*the entry is mostly illegible, scribbled nonsense* *a polaroid is taped in the middle of the page*
*only one sentence can be made out beneath the image, it's scratchy and smudged*
NOT A SQUATTER

my neighbor across the hall
i don't remember her name
but i heard her scream
she came running up the stairs from storage. she left the door open, we're supposed to lock it if no one's in there
i don't even remember what i was doing
i ran out to see what was wrong. the couple next to me did, too
she was really shaken up. won't tell us what happened
i think she's crying
what the hell is down there??

Entry 7
August 28, 2010
It's Saturday.
Donny texted. He's got flashlights and cameras, got his locker key.
Asked me to bring my key, too.
And something heavy. All I've got is the broken leg of my easel - dropped the damn thing down the stairs moving in, but don't have the heart to tell Mom I broke the thing. I've had it almost a decade! ugh...
From the sounds of it, he looked up some stuff about the place, too. I think we're both hoping it's just a squatter.
Things have been quiet since...whatever happened to Stephanie (I guess that's her name?). But I don't trust it.
Let's consider writing this down quick before I run downstairs me, wishing myself luck...

Entry 6
August 26, 2010
I started talking with my neighbor Donny.
He used to be a photographer - still has a nice camera collection, apparently. Who knew??
We're gonna pick up some other stuff tomorrow and go poking around in storage this weekend.
My gut tells me this is a bad idea.
But I gotta know, ok?

The Beginning | Entry 005
<< previous entry | next entry >>
*this entry is neat compared to the others, the writer clearly wanting it to be legible. it's mostly print, a few letters straying into cursive here and there*
Entry 5
August 20, 2010
I decided to look up this building's history. Apparently it was rebuilt about forty years ago, after the original one was messed up pretty badly in an electrical fire.
*there's scribbles, denoting where multiple words got crossed out where the writer couldn't find the way they wanted to say something*
Someone died in the last building.
Not in the fire, long before it.
And not like. Some old guy fell down the stairs and hit his head, or keeled over from age or had a heart attack.
I mean like
Someone was murdered here.
I didn't want to see pics, but I did. And they were bad.
It was an unsolved case.
From almost seventy years ago.
in the space that's now the storage garage.

The Beginning | Journal Entry 003
<< previous entry | next entry >>
*the next entry is the messiest yet, the start almost appearing to be written with a shaky hand. the writing eventually steadies, but remains somewhat messy*
Entry 3
*illegible date* 2010
yep
cool
I think my apartment building is haunted
because I totally wanna deal with that!
look, ok, I know old buildings like this can be crappy at best, but... the heating is new. and like. I'm no electrician, but it at least seems like the wiring and lighting and crap is to code, yknow???
and lights don't just. turn themselves off. the lightswitch can't just flip itself, right??
I live on the second floor. the hallway light is always left on. trust me, I know! I can see it in the gap under my front door. hell, I didn't even know where the hallways switch was until it turned off on me and I had to look for it! ugh, about made me drop my groceries when I tripped on the last step....
and, well.
I had to grab something out of the storage garage. don't even remember what I wanted at this point
the storage is nothing special, just a large room in the basement, with lockers that the tenants can keep stuff in that they don't want or can't fit in their flats. simple stuff, we have a key for our locker type deal
anyway...
it shouldn't be that cold down there. it's August
*"August" is written in scratchy, bold pen as if to emphasize it*
I thought my neighbors were just paranoid when they said they didn't like being down there. just...folks not liking dark basements, yknow? normal things
but...I get it, now
that feeling, that someone's there. watching. I couldn't shake it while I was in my locker. when the light flickered I chickened out and ran back upstairs
there's something down there
and it scares me.

The Beginning | Journal Entry 002
<< previous entry | next entry >>
*the next page is written somewhat neater than the first, in mostly cursive this time. the cursive still shifts to print in a few places*
Entry 2
*illegible date* 2010
Ok. Maybe Mom was kinda right.
Writing this stuff down did help a little.
Probably because it distracted me for a while.
...eh. ok, fine. I'll give writing this crap down for a while a shot, ok?
so let's start over:
I really don't like this building.
There's this...feeling. Like...there's someone watching me. One of those things that I know is irrational, but can't help the way the hair on the back of my neck stands up, or the goosebumps that raise on my arms.
And these chills.
They're awful! I was told the place got central heating installed within the last year, it shouldn't have these cold spots.
Maybe I should message the landlord or something.
Ugh.. I hate old buildings.

The Beginning | Journal Entry 001

*the book is old, the cover and pages yellowed by time (and maybe a coffee stain or two). it holds a curve no matter how one tries to flatten it* *it's an average notebook, not unlike what would be used in school. the writing inside is a touch messy, shifting with no rhyme or reason between print and cursive, often right in the middle of a word* *the cover of the old book is faded blue, marked with black marker. "Thoughts" was originally written there, but is crossed out with a crude X - under it is "Ghost Stuff" with a handful of question marks scribbled under it* *page 1 begins:*
Entry 1
*illegible date* 2010
Mom suggested I write out my thoughts. I just kinda rolled my eyes and said how silly that sounded.
She just shrugged.
Just a suggestion, she said. Said it might help my anxiety about living on my own for the first time.
Yeah.
Right.
But fine. She's never led me wrong before, so I'll give it a shot.
I guess.
Ugh. Wish the sigh that just gave me could be heard through a damn page.
We'll start simple, I guess.
This old apartment gives me the heebie jeebies. (is that how it's spelled??? heebie jeebies.
Looks funny now that I'm looking at it..
Ugh. Why am I doing this???
*the page is crinkled, as though the writer contemplated tearing it out before deciding against it. the rest of the page is blank, suggesting the writer gave up on the entry*

Main Blog | The Team | Send An Ask
OOC: Hello! My name is Oliver (or Void), and this is my in-character Phasmophobia ask blog.
Here, feel free to ask blog-runner Zero any questions you might have about him, his career as a paranormal investigator, its team, its encounters with the paranormal, etc.!
All questions will be answered in-character, as if he's running the blog himself, and I'll do my best to accompany answers with a piece of art.
Outside of asks, Zero will be documenting his journey as an investigator, so you'll get to witness how its career progresses.
Some basic rules:
No NSFW or racist/bigoted questions
This is an LGBTQ+ friendly space (both mun and muse are queer, too)
Things will by default be answered IC. Please specify if a question is meant for Oliver instead of Zero
You can ask questions to other members of the team, just be sure to specify who you're asking
I have the right to ignore a question if it makes me uncomfortable or is hateful/rude
Have your own investigator? I don't RP, but send me a message and we may be able to figure something out for a crossover/cameo
