A very important point in AZ and Xan's story is them visiting their mother's grave ... For AZ and Floette it's their first time in a long time, but for Xanthos, who was away (meaning: raging a war) during the time she passed, it's his first time ever...
I like to think that after that, they start visiting every year at least once... I think at some point into their relationship, AZ invites Nerine to come see her, too.

I think AZ doesn't really battle with Floette due to Past Trauma Reasons, but Floette herself likes battle and will actively pick fights sometimes 😭 I like the idea of her being shockingly tomboyish

I will explain anyways even though it's Convoluted 🫶🏾
"unmoving water" = Nerine and her desires for things to remain stagnant. She wants things to be unchanging forever which is part of why she's so emotionally immature. it's also why her relationship with AZ didn't work at first, because they mutually struggled to engage with one another as the person they are NOW rather than the person they were in the past
"disappearing flower" = Floette that's quite literally what she does 😭 a flower that vanishes and isn't to be seen again for several centuries
"frozen prayers" = Xanthos ... He's always struggled to let himself rely on other people and it only grows worse after his brother disappears. Despite this, some part of him deep down wishes for his brother to return and Guide him. But it's an impossible wish... Especially because at this point, Xan thinks AZ is dead 😭
"rusted sea" = AZ ... This one is hard to explain without getting into some Deeply depressing personal lore. But also, despite being a ground type, Zygarde makes me think of the ocean... More specifically the very depths of the sea where no light can enter. A murky, mystifying darkness... And sometimes I imagine that while within this darkness, it appears to AZ. It's connected to the personal lore I don't wanna her into rn 😭
Really want to draw like, fake anime ending screenshots with the bronze age quartet (new shorthand name for Nerine / AZ / Xanthos / Floette)
I was wondering what a good song I should use for it is, but this part from Like The Galloping Wind is perfect... 😭 Idk if I want to explain why it fits bc it's convoluted though
