Jack and Rozy has many parallels to Calypso & Davy Jones.

I think we can say that Jack is quite similar to Tia Dalma/Calypso in terms of nature: he's fickle, playful yet his emotions are vast, deep and consuming (see the almost cold blooded murder of his -speculated- former lover and soulmate Barbossa). It's so easy to drown in him because he's a lot in both meanings. This is why many misunderstand, misinterpret his actions and gestures, thinking something into grand gestures and failing to pay attention to the small ones carrying more meaning.

Rozy is a monster in human skin. She has her tender moments but that doesn't absolve her sins at all. She doesn't have a pet sea monster to tear ships apart: she has a battle ram and a row of iron spikes to tear into the hull. In some aspects she's worse than Jones as she doesn't give the other party a choice between joining her or dying.

The crucial difference: Rozy fully understands what/who Jack is and fell in love with all of him.

If Jack was Calypso and Rozy was Jones; if he didn't show up when they agreed on she would be worried whenever he got into trouble or understanding that the God of the Seas have responsibilities and doesn't operate in the human timeline, instead of rage leading to betrayal.

Davy Jones romanticized the seas' 'best' traits while overlooking the worse ones, he fell in love with an idolized image HE created about her instead recognizing Calypso as she is. Rozy never would've made that mistake.

So there's a man representing the sea in every meaning and a monster who loves, understands him unconditionally & fully.

James, the Idol of the Navy who actually has the skills to hold such position. A great duelist, a formidable opponent whom she would've hated to kill.

Jack, a glittering gem among everyone. Interested from the start and not falling for the ‘drunk idiot’ facade. She knew, she sensed there was so much more to the man.

The same what brought many problems, including his death: his sense of duty. She simply can't understand how James managed to stay not only sane but loyal to his values. And his emotional strength is something she truly admires.

A tie between his acerbic wit that matches hers in a maddeningly brilliant way and his emotional intelligence which undoubtedly helped a lot to recover parts of her.

Jack. I can picture both of them simply calling him while in the same room as him to get his attention.

A child. Communication issues, swordplay and ultimately the sea.

Encourage James to fight them until it turns out to be Jack. Ultimately she tries to understand what made them angry and there's a high chance upon finding out she will be mad too, if it isn't the banter between them.

Rozy did at first to Jack. Absolutely correct Winter quote: but the first one to say I love you to all three of them would probably be Norrington in a why "Why am I in love with both of you?"

James. Jack is bringing the spices so the food has a taste. Rozy occasionally throws in some paprika and helps with chopping/cutting stuff.

I would say a tie between Rozy and Jack. They both have...not so pleasant life experiences, understanding deep down and have the urge to help.

Stargazing & swordfighting.

Rozy's dead if we don't count the Vihar crew, James's too probably but we know his father was a DICK. So yeah Jack. But. In the long term Rozy wins by a landslide.

Murder. I mean, a combination of everything. Rozália loves both men dearly and probably couldn't live without one of them. She is incredibly observant, reads both of them like an open book even Jack. She knows what to say, when to say, what gift would move their hearts. Ultimately though, it is physical touch. Rozy went through inhumane things and it is a miracle she hadn't gone completely mad. And for that tortured woman to trust someone enough to allow and furthermore initiate contact speaks volumes.

I have dyscalculia. But if I think about Wings United verse they probably had known each other for around 10-ish years

One year blog anniversary today, so I'm throwing all the plots, ideas as a celebration at you😅

🌊 The moment when they noticed each other's ghost wings & probably comforted each other as Jack was surely not THAT drunk and Rozy was concerned whenever if she's that insane

🌹 The. Reunion. After. The. Armageddon. 🥺

🌊 Just them being happy, having fun, dancing, little acrobatics to impress, always switching who leads.

🌹 Sleepovers on the other's ship! Rozy trying to teach him meaningful Hungarian phrases, Jack stubbornly trying to braid trinkets into her short hair, literally doing each other's makeup and ending up falling asleep in the same bed. Strangely with nothing raunchy happening

🌊 Jack catching words of an another mythical treasure and this time he invites Rozy to join and not just because her swordfighting skills might be needed-

🌹 No concept of personal space, yet she doesn't flinch away reflexively & actually perfectly comfortable with his presence.

🌊 Jack proposing for once they just take a walk in the town without her skewering anyone for one day & chaos ensures along with their wild fun

🌹 Because the stark difference in their walk as Rozy's is similar to a proud soldier's from behind she gets mistaken for a marine soldier and praised for catching a pirate. She has never been more insulted in her life. Jack is laughing hysterically.

🌊 Based on the little reactions and from what she has carefully told him, Jack is aware that she is a victim of horrendous assault and adjusts his pace to hers. If something that crosses the term ‘friends’ happen, he's double checking whenever she's alright with it or not.

🌹 This man is too beautiful. She's drawn to him despite hindered by her traumas, her first gestures are careful, gentle with the wonder of doing all this for the first time in her life.

🌊 Jack both saw her smile the most along with her tears. He never even thought about making light of it, instead offered wordless comfort or distracting her with a silly story

🌹 Rozy probably saved his life on many occasions, from hanging, from the supernatural; which would be interesting if it happened the reverse as well as she's ...not really counting on him to rescue her

🌊 Jack being surprised at her ability to read people, not because he underestimated (he's never the one to make that mistake) but going by what he had seen & how she deals with others (swiftly and fatally). So he didn't suspect how great she is in that regard, only when she carefully prods at his defensive walls as he definitely hid his traumas very well, yet she seems to know exactly what and how to say for him to crumble.

🌹 He probably made out with Ferenc and Jácint at the same time. Rozy was definitely watching until a convenient moment to announce her presence.

🌊 Jack 💯 crashed Rozy's and James' @ashortdropandasuddenstop serene almost date with that highly inappropriate comment. He learned enough Hungarian to understand what she's yelling after him🤣

🌹 After that, the two decides to occasionally torment the poor Admiral at the same time.

🌊 Jack questioning Rozy's taste in men. (Not counting himself of course)

🌹 When she's queen, a visit is incredibly welcomed and to his question “Was this what you fought for?” she will answer with a tight hug; no. This is an another prison, although a much more pleasant one. He is also given amnesty everywhere she rules with the condition of not going near the coronation jewels or the Véghváry family sword. She created a safe haven for him as the movie showed he definitely not comfortable in Shipwreck Cove where he presumably grew up.

🌊 Jack's modern verse clashing with her College one where she lives a triple life as student-cage fighter-poledancer & he's the one to put it together. And probably to find her injured.

"AAAAAAAAAAH!" Came the very elegant reply as Jack booked it down the aisle, a charred ghoul not far behind him as he's booking it up the orange staircase

Calypso is happily collecting chipped paint pieces, particularly the pretty colored ones

Poor home depo employee doesn't even get to finish explaining to Rozy where the light bulbs are-

It should have been a simple trip. Emphasis on the ‘should have been’. The store was quite large with many sections so Rozy decided to stick with James @ashortdropandasuddenstop after almost getting lost in admiring the displayed knives. She was sure they had passed the nook where the bulbs were stored as the explanation went on- which was interrupted by a familiar screech.

Exactly how many immortals did that man managed to piss off?! Rozália reflexively dashed after the - presumably - Spanish ghost, ignoring the frantic employees, trying to come up with a plan that would actually work.

Wait. Didn't all these sea related ghouls hate land for some reason?

“Hé faszkalap!” (Hey dickhead!) she yelled after burnt spirit, chucking a pot full of rich soil at it, which she had swiped from a half conscious man in the gardening section

Jack actually does a lot of stupid stuff to get to laugh ranging from goofy dances, literal jokes and stories about his more wacky adventures lmao

I also like to think he introduces her to many pirate sea shanties, not only singing them for her but even explaining the meaning behind them to her.

Yes. Just plain yes, she really, really needs some distraction from her misery and duties. And what a fine distraction he is

ALSO YES. I'm sure you definitely noticed there's a very distinct difference between their English and not only Rozy's accent. Her choice of words are flourish, elegant and ...well, definitely not what you would expect from a pirate. It shows that she learned the language mostly from books. Furthermore, she actually struggles with most pirate terms, speech patterns and manners of speaking due to her way of learning & English is actually her third if not fourth language. (Hungarian, German and I don't know whenever English or Spanish comes next) So both the singing and explaining is very much appreciated💖

He's made his grand leap off the stairs case, diving with the same level of grace of a pirate leaping on his sinking ship as he, less elegantly lands on one of the display beds

Quickly he rolls over intending to immediately rise up but finds himself....on top of Rozy

"Hello Love-"

Well, in a weird sense it was relieving to know that the Goddess of Sea was also present in this whole rampage. She even seemed to be enjoying herself with her own little activity. Rozália found herself agreeing that the paint Calypso collected so far was indeed pretty and part of her was quite curious what she would use them for. She was about to ask before she remembered the reason why she was engaging in the madness -besides her own amusement- and excused herself to look for Jack.

Unfortunately the wild cart trio made an appearance again, causing her to dive and roll over beds until the thunderous shot rang out and she was thankfully unharmed.

Then someone was on top of her. A wild snarl, her last knife firmly pressed between ribs, exactly where the heart lied until the voice, the soft noise of trinkets caught up with her vision.

“Oh you're alive.” came the relieved sigh and the weapon tucked away, guilty that she almost stabbed him

...this bed was actually quite comfortable and she made no move to squirm away from the position.

“So what's the next step of the grand plan? Or don't tell me that you too have a shopping list.”
