"I-I see..." the girl says softly, taking several subtle steps away from Kaito the second he said his age. "How interesting..."

“Greetings, world! My name is Kaito Momota, Luminary of the Stars! I’m an up incoming astronaut and I’m looking forward to head into space. Since she hasn't been away from her trauma long enough, the word isn't yet a trigger for her because her subconscious hasn't had the time to process it and regard the word as a "starter" for her abuse. The concerning thing is that she has an incorrect term for it, which means it had to have been addressed that way to her beforehand.

A kid wouldn't know how to articulate something like this, so their explanation may not make sense until it's put into perspective. She's doing her best, she just doesn't know the right terminology. But she's way too young to be able to say she won't die a virgin... Something is wrong here.

If the others haven't been through the same thing, they may not be ready to hear the conversation...

Stars fill Kotoko's eyes and she immediately lunges forward and hugs him. For a kid that has such trouble trusting people, she certainly does seem comfortable with Kaito. Not yet to the point of being willing to tell him everything he asks, but enough that she won't dodge his questions. :)
