Summary: It’s Christmas and the whole family comes together to celebrate.

It was that wonderful time of the year where the snow fell, leaving a thick soft blanket on the ground, the windows of homes and shops would be filled with decorations on display, a certain sense of cheer filled the air, and families all came together. Christmas had come around again like it does every year.

Christmas had to be Rose's favorite holiday. There was just something about it that always made her feel so happy. Maybe it was because the snow always looked so pretty around the holidays. Maybe it was because the town looked festive when there were lights strewn about, windows filled to the brim with decorations, and the tree that always went up in the middle of town. Maybe it was because this was the time of year that always brought families together.

No matter what the reason, Rose loved Christmas. All the Buckets did.

Normally, Willy didn't give Christmas a second thought. He used to be alone at Christmas so he didn't bother to celebrate it. But that changed when Rose came into his life. When she told him how much she loved Christmas, he decided to give it a chance and celebrate it.

Turns out that Christmas was a whole lot better when you had a family to celebrate it with. And he loved how happy Rose got around this time of year. He loved coming home one day to find that she had the entire Garden Room covered in decorations, as well as the house. He loved how he found a large Christmas tree already put up and decorated in the living room. He loved hearing Rose break out into Christmas carols.

Christmas quickly became Willy's favorite holiday.

But this Christmas wasn't going to be any ordinary Christmas. This would the first Christmas with the twins. And the Wonkas were going all out with it. Normally, Christmas dinner would be held at the Bucket house, hosted by Mr. and Mrs. Bucket. This year, however, Rose and Willy decided to host dinner for the first time. And their whole family would be coming.

Rose and Mrs. Bucket were cooking together in the kitchen. Every once in a while, Rose would look up and peek out the window. Every time she looked out that window, she saw her children playing together with their father and Uncle Charlie. She smiled at the sight.

"Look at them, mum" Rose said. Mrs. Bucket looked up from the vegetables she was cutting. She followed her daughter's line of sight. "He's such a wonderful father. A wonderful husband. He looks at me, and he looks Fleur and Dulce like we're his whole world. You should hear him telling them bedtime stories"

Mrs. Bucket didn't say anything. Instead, she just smiled, stared, and listened as her daughter went on about Willy and the twins. "Mum, why are you looking at me like that?" Rose asked when she caught her mom staring.

"Nothing," Mrs. Bucket chuckled, shaking her head. "It's just, you've been so happy for the past two years. Before Charlie found that ticket, you've worn many smiles on your face but you've never really been happy" Mrs. Bucket placed her hand on her daughter's cheek. "But now when you smile, it's not because you're trying to be strong for us. It's because you have truly found happiness in your life that we alone couldn't give to you"

"I find myself thinking sometimes where I would be right now if Charlie hadn't found that ticket," Rose thought out loud. "I'd probably still be working for Mrs. Mason, barely just getting by. Or, perhaps maybe I'd be stuck in a marriage that I didn't want"

"Or, maybe you'd still have met Willy somehow"

"You really think so, mum?"

"Of course I do, darling. He's your soulmate. If Charlie hadn't found that ticket and hadn't brought you along on that tour, you still would have met Willy one way or another" Mrs. Bucket seemed so sure about that.

Rose giggled. "Is dad your soulmate?"

Mrs. Bucket smiled, pushing a fallen strand of hair out of Rose's face. "Without any doubt"

A new voice called out, making its presence known. "Hello, Rose! Hello, Helen!" It was Priscilla. She had wandered into the kitchen. "Merry Christmas"

"Merry Christmas, dear" Mrs. Bucket smiled at the girl who overtime, started feeling like her own daughter.

"Merry Christmas, Cilla" Rose said. "Did you say hi to Willy and the twins?"

"I did" Priscilla nodded. "I swear, Fleur and Dulce keep getting cuter every time I see them"

Rose eyed the thick bag that Priscilla was carrying. She did not doubt that there were a bunch of toys and other gifts inside. "Cilla, what did we say about spoiling?"

"This isn't all for the twins" Priscilla defended. "There are things for Charlie and Jenny here. And at least one present for everyone else. That reminds me" She reached into the bag and pulled out a couple of presents. She gave the bigger of the presents to Mrs. Bucket, who in turn looked quite surprised.

"Priscilla, sweetheart, that's very kind of you, but you didn't--"

"I wanted to, Mrs. Bucket"

Mrs. Bucket smiled and accepted the present. She opened it up, revealing a small antique display case. But it wasn't the display case that made her eyes light up. It was what was inside it. "Priscilla, this china is beautiful" There were beautifully designed plates, bowls, and cups.

"I actually made it" Priscilla explained. "I have a knack for pottery"

"I never knew you liked pottery," Rose said. She was surprised that Priscilla never mentioned her talent.

All Priscilla did was shrug. "It's nothing serious, really. More of a hobby" She presented the other present in hand to Rose. "This one for you"

Rose smiled, taking the small present in her hand. She unwrapped it, revealing a velvet red box. Then, she opened up the box to reveal a piece of jewelry. It was a pendant of a terrarium with a tiny rose inside of it. "Oh, it's beautiful"

"I immediately thought of you when I saw that, and not just because of the rose," Priscilla said.

"Wait right here!" Rose said in sudden excitement. She ran off, disappearing behind the curtain that led to hers and Willy's bedroom. When she came back, she was wearing the pendant and had a gift in her hand. "Here," She handed the gift to Priscilla.

Priscilla grinned and she ripped the wrapping paper off. She gasped in delight when she found a sweater, made in her favorite color with her name stitched in cursive gold along the front of it. "Rose, did you make this?"

"Yeah" She bit her lip, waiting to hear Priscilla's thoughts on it. "Do you like it?"

"Like it? I love it!" Priscilla gave Rose a great big hug. "Rose, you're amazing, you know that? You're the best sister anyone could ask for"

"Sister?" Rose asked. Sure, she and Priscilla have been close for a long time, but she's never heard her call her sister before.

"Well, yeah. You're not just my best friend, Rose. You're my sister. You, Willy, and the twins? My family. Charlie and the rest of the Buckets? My family. Danny, Eleanor, Felix, Lucy, Jenny, and Harry? My family. Mrs. Mason and Dr. Wonka? My family. We're all one big family, Rose"

Rose smiled. She thought back to some wise words Charlie once said long ago.

You don't have to be related to someone for them to be your family. People who care about each other can be considered a family, whether you're related or not.

For a boy of thirteen, Charlie was quite wise for his age.

"Darling, why don't you go out there and say hi to your friends?" Mrs. Bucket suggested. "I've got it in here"

Rose kissed her mother before walking out of the house with Priscilla. All of their friends were crowding together with Willy and Charlie. The twins were now being held by Lucy and Harry respectively. Of course, Willy was the first one to see his wife. "Hello, starshine!" He beamed at her.

"Cocoa bean" She greeted back, wrapping her arms around him in a secure hug. Rose's eyes wandered to Fleur, who was being held by Lucy. But it wasn't her daughter's infectious grin that caught her eye. It was the sparkling diamond that was wrapped around Lucy's ring finger. "Lu?"

Lucy looked at Rose. "Yes?"

"On your finger, is that what I think it is?"

Eleanor went wide-eyed. "Wait, you and Harry are engaged!?"

Lucy shrugged, smirked, and made an attempt at a joke. "Who said it was Harry I was engaged to?"

"Sis, you're not fooling anyone" Jenny laughed. "We all know you two are googly-eyed in love with each other"

"Let me see," Priscilla said. She took Lucy's hand and inspected the diamond on her finger. Priscilla let out an impressed whistle. "That's quite the stone you gave her, Harry"

Lucy grinned and then eyed her fiance. "Even if I told him a simple plain ring would do"

"And I'm only getting truly engaged once" Harry quipped. He and Rose shared a knowing look. The two of them were never really engaged. It was more of an...agreement... of sorts. Luckily, it was one that was never carried out. Harry looked back at Lucy. "I wanted to make it special for both of us"

Lucy very well knew of what had transpired between Rose and Harry. They were both very honest with her about that. But, she was just glad to see that they had made amends and that they were now friends.

"Where are those little angels?" A happy sing-song voice called out. "Nana's here! And she wants to see all her angels!"

Mrs. Mason came running with Dr. Wonka not far behind her. The two of them were married now. The ceremony had been small and private, taking place at a courthouse with only Rose, Willy, and Charlie in attendance.

"There they are!" Mrs. Mason cooed once she saw her grandchildren. She squished their cheeks and kissed their foreheads, causing the babies to smile and giggle. Once she greeted the twins, she greeted the rest of her angels the same way, starting with Priscilla.

"Uh, Mrs. Mason" Priscilla mumbled through her squished cheeks. "What are you doing?"

"I did say I wanted to see all my angels, now didn't I?"

Mrs. Mason got through with greeting Priscilla, Eleanor, Lucy, Danny, Felix, and Harry all the same way. With squished cheeks and wet kisses on the forehead. She still saw all of them as her children, even if they weren't related to her the way Rose, Charlie, and Willy were.

"And where's my youngest son?" Mrs. Mason turned on her heel until she spotted Charlie. "Charlie, my dear boy! Come here!" She hugged Charlie as tight as she could. "I swear you're getting bigger every day I see you"

"And you keep getting kinder" Charlie said to her.

Mrs. Mason grinned wildly. "How does a boy get so sweet and polite?" She let go of Charlie, and then there was no saving Jenny from the inevitable hug. "And here's my sweet girl! Oh, Jenny, you just keep getting prettier"

Jenny blushed and giggled. "Thank you, Mrs. Mason"

"Charlie, you've got quite the girlfriend here. Don't ever let her go" Mrs. Mason advised, winking at the young boy.

Both Charlie and Jenny blushed deeply and glanced at each other. "We're not boyfriend and girlfriend" Charlie defended.

"Yeah. We're just friends" Jenny added. "Best friends"

"And that means in exactly ten years time, you two will be married" Mrs. Mason joked but at the same time, there was a hint of seriousness in her voice. Charlie and Jenny both muttered something about Mrs. Mason being embarrassing before the two of them ran off.

Mrs. Mason chuckled, shaking her head. She caught Rose in her sight and smiled at her. "And last but certainly not least, my beautiful daughter" She grasped Rose's face with a gentle grip and kissed her on both of the cheeks. "And my wonderful son" Mrs. Mason hugged Willy and pressed a kiss to his cheek.

"Hi mom" Willy greeted her, giving her a kiss and a hug back. He then let go of Mrs. Mason and walked over to his father. "Hi dad" He greeted before hugging him.

"Hello son," Dr. Wonka said, a grin coming over him. After hugging his son, he stepped closer to Rose and hugged her as well. "Hello daughter"

Rose smiled at that. It always warmed her heart when she heard Dr. Wonka calling her daughter. "Hi, dad. Merry Christmas"

"Merry Christmas"

Mrs. Bucket stepped out onto the porch of the house. "Rose and Willy, dears" Mrs. Bucket called out for her daughter and her son-in-law. "I need your help with something!" She flashed an almost mischievous smile at them, before disappearing inside the house again.

"Hmm," Willy hummed curiously. "I wonder what that's about" He wasn't blind to see the way she had smiled at both of them.

"I suppose we should go find out" Rose said. She and Willy joined hands and made their way to the house.

"That's weird," Willy said as soon as he and Rose entered the house. They found it empty except for all the furniture and the finished food that was sitting on the counters in the kitchen. "Moms not here"

"Mum!" Rose called out. There was no reply. "Come on, mum. Where are you? Are you playing some kind of joke?"

Willy looked around the room as his wife continued to call for Mrs. Bucket's attention. It wasn't until he looked up that he noticed something hanging off of the ceiling. It was a green plant with white berries and a red bow wrapped around it.

"Cocoa bean," Rose finally noticed her husband staring upwards. "What are you looking at?"

"Have you gotten any new flowers or plants recently?"

"No" Rose finally looked up to see what Willy was looking at. She recognized what it was right away. A smirk danced across her lips. "Oh, I see what you're looking at"

"What is it?" Rose didn't answer him right away. Instead, she started giggling. Willy's eyebrows furrowed and he looked back at his wife. "What's so funny, starshine?"

"You've never seen mistletoe before?"

"No" He looked back up at it. "I wonder why it's there"

"I'm thinking mum probably put it there"

"Now, why would she do that?" Wow, he really didn't know. "I'm sorry but it's just a poor choice for decoration. It doesn't do anything to tie this room together at all"

"Cocoa bean, it's not for decoration"

"No? Then what's it for?"

Rose grabbed Willy's face and tilted his head down so that he was looking at her rather than the plant on the ceiling. "Do you really not know the tradition for people who stand together under the mistletoe?" Her voice had softened into an almost sultry purr. Her thumb was stroking his soft and plump bottom lip, and she was giving him that look with hooded and glossy eyes that made him weak in the knees.

Willy blushed deeply as he looked her right in the eye. "No"

"When two people find themselves standing under the mistletoe, they're supposed to kiss, otherwise they'll have bad luck"

"Oh. So is it like walking under a ladder, or opening an umbrella indoors, or breaking a mirror--" Willy was cut off when Rose's lips were pressed against his in a passionate kiss. It didn't take long for him to ease into the kiss, closing his eyes and wrapping his arms around her waist. What they didn't see was Mrs. Bucket standing in the doorway of the nursery, watching both of them with a smile on her face.

She knew that her daughter and son-in-law had yet to kiss under the mistletoe. So, she set up the mistletoe and lured them inside the house.

Rose and Willy pulled away from the kiss, both of them with a dazed look in their eyes. No matter how many times they kissed, sometimes certain kisses still felt like their first one. "Wow," Willy muttered, breathless from the kiss.

Rose giggled. "Yeah, wow"

Willy smiled at the sound of her heavenly giggle. "I like that tradition. Can it only be done at Christmas?"

"I don't think so"

"Good, because I'm going to set up mistletoe all throughout the factory so you'll have to kiss me wherever we are, or else we'll both end up with bad luck"

It finally came time for Christmas dinner. Everyone was seated at the long table that was set up just outside the house and underneath a fluffy, pink cotton candy tree. Rose helped her mum and dad bring out all the food.

"Mum, all of this looks wonderful" Rose mentioned.

"Well, I did have some help" Mrs. Bucket smiled, winking at Rose. Once all the food was set out and she was back in her seat, Mrs. Bucket announced. "Everyone dig in and enjoy"

Everyone served amongst themselves and quickly got into feasting. Rose and Willy fed their children when they weren't feeding themselves. Everyone chatted, joked, laughed, and told stories with each other. It truly was like they were all one extended family.

'That's because we are a family'  Willy thought to himself.

Family. He really was beginning to like that word a lot.

"Mr. Bucket and I would like to say something," Mrs. Bucket said as she stood up. Mr. Bucket stood up as well and joined hands with his wife. "If we may?"

Rose nodded and gave an encouraging smile. "Please!"

Mrs. Bucket nodded and then looked at her husband, urging him to start. "We've celebrated many Christmases in the past. For us, it was never about the gifts or even the food we ate. It was about spending this special time of the year as a family"

"But no Christmas has never felt more like Christmas than it does now" Mrs. Bucket continued. "And it all has to do with our special family. Look at us. We went from being a family of six to a family of eighteen"

"And we couldn't have asked for a better one" Mr. Bucket finished off. He and Mrs. Bucket sat back down, indicating that they had said all they wanted to say.

Dinner continued. Rose noticed that Willy had fallen awfully quiet beside her. He had been talkative all night, especially to his children. When she looked at him, she noticed that he was in a dazed look, like when he used to get his flashbacks. But there was something different about this dazed look. It was the smile on his face.

"Cocoa bean?" Rose piped, placing her hand over his. "Is everything okay?"

Willy looked over to her, blinking as he broke out of his daze. "Oh, starshine. I feel absolutely wonderful"

"Yeah?" Rose smiled.

"I was just thinking about something"

"And what would that be?"

"Before I met you, I never realized just how lonely I was" Willy was looking right at Rose when he spoke, but his words weren't just directed to her.  "Looking back, maybe I was a little miserable because I was lonely, but my success made me blind to that. Now, I can't imagine a life without you, starshine" He looked to everyone else, realizing their stares were on him. "Or any of you, really. If there's a family out there better than this one, then I don't want to meet them because we're already a perfect family. You're all my family"

Everyone smiled in agreement and nodded to Willy's words.

"I say we make a toast" Priscilla announced. She reached over and grabbed her cup. She held it up high in the air. "To our great, big, and happy family"

Everyone else grabbed their drinks and joined in the toast. "To family!"

In the end, Charlie Bucket won a chocolate factory.

But Willy Wonka got something even better.

A family.  

And one thing was absolutely certain.

Life had never been sweeter.

day 13: adopting a pet

“Oh, Jayjay, can we go in the pet store?” Cady pleads. “Just to look? Pleeeeeease?”

“Sure, Peanut,” Janis chuckles, grinning as Cady squeals eagerly and hauls her through the doors. Cady makes a beeline for the kittens and puppies. “Aww, they have little holiday sweaters!”

Cady is shaking with the effort of containing her excitement. “I want one.”

“You can’t have pets in your dorm,” Janis reminds her. Cady deflates.

“One day?”

“One day,” Janis confirms. “Whatever you want.”

“Can we still play with one?”

“Of course,” Janis says, kissing her forehead. “Go pick one.” Cady looks around desperately, trying to decide which puppy looks the most lonely. “Do I need to pick?”

“No, I can do it,” Cady responds, batting her hands away as Janis tries to point to one. “Uhm… that one.”

She points to the single scruffiest dog in the entire establishment, a tiny little thing with his tongue permanently poking out the side of his mouth. Janis reads the sign on his little enclosure and sees his name is Derpy. Rather fitting.

An employee ushers them into a little cubicle so Derpy can’t escape, and hands the little dog to Cady. Cady immediately starts cooing over him and giggling as he wiggles to try to kiss her face. Janis smiles seeing her so happy. They’ve both had a hard couple years, trying to do long distance.

“This is the most ridiculous looking dog I’ve ever seen,” Janis mutters, stroking gently through fur that pokes out in every direction at once.

“He’s so cute though,” Cady says happily. “His little tongue.”

Janis takes a few pictures of her girlfriend poking her tongue out the same way. She does have to admit, Cady and Derpy make a cute pair. Maybe Cady and Janis will have a dog together someday. “You’re cuter.”

“Noooo,” Cady says, scratching behind the dog’s ears. The pup wiggles happily when she hits a particularly good spot. “Oh, yes, that feels good!”

Janis sits on the bench next to her, and Derpy quickly scrambles over to her for more affection. “Hello.”

“I think he likes you,” Cady giggles, helping Janis pull him away from her face when he eagerly leaps up to give her kisses. “Oh, yes, we like you too. Just not that much, tongues stay out of other mouths.”

“Speak for yourself,” Janis teases, leaning in to kiss her girlfriend. She keeps it chaste since they’re in public, but the message is clear.

“Janis Sarkisian,” Cady gasps when they break apart. “How dare. How dare you, you absolute heathen. I am a lady of high society, how dare you even insinuate I would do such a thing.”

“You weren’t complaining last night.”

“Hey now,” Cady says accusingly. “Santa’s watching, behave.”

“Fine,” Janis pouts. Cady giggles and kisses her cheek.

An employee comes by a while later to sadly inform them that their allotted time with Derpy is up, so Cady gives him some solid final scritches and hands him back. She and Janis both use some hand sanitizer and continue browsing.

“Aww, look at these,” Cady says, lugging Janis over to the fish section.

“Hermit crabs?”

“Yeah! They’re so cute,” Cady says eagerly.

“We could get one,” Janis realizes. “They’re pretty cheap, and easy to hide. We could do, like, split custody of it and then raise it together once you move in with me and Damian.”

Cady looks at her with wide eyes and nods eagerly. “Yes! And we can decorate little shells for him and make his tank all nice!”

“Okay,” Janis chuckles. “Pick one out, baby.”

“He needs a name,” Cady says on the way home, peering curiously at the little creature in his small box. His tank is in the back to be decorated when they get home.

“Herman?” Janis suggests.

Cady ponders this, staring deeply into their crab’s beady little eyes. “He looks like a Carter.”

“Okay,” Janis laughs. “Carter Herman Sarkisian-Heron.”

“Yes,” Cady nods. “A good name for a good boy.”

“Alright, come on, you two,” Janis chuckles once they pull into Cady’s driveway. “Let’s go put together Carter’s house.”

“How do we decorate his shells?” Cady asks as she puts some plastic plants around Carter’s tank for decoration.

“I’m not sure,” Janis hums, pouring some water into his little pool area. “I don’t think it really matters. We could do a few and then let him pick which one he wants to live in.”

“Oh, yeah!” Cady says eagerly. Janis kisses her temple with a smile and heads to Cady’s bedroom to get her secret stash of painting supplies.

Cady takes out the small pack of shells and picks out the best ones to decorate first. Janis returns and hands over some bottles of paint and her tiniest brushes.

“What are you gonna put on yours?” Cady asks as she squeezes out a bit of yellow paint onto a paper plate.

“I dunno,” Janis hums. “Maybe a rainbow?”

“Gay crab.” Cady nods seriously. Janis bursts out laughing and kisses her cheek.

“Okay then, gay crab it is. What are you gonna do?”

“A lion,” Cady says. “It’s all I know how to paint. And it might help him scare off any predators!”

“What predators is our hermit crab gonna face?” Janis chuckles. Cady goes quiet for a moment.

“Pancakes?”

“Fair enough,” Janis chuckles. Her cat is a serious potential threat. “I’ll protect him, but he should have his own defenses too.”

Cady beams and dips her brush in. Janis smiles back and dips into some red. They chat about how school is going and other little things, and try to guess what the other has gotten them for Christmas.

“We should do one together,” Cady says when she finishes her lion face shell. Janis puts down her rainbow patterned one and nods.

“Okay. What should we do?” Janis asks. Cady settles on her lap, so Janis hooks her chin over her shoulder and holds her around the waist. Cady hums thoughtfully and taps her chin.

“Oh! You could draw, like, a paint by numbers thingy! And then we can fill it in together!”

“How is paint by numbers a both of us thing?”

“Be-because… you like to paint. And I like numbers.” Cady says sheepishly. “I thought it was cute, we don’t-“

“No, baby! That’s perfect,” Janis interrupts. “I love that.”

“I love you,” Cady retaliates, turning around to face her and leaning in for a kiss. Janis hums happily and holds her closer, slipping her hands into the back pockets of Cady’s jeans while Cady tangles a hand in Janis’ hair and cups her jaw with the other.

“As much as I want to continue this,” Janis says in between little pecks. “We should finish his shells first.”

“Fine,” Cady sighs. “Kids are real cockblockers.”

“He’s a crab,” Janis laughs.

“He’s still our son! We adopted him!”

Janis looks at the little crab in his box, as he wanders around to investigate his area. He is quite cute. And Cady’s right, they did technically adopt him. “Okay. I’m proud to have this crab as my son.”

“Thank you,” Cady hums, handing Janis one of the shells and a marker to make a pattern. “Have at it, Picasso.”

It’s hard working on such a small and rough canvas, but Janis does eventually manage to sketch out an angular heart on one side and a ‘C+J’ on the other. Cady smiles when she sees it and grabs her brush again.

“Who gets him first?” Cady asks as she carefully brushes some purple into the J.

“I think you should,” Janis says. “Not that I don’t want him. But you don’t have as far to travel, I think it’d be easier on him to stay close for a while.”

“Okay,” Cady agrees. “I’ll send you pictures every day.”

“Okay,” Janis chuckles, kissing Cady’s temple as she starts working on the heart. “I think he’ll like this one.”

“Me too,” Cady says with a precious smile.

“Okay Carter, pick your new shell!” Cady says quietly, scooping the little crab out of his box and resting him on the coffee table. The shells have all dried and been treated with a sealant so Carter can go swimming as much as he wants without washing his beautiful decorations off.

Carter approaches the lineup and considers each one carefully, tapping them with his claws and wiggling his little antennae at them. Eventually, he pops out of his old small one and into the one they had done together.

“Aww, yay!” Cady cheers. “He picked both of us, Jayjay.”

Janis smiles as Cady puts Carter into his new tank and adds the other shells for more decorations. “Cute. Our son.”

“Our son,” Cady nods, bending down to watch Carter check out his new home. Janis bends on the other side, and they smile at each other through the plastic. “I love you.”

“I love you too.”

“I was talking to him.”

he’s a rly cute and soft boy who absolutely loves that class

and watching him draw or paint or just mess around was pure joy !!he would space out a lot with the end of his pencil in his mouth,, just thinking about what to do next

and sometimes he would just smile sO bright because of how funny a line or feature looked

a lot of the time he was more quiet and to himself, just sketching away and humming and occasionally looking up

but u never really paid attention to what he was looking at 👀👀

one day when u were going to get ur snuffs

he was smiling really wide to the point where u could see his lil snaggle tooth 🤧🤧 (REST IN PEACE)

he was drawing in a very awkward position so he could cover the paper with his arm

but there was hearts and stars and flowers all over the background

he found the courage to sit beside you and watch you paint the scenery instead of letting you watch him

and when u weren’t looking, he just smiled so softly and did a cute laugh if u messed up

and then said encouraging words to make you feel better about the wrong stroke or bad blend or failed technique

“messing up just makes your art ten times more beautiful!!!”

after a week of just helping you and keeping you company, he stopped you after class on a Friday probs and gave you a SOFT and nervous smile and it conCERNED u a lot

and he was stuttering quite a bit probably :(

but he ended up asking you about his art

hMmm “could you come by my house sometime so I could get help with a drawing????”

oFC u said yes,, if u said no I would’ve hunted u down ᕦ(ò_óˇ)ᕤ

and he wrote his number on ur hand rly fast with his special tracing pen

and zoomed out of the room bc he was so nervous

but in like 5 minutes he’s back with a presentable outfit and those glasses that make him look so precious :”)

but he just sets his sketchbook at a table and pulls out a chair for u 🤧🤧

his sketchbook was one of those rly aesthetic ones !!!

the front was a little old and torn at the corners and it had lots of dirty on the edges and papers shoved in between pages

it looked so tempting to open :”)) but u had to rESPECT

he comes running in with some water and a tiny plate of cookies or whatever u prefer

“you mentioned it while you were sketching your background!!” 

while ur drinking ur water,,,

“uhh renjun??? why did I come over??”

“oH, I needed help with drawing someone!! you both have similar features and I needed an example!!”

as he was drawing and looking back n forth from u and the paper, you couldn’t help but notice how happy n determined he looked

he started making small talk with you after like five minutes so you wouldn’t be bored and you both learned a lot

and soon, he was done with the sketch and had asked for you to come back another time

it happened to be the following saturday

and throughout the whole week in art, both of you talked the whole time about so much

he was a good friend of yours at that point, and he was so much more interesting

he paid attention to all of your quirks and habits and literally fell in love with them all

if you liked to chew on ur nails or smth

he would laugh a lil and grab your hands and give u a warm smile

or if you liked to ramble a lot and stopped in between to say “sORRY I’ll stop :>”

he would frown n ask you to keep talking so he could work better

he paid attention to it all and remembered every little thing you said

you like flowers?? he’s already painting 20940 different kinds !!

it was cozy and bright in there with lots of supplies on shelves and art hung up all over

and it was aLL his art !!

Cutie Reviews: Gacha Gacha crate June 19

Hello! Welcome to the next review x3 I meant to do this a couple of days ago, but I haven’t been feeling well. But I’m feeling better than I was and I really wanted to get this written before I started something else related to the box... more about that on the inside.

In the booklet this month we get a page on the early history of Gachapon/Capsule machines. There is also a page about a contest the box is doing, where you take a creative picture using your most favorite gacha from the box so far. You can win a full set of said gachapon if you win!

As soon as I saw this I had a really cute idea, so I’ve been wanting to get this done before I put that together. I’m not sure when the contest ends, for all I know it might already be done- but I just got this box like a week ago. But I still plan to at least make the picture because I thought it would be a lot of fun :3 it has to be posted elsewhere, but I’ll be posting it here too.

But for now let’s focus on this box and it’s contents!

Inflatable Neck Pillow

Our first item is this creative travel companion, based on various food items. Like a croissant, shrimp, an eggplant/cucumber (not actually sure...), a banana, sausage, and a decorative chocolate.

I got the banana, as you can see.  I think they all would have been cute, but if I had to choose I would have waned the chocolate.

I’m just glad I didn’t get the shrimp <3< I would have been too weirded out to use it... maybe.

For travel or just around the house it’s nice to have a neck pillow once in a while. It’s very comfortable -surprisingly- but at the same time, it’s a bit strange. Like, it feels nice but at the same time the material feels odd and sticky. I don’t think that would bother everyone though.

It could also be used as an inflatable Frisbee if you don’t care for the neck pillow idea. Or maybe a fun toy for the pool or bath because it should float on the water without much applied pressure.

Doggo Desk Buddies

I was very excited to finally get one of these; these types of practical Gacha where the character or animal works as various useful desk ornaments. I love them!

This specific series features 6 ceramic puppies, each one a different species with their own function, including: a paper clip holder, a pen stand, a stamp holder, masking tape hanger, a post-it note stand, and a message holder. 

As you can see I got the adorable post-it stand pug. It also comes with a kawaii little set of pink sticky notes. The puppy is put into bubble wrap to ensure it won’t get broken, which is a detail I really like. The post-its were in their own, separate tiny zip-lock bag.

First of all, I really like the care put into this set. I’m guessing that if the capsule was jarred too much the puppy could risk breaking or damaging the sticky notes, or opposite. It’s really nice to see this type of consideration.

Meanwhile, as I already gushed, I love the concept as a whole when it comes to these. I would have been happy with any of them. I do find the tiny size of the sticky notes to be a bit of a let-down, but they can still be used for a lot of things, like bookmarking pages or “last-second emergency tape”. I also noticed that mostly the entire sheet seems to be sticky, but they still easily peel off the pad. Plus you could swap them out with other, smallish sets of sticky notes too.

Fish Game

I grew up with this game, and I’m sure a lot of you will recognize it too :3 in fact I still have mine. But if you’ve never seen it before, this toy is based on the electronic game that includes multiple people trying to catch the moving fish using their fishing rods.

It’s available in Purple, Blue, Pink, Green, and Yellow. It requires very minor assembly, you basically just connect the piece included with it that works as the “brain“ of the game. You then put the fishies into the slots and you can set the rod on the stand when not in use.

I fell in love with the adorable miniaturization of a beloved childhood game- I’ve really liked these game gachapon we keep getting as of late, I hope we get more~

I’m also delighted I got pink! It’s my favorite shade and everything!

But in saying that... my game is either wonky, or everyone’s is like this. For some reason I can’t get it to work, it barely wants to move/spin around like it’s supposed to. I also noticed one of my fish has 2 magnets in it’s mouth while the others only have 1, but that has nothing to do with it. It’s pretty disappointing.

  Pikachu/Eevee Trainer

I think these might be “balancer“ gacha, due to the various poses they’re in. In a set of 6, we can get 1 of 2 Pikachu or 3 Eevee, all dressed up and ready to join up with their Trainer for an adventure! This series is by Takara Tomy Arts.

This one looks exactly like my Eevee from the game, so I was very happy :3 but mine is a girl, while this one is oddly a boy. I mean that isn’t to say guys can’t like flowers too, it’s kind of cute how the boyish looking Eevee in the set is a girl. Both Pikachu are boys.

Now, by this point I was beginning to have difficulties trying to get pictures. As soon as I would snap one, this happened:

Fluffy really wanted to play with them, he kept trying to carry off the puppy!

I think these are very cute, especially if you played one of the Let’s Go games x3 Getting the flower Eevee was perfect for me, since I usually used them and the bow accessories on mine. 

I wonder if the people who make this box saw the screenshot I uploaded of my Eevee months back...

Game-Box Mini Genesis

We’ve already established that I play video games, so this gacha especially caught my attention! This tiny, adorable glittery device (that Fluffy also went after) has 26 games in it! Ranging but not limited to shooting, driving, block destruction, puzzles, and image adjusting games.

Besides red, it also came in purple, black, white, green, and orange.

Rating: ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ 

Definitely one of my favorites from this box, I love it~ It works perfectly, it has sound, of course the images are all made from pixels due to the retro nature of the device, but it’s really fun. The only problem is that as you can see from the instruction page included with it, and the game itself... it can be really hard to understand and use if you don’t understand the writing system.

But it’s not hard to turn it on and start playing, even if you don’t know what’s going on like me :P

Retro Gachapon Machine

This is kind of a spoiler but not really, because I will be covering this in a separate post! Only because like our previous Gachapon machine capsule, it has to be assembled and I thought I could get a handful of pictures from it. It’ll also serve as a comparison piece between the two gachapon machines I have.

♥ Cutie Ranking ♥

Total Rank: 8 out of 10 cuties. As usual there isn’t really a theme behind these so I can’t really point it for that. I liked every capsule we got, and almost every single one features a form of practicality or use. I was especially surprised by the size of the inflatable neck pillow, it’s the biggest thing we got yet!

I’m pretty much only removing points from this one because of the possibly broken fish game. I don’t know what it’s problem is. I also think I might have liked last months a bit better than this one...

♥ Cutie Scale ♥

1. Dog Desk Buddies - Being a ceramic figure, it’s obvious the detail would be there. What I like about these is that if I really didn’t want to use it for a desk item, it would be a cute figurine to put on a shelf.

2. Pokemon  - Mine would have been spot-on if it was a girl eevee, but I love him regardless of gender. The detail is very well done and they all have flawless paint jobs.

3. Gachapon Machine - What’s cuter than adorable Gacha than a put-together model of the machine? It’s perfect for re-ment. 

4. Mini Genesis - I love sparkly translucent things~

5. Fish Game - Even though it behaves weird, I think the fishies are still really cute looking. They have different expressions, which is a cute little detail.

6. Neck Pillow - It’s cute in a really silly kind of way. Realistic-looking food goods always look kind of silly though, don’t they?

Okay, so that will be doing it for this review :3 I plan to be focusing on my “possible entry” for the boxes contest, then I’ll be doing my review/put together of the retro gachapon machine. Then we can finally begin the January boxes!

Review: Kawaii Box Dec 2016

Message of the Month: Have a Kawaii 2017! >o<

Before I begin I just want to announce that with this box we’re pretty much up to date! I have all but 1 January box, and in case the date confuses you, Kawaii Box comes the month after its issued, so the January box will come in Feb. I don’t know if its the same for everyone though.

Okay, we got 11 items this month and plenty of winners! Let’s get the show on the road!

I just want to apologize now, I didn’t realize a few of these were as blurry as they came out. But I can earnestly say everything is included here this time >x<

Two, kawaii irresistible items perfect to kick off the new year! With the Sweet Kokeshi Pen and 2017 Panda Calendar by your side, everyone will want to know where you got them!

The panda calendar features an entire years worth of pages, including a few before the new year begins, and the pages are double-sided so that you can keep notes. With how small it is, this adorable fine-tipped pen really comes in handy:

In case you get too distracted by all the cuteness, I wrote “hello” on the paper.

I love fine tipped pens <3 so this one quickly became an every day essential for me. Speaking of, I was actually thinking of making a top 10 list of Pens I’ve gotten from these various crates/boxes (as well as other things) would you guys want to see that? Be sure to comment or send a message/ask.

Here we have some fun collectables, a Sumikko Gurashi Keychain that is very squishy-soft and cuddly. I can’t say i got my favorite (my favorites being Polar Bear and the Cat) but it is plenty cute. I will admit that. But its not as cute as the Dessert sticker Sheet next to it~

While I’m not sure you can make them out, there are Name Brands on this sheet! Such as Sprite and Pepsi <3 They’re going right into my Japanese sticker collection~

(just between us though, I’m more of a coke cola girl ;3)

In terms of DIY, Kawaii Box decided to surprise us by introducing a Petit Nail Art Set in this months box. It’s so kawaii <3 and also includes a double-sided two-color bow-shaped emery board, and a pair of plastic tweezers. I wanted to get a better, up-close picture but my camera couldn’t capture the true, pretty, shiny, tiny detail.

Here in the pic you can see my (real) nail adorned with a few gem pieces included in the container. As soon as I saw how cute this kit was- I wanted to go ALL OUT!

But... I was actually planning to remove this nail polish (and did prior to writing this) so I didn’t want to waste anything.

While you’re blinging out your nails, why not do the same for some decor with the Cute Deco Tape Set?? Included are 5, super-shiny tapes perfect for adding a bit of cute shine to items. I put each one on the included packaging to kind of show you how easy it is, and how pretty it looks <3

I’m a sucker for shiny things, and deco-anything. The fact you get FIVE in one pack just makes it all the more better~

Also, I noticed some of them are glittering silvery on the “under” side, or they match their top designs with a silver shiny style.

Perfect items for the day, and night. The Good Morning Mini Box is perfect for those of us who need little items nearby, such as medications, contacts, etc. You can also remove the tray inside for a bit more storage capacity. Also included is this MEGA BRIGHT Popcorn Super LED Mini Light.

I was amazed by how bright this thing is. I honestly didn’t expect it to work so well.

Now onto everyone’s favorite, the Sweet Treats! Wanna know what makes them so special? :3

I guess someone was in a cookie mood when they thought up this box, but luckily for them I love cookies ;3 We have two Pastel Cookie Erasers that resemble oreo with a cute face on one side, a Kawaii Macaron Keychain that pulls open for storage and includes a cute candy bear charm, and lastly, Meiji Yan Yan Biscuit Sticks with Sprinkles.

I get Biscuit Sticks fairly often but they don’t sell ones with sprinkles near me. My most favorites are the ones with strawberry cream, but they do have an artificial taste to them. What I thought was really cute about this one was that it has little writings and panda on them. The white sprinkles are dissolving sugar candy, while the little colored beads were kind of fruit candy tasting.

It makes a cute snack, and not only that, but you can keep the cup and draw on it after you rip off the label ;3

Content - I really liked the last box, but I’m not sure if I liked this one more, or less. The items felt more expensive in comparison, and I actually can’t think of any complaints to make other than 1 in general. In my very first Kawaii Box, they gave us adorable 3D/puffy stickers with GRAPE scenting, but since then all we get are average flat (sometimes shiny) stickers. I do love these, don’t get me wrong, but I kind of wish they had some more unique types of stickers to include. 4.5 out of 5.

Practicality - 5 out of 5.  

Total Rank: 14.5 out of 15 Cuties.

I really didn’t have much to say on this Box this time honestly. I liked it, but I’m not sure I could say it was outstanding or perfect, but the complaint I had was so tiny. If they had combined the best items from this box with the previous ones, it would have been PERFECT.

1. Sweet Kokeshi Pen - It’s simple elegant, cute design won me over at the end of the day.

2. Panda Calendar - This thing sits near me every day, it’s so cute I love to flip through it and look at all the child-like drawings covering it. It’s also super-useful.

3. Macaron Keychain - The little bear charm add to this pink cuties sweetness. It helps that I also really like macaron too!

4. Pastel Cookie Erasers - These remind me of my childhood, when I collected erasers. They’re so little and cute <3

5. Food Stickers - luckily for these stickers, I love food stickers that look adorable.

6. Petit Nail Art Set - Again we breech “pretty“ territory. The tininess and the bow emery board are precious though~

7. LED Mini Light - It’s basically a little pink tube that lights up. . . 

8. Sumikko Gurashi - I admit I’m biased this time. Had it been one of my favorite characters it would have been higher on the list.

9. Good Morning Mini Box - It’s cute but... kinda meh.

10. Cute Deco Tape - While these were in my top 3 in terms of favorites, in terms of cuteness- I felt these were more “pretty“ than cute.

11. Meiji Yan Yan Biscuit Sticks - its cute, but I felt like the packaging was cuter than the actual content.
