   ❝You wouldn't mind if I tag along with you next time you go there, would ya? I'd love to make my next expidition there!❞

​❝ i made pumpkin cookies! want to try one? This is a recipe I been practin' all week for the incoming Halloween! ❞

Toadette stares up at the tray of pumpkin cookies with undoubtable interest. Given her love for baked goodies, who is she to deny the boy's offering?

She takes one of the golden brown pumpkin-shaped treats and takes a bite, giving herself a few seconds to soak it all in—the crumbly texture, the earthy sweet flavor of pumpkin, and‐ is that a hint of cinnamon she tastes?

"Mmmm!~" she hums pleasantly with a smile to go with the happiness her taste buds are experiencing. "These are so yum! My compliments to the chef!"

"Aaaaand it's done!"

Toadette, at last, completes the finishing touches on a simple, yet without-a-doubt delicious cake topped in smooth buttercream frosting, little mountains of whipped cream deliberately aligned in a circle with a strawberry atop. She carefully slices and seals each piece into clear little takeout boxes, taking the time to include a disposable fork and to tie a lovely red ribbon around each container.

She is a girl on a mission—a mission to spread joy to her friends through baked goodies.

"I've got some yummy strawberry cake, fresh out the oven! Whoooo's hungry??"

   Toadette squeals with delight as the green plumber presents her with the Sinistea, the teacup-like creature swiveling around her head with a happy trill.

   ❝Oh, Luigi, it's adorable, thank you so much! I've always wanted a Sinistea! They're real hard to find, though.❞

   Toadette gives him a confident smile. ❝You don't need to worry. This little teacup is in good hands, promise!❞

   She directs her attention to her new Pokémon, who is now twirling gracefully as it floats in front of her. ❝Now, what am I going to call you...?❞

   Mischief? Toadette mentally squints as the yellow-capped man drops the question. She is unduly aware of his tendancy to stir up trouble—such where the latter commits a crime. Just tread carefully and ask:

The ever upbeat female toadstool further deteriorates the jack-o-lantern cookie with her teeth, leaving bite marks in place of nearly half it’s spooky—adorable—face as she eagerly chews what is already in her mouth.

Seeing the light in the keybearer’s eyes reminds Toadette of her own first baking success, and fills her with a sense of nostalgia—back to when she was learning under the wing of the local baker Tayce T. Back to handing out her very first culinary creation to some of her fellow townsfolk, as well as the Mario Bros. themselves, and taking in the delight that twists upon their faces.

“Familiar? She’s the reason I even started baking! Back then, I’ve wanted to take up a new skill, and baking sounded like something I would like. I’ve started going to her for baking lessons since then.

Toadette swishes the debris of cookie bites from the inside of her cheek and carefully swallows it all down. With the half-eaten treat held in her hand, she lightly rocks on her heels as she recalls the fond memory. “Of course, I’ve started getting better at it, and it became another thing to do when I’m not traveling or working on any papercrafts.”

“I like to whip up some baked goodies with Luigi every now and then. Oh! I even help Princess Peach with baking too! She’s not the only one who can bake a cake, y'know?”

♕ - Well that answers that! Seeing the way realization swam above the current of sugary sweetness had answered that on the offset. Now here he was riding the return current of a tale of what inspired her to pick up a similar vein as the two of them have. There was just something about this world’s aura of liveliness that felt criminally easily to fall into the sway of. By now he’s already snagging up one of those menacing little cartoon faces and taking a bite of fresh success. Having an extra addition of company only amplified such flavor.

“Glad to see she had her way of fueling up the whole town then. In my case, she was kinda pulled me to her pace entirely, motivated to help me reach the top evening after I told her while I like whipping up a good meal or two.”

Sora’s bites were more concrete and leagues less graceful. A few hefty chomps and a low hum eases from him while that morsel found itself downed entirely. It opened a perfect door to resume. “Cooking is just one of the best ways I see to take care of people. Knowing their favorite, being able to know things that you make keeps them either healthy or full? Something like that just can’t be beat in my eyes.”

Outside of wonders like fairy tales, discipline and resolve with swordplay, cooking held an essence of both of their qualities that rolled into it’s own unique brand. Their cheery conversation combo’d with such delightful smells had certainly attracted a few passerbys.

So why not? That once filled plate dwindled down quite a bit while he allows elder and younger citizens to try a sample and depart with smiling faces. One in particular, a certain Mail-totting paratroopa had certainly appreciated the boost while offering him welcome as a new face.

Further proof of that would be found in in the way Sora’s brow rose at the mention of a certain pair of brothers.

”Luigi.. Oh!” Realization stirs. “He’s that guy they call green stache a ton, right? Part of some combo called the Mario Bros? Just who are they? People been telling me so many stories on ‘em whether I asked or not. Kinda half expected to just see them flipping and jumping across the rooftops.”

♕ - Sweets for long as he could remember in his blaze of a short cooking career managed to define struggle. Similar to many kitchen wizards, they all held a strengthened alignment in one particular art of the craft, in Sora’s case, was drawn to the realm of lunch times and the cozy kick backs of dinner as a strong suit. This meant that under a certain mousy prodigy’s tutelage, one aspect had needed the biggest line of work.

Baking.

The very thing that Toadette was beginning to test causes the keybearer to brace against a tension similar to the battlefront. An unbiased opinion was the important step on this road of progress and each chew and chomp may as well been echoing within his heart. Thankfully his composure kept his grip upon the warmed plate firm as the mischievous looking jack-o-latern cookies remained steadied in some crumbly formation, wholly prepared to offering leap of seconds if meant ‘protecting’ their creator.

At the end of this testing phase it looked like such a thing wasn’t even required! His eyes brightened with a spike of joy seeing the way her face twists up with elation at a job well done! Why if it hadn’t been for this plate, he’s pretty sure he would’ve done a flip out of joy. “Allllright! Looks like it paid off after all! Glad you like their refined version!” Sora chips in .

”But the chef here can’t take all the credit in the kitchen, in truth, he had another chef from around here help him discover the key finishing touches for these.” Just glancing to the memory of that elder woman’s youthful spark in seeing his path made him feel bashful. She really had felt compelled after hearing his reasoning for wanting to cook in the beginning.

“Are you familiar with someone named Tayce T?”
