“in here, in here!” he yanks lovebug’s arm, pulling her along with him as he decides to take a sudden sharp right towards the eerie building hallway. feet sliding on the floor, her hand in his, they’re quick down the hall before the people pursuing them have much of a chance to catch up. with another sharp right, spider-man tugs his loving fellow hero into a bathroom. he’s relieved it’s a single bathroom and not one lined with stalls, giving them all the more privacy. briefcase still in hand— webbed to his hand for extra assurance he flips the lock to occupied. “shhhh,” he holds his finger up to where his mouth is just under the mask and presses an ear close to the door, waiting for the rush of loud steps to pass by. “okay, okay. i think we’re in the clear!”

tearing away at the webs between his hands and the briefcase, he sets it on the floor and crouches beside it. gloved fingers run over the lock dials. there’s no shortage of them. “uhhhhhhmmmm.” he sucks in a breath, and this time when his filler words return, there’s a hum to them. “where to begin, i don’t know,” head down, still dialing numbers, he doesn’t think anything of it as first as a certain lyrical quality comes over his words. “but we can’t let this fall into the hands of our foe.” under his mask his entire face shifts, confusion evident even through the fabric. “oh?”
