Day 3: “My universe is empty without you”

„Okay, let’s just do this now“ Joonas said, jumping out of their bed.

„No we can’t. It’s barely after midnight“ Joel tried to argue.

„There is no rule saying that advent calendars have to be opened at a certain time“ Aleksi chimed in, siding with Joonas.

„Honey, how much sleep would you get, if we decided to wait until the morning?“ Joonas asked Joel with a teasing but warm smile on his face.

„Don’t call me honey. And none obviously, but we still can’t…Hey don’t leave me here alone…“

Quickly climbing out of bed, Joel made his way to the living room to join the other two at their selfmade advent calendar. It was actually Joonas idea to start this new tradition now that the three soulmates were complete. And Joel actually liked the idea, until he realized that he actually had to find presents for it too. And it wasn’t that he hated giving presents, he just didn’t know what to give, and those two were the most important people in his universe which made it even harder.

„We really don’t need to do this now…“ Joel tried again.

„Yes we do. You are obviously way to nervous about this. And I don’t want to imagine how many horror scenarios your mind will make up about this if we leave it until the morning.“ Joonas replied with Aleksi adding: „This could just be a part of the tradition, I bet no one opens their couple advent calendar at midnight. Also what are you so nervous about?“

Well… There are about 1000 things that Joel could argue with now. But for some reason his mind and mouth didn’t cooperate at the moment so he just stayed quiet only saying: „Just open it, you will see“

Joonas and Aleksi did as he said. They knew that no matter what they said, the nervousness wouldn’t leave until they saw what he got them.

Joel could hardly stand still seeing them both unpack the third (and first he packed) package of the calendar. When Joel first got the idea for this particular present, he was really excited and also already nervous about it. He knew he could never give Aleksi his soulmark back, but maybe this could show him just how much he belonged to their side. How much he was needed in their universe. Or maybe Joel just horribly overstepped and they will both hate him forever…

Joel was so caught up in his own head and nervousness that he didn’t even notice that Joonas and Aleksi had unwrapped his gift until he felt two bodys hug his own. „Our universe would be so empty without you too Joel“

Joel’s present: Three dog tag necklaces, that on one side have a star, a moon, and the sun engraved into them. Joonas one says on the back: My sun to light up even my darkest days. And that’s the story of how you met an archon out your bedroom window

You almost ran over to him if it weren’t for the Milileth grabbing you

That night as you walked home you couldn’t even try to keep quiet with how hard you were sobbing

You didn’t even hear the group of treasure hoarders that were beginning to gang up on you, until you heard their groans of pain

You jumped up of course, ready to try to fight, but just froze when you saw you were in Zhongli’s shield, with him right in front of you
