Sherry Leblanc - @tophatz
Tumblr media
She looked away, embarrassed at herself. It wasn't like her to hold a grudge, and after everything they went through, she ought to at least give Leblanc the benefit of the doubt. Hadn't there once been a time she was willing to forgive people without hesitation? Trudge, of course. Barbara. Malcolm and Ramon-- although she was too young to know what damages they were causing at the time. Even Sayer. She hadn't fully forgiven him, but she did risk her life to save him. And maybe even succeeded, which made things worse for everyone.
Somehow, she lost sight of that forgiveness after Goodwin's actions, though. She became a lot colder to anyone who spoke to her. In hindsight, a lot of the friends she and Yusei made had been people who opposed them at first, and ultimately accepted a hand of friendship. Sherry was no different, yet something still put Sylvia on edge around the woman.
Tumblr media
"Sorry," she finally said, curt and short in her response. "Ignore me. I'm tense." She extended her hand for a handshake. "Sylvia Reviar. Team Shining Storm. Toru and Yusei's sister."

Duel Academy - @tophatz
Just as she thought she was safe from any prodding, the Ra student behind her recognized her almost instantly. Pink hair wasn't exactly uncommon, but it also wasn't fully common, either. Still, she was the only one in the academy not wearing a uniform, since she couldn't stand the Obelisk female uniform, and just wearing the male one wouldn't work because the tailcoats were way too long to fit on her Duel Runner without getting caught dangerously. So she'd chosen neither option and simply wore the outfit she'd bought with Akiza in the future.
Tumblr media
"...maybe," she finally answered suspiciously. She had no way of knowing every single rumor surrounding her, but she knew there were plenty. Especially in a time before New Domino City, when Old Domino City was still standing, and especially in a time before Synchro Monsters. Unlike Yusei, she didn't rely on them completely to make her deck viable, but even in her own time, Weather Painters were considered unique and one-of-a-kind. There were only two copies of each card in the world, both owned by her, one in her standing and Turbo decks each.
"Sorry, but I'm in a bit of a hurry. If you're going to ask me to duel you, could it be some other time? I'm tired."

NAME: Sylvia Reviar
AGE: 16
SPECIES: Human
GENDER: Female
ORIENTATION: Panromantic demisexual
PROFESSION: Student, animal shelter volunteer, Phantom Thief (Persona 5 verse), Pokemon rehab researcher and Pokemon Trainer (Pokemon verse), turbo duelist (Yu-Gi-Oh! verse), mage or bard (Fire Emblem or other fantasy verses)
—————————————————————————- { PHYSICAL ASPECTS }
BODY TYPE: Short and slender. Depending on the verse, if she does any kind of fighting, she sticks to moving quickly and avoiding attacks by nimbly dodging, and doesn't hit hard as a result, but her magic stat is usually pretty high.
EYES: Cerulean blue
SKIN: Very light white, a little pinkish, with freckles on her cheeks and nose, and a little bit on her shoulders.
HEIGHT: 4'11. Like I said, she's teeny-tiny.
—————————————————————————- { FAMILY }
FAMILY: She's adopted, so she doesn't have any distant relatives, however Khari Reviar is her adopted father. He doesn't have any siblings or living parents, though. In the YGO verse, she has an adopted grandfather named Klaus. That's the only verse where her family is different.
SIBLINGS: Jack Reviar, her older brother, and Lucy Reviar, her younger sister. Despite being in the middle, Lucy has often stepped up to protect her, making Sylvia sort of the youngest in spirit. In YGO, she doesn't have any blood related siblings, but Toru is her adopted brother.
ANY PETS?: Typically, no, but depending on the verse, she may have a pet horse living with her family. In P5 and YGO, her family owns a farm, and one horse she has bonded particularly close with is a black horse named Opal. In the Pokemon verse, of course, there are lots of Pokemon around her. In fantasy verses, she has a pet raven named Fleck. In Fire Emblem, she has no pets, but I may give her Opal again as a mount.
—————————————————————————- { SKILLS }
Sylvia is an artist who tends to be a jack of all trades. While her forte isn't in physical activity or movement, her real strengths lie in her love of art, music, writing, acting, and playing. In every verse, what makes her unique is her ability to skillfully draw and play music or sing. Whenever she is in combat, she usually also has surprisingly strong magical powers, sometimes to the point that it's difficult for her to control them, and they can end up going wild and hurting her or the people around her as a result. She is also rather intelligent, and gets high grades consistently in class, but because of her autism and undiagnosed ADHD, she relies quite a bit on accommodations such as extended test time or wearing headphones while studying. Her creative mind makes it so she is never bored when she's alone, meaning she doesn't often seek out other people, but gets lonely more easily as a result. When she gets so caught up in her own world, it's sometimes difficult to pull her out of it without startling her.
—————————————————————————- { LIKES }
COLORS: Pink, white, blue, purple, and any pastel color
SMELLS: Fresh baked bread, berries and fruits, any kind of evergreen, flowers such as roses, lavender, and cherry blossom, and snow.
SOUNDS: River water, cats meowing, music (in particular, she loves higher-pitched melodic sounds, like glockenspiel, music boxes, and flute), the sound of hooves or heels on the hard ground (for some reason it's just satisfying), and the sound of using a keyboard.
TEXTURES: Anything super soft and fluffy or fuzzy, like blankets, hoodies, and fur.
FOOD: She likes many kinds of food, but her absolute favorite are steak, as well as pomegranates and blueberries.
ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES?: yes [ ] || rarely [ ] || no [X]
FAVORITES: Anything that looks beautiful. She loves the stars, the sky, flowers, animals, the sea, what lies beneath the sea, friendships, sunsets, anything within which she can find beauty, she loves. She also likes happy endings in stories, and fairy tales that sometimes put a twist on the story, and she loves games with colorful aesthetics and graphics. So long as it's cute, most likely she likes it.
—————————————————————————- { OTHER DETAILS }
SMOKES?: yes  [ ] || no [X] || occasionally [ ]
DRUGS?: yes [ ] || no (unless they're prescribed) [X] || occasionally [ ]
DRIVER LICENSE?: yes (Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's verse) [X] || no (most other verses, but she can drive a tractor in Persona) [X]
EVER BEEN ARRESTED?: no [X] || yes [ ] || almost/detained  [ ]
—————————————————————————-

I kinda wanna duel. Or have a Pokemon battle. Doesn't matter which.
If it's a battle, I'll probably go with Sylvia's classic team: Piplup, Swablu, Breloom (I decided to replace Budew with Shroomish because sometimes the anime does that, even if the Pokemon is not available in the games, and also because Shroomish is my beloved friend who appeared in my dreams when I was little), Rapidash, Drifblim, and Pikachu.
It doesn't have to be six-on-six; that would probably drag on too long. But I definitely want to have a battle and see how it goes. Maybe I should set up a system for rolling d20s to see if moves hit. Or maybe we could just ask "may I dodge" or smth idk
I guess what I'm getting at is that I'm bored and would like some action. Anyone out there up for a challenge?

I wanna rp duel someone with my modified deck.
like, yu-gi-oh duel.
I have a deck of Weather Painters on duelingbook that I tried to make as fairly as possible, while also trying to keep the spectacle. I turned The Weather Painter Rainbow from a Link Monster into a Fusion Monster, and I made Moonbow from a Link Monster to a Synchro Monster. I also added a Tuner monster to make it possible to Synchro Summon Moonbow: The Weather Painter Wind, who represents the color red and has a mechanical pencil. I drew her ages ago and am probably due to redraw her sometime soon, but she's there as a Level 1 Tuner monster. Both Rainbow and Moonbow are Level 7 monsters. Since Sylvia's a Signer, she technically also has a Signer Dragon called The Weather Sky Dragon, but since I'm not as sure about it being legally fair, I'm not comfortable with rping with it or any of my other custom cards that I've made (besides Windy Canvas, which came with Wind).
I would like to challenge someone on my dash to a duel. I'm not willing to duel with pendulum or link monsters (ironic, I know, but I just really dislike them; I think Xyz is the limit for me). If you're uncomfortable dueling with Sylvia using Weather Painters, I can use a perfectly legal and unmodified The Agents deck instead. It doesn't matter to me; I just want to duel someone in character.
It also may or may not help me with scripting practice ^^;
Also, the outcome of the duel doesn't matter to me. We could have the duel in Duelingbook, record it, and then add character to the duel, or I could script the whole thing from scratch, get your opinion on it, and decide the victor in the way we think feels the most dramatic.
I could also script duels for people who aren't myself. I just really want a project that involves dueling, because I feel like I need to get better at writing duels for my own sake.

‘have we met?’ (@defonslaxii)
(Nice to meet you!)
Send me 'Have we met?' and I will give you little bits of my OC from 5 AUs
Pokemon AU
Breathe... Just breathe... It's going to be okay... Inhale... then exhale...
Natu growled and snarled, its beak still biting into her flesh as tightly as it could. She carefully lifted her hand and, slowing her heart rate as much as she could through controlled breathing, stroked the poor Psychic-type Pokemon's head. "Natu," she said, purposely calling its name. "Natu, it's okay. I know you've been hurt in the past, that's why I'm here."
"Pipiplup...!" Pip worriedly clung to her leg, staring up at her nervously.
She smiled, not minding the blood slowly oozing down her arm. "Everything's going to be okay. Natu, tell me what the issue is. Why did you fight? What hurt you? Tell me everything, and I will listen. Natu..."
She could see the darkness emanating from the small Pokemon slowly starting to die down. The pressure on her arm was starting to get lighter and lighter, as Natu soon regained its senses and slowly opened its heart back up, little by little. It wasn't fully healed or purified, sadly. But these things took time, and Sylvia fully intended to heal everyone she could. That's why she created this program. Why she held it in Sandgem Town, her home town, where there was plenty of land for a ranch outside of the overwhelming Jubilife City. Pip relaxed his tense little body, relieved that Natu let go. Sylvia whispered reassurances in Natu's ears and held it close.
She would do everything she could to make up for being Team Galactic's pawn.
Persona 5 AU (tw: suicidal ideation)
Rain always scared her, because following rain, almost always, was the rumble of thunder. Loud, abrasive, and bright. Days like this made her anxiety spike, so she did what she could to focus as hard as possible on her classes in an effort to distract herself. Unfortunately, it wasn't so easy with Japanese being her third language.
Still, she turned her head away from the windows, completely drenched in rainwater and steadily dripping down and down, and turned her gaze to the drawing she was making in her sketchbook. It wasn't amazing, but it was helpful. Doodling like this made her feel like she had at least a little bit of stability.
It would be okay. She'd die soon anyway, and no one would miss her. Why fear for her life when death was inevitable?
Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's AU
"Hey, I need a tester for this."
"On it." Sylvia walked over to the Runner in the garage and mounted it, putting on her helmet and double-checking the controls to make sure everything was in working order. "Say when?"
"Sure." Yusei pressed some buttons on his mini-monitor, screwed something shut on the Runner, reapplied the muffler, then started his simulation. "Now."
She rested her feet on the pedals and twisted the handles, watching the speedometer steadily increase in number. The smell of oil and grease permeated the whole room, and it only got worse as she revved the engine of the vehicle trying to get to the standard Turbo Dueling speed and ensure it was working alright. Before, when Satellite had yet to be rebuilt, she and Yusei had to do this kind of testing down in the underground tunnels, where a subway used to run. When something went wrong, they were forced to drag their Runners back to the hideout and fix it. Lifting the Runner using machines like this and testing the wheel speed and strength on a treadmill was much easier. No trekking back required.
Yusei lifted his hand to the headset in his ear. After Jack's little incident, they realized it would be more efficient to have clear communication through the helmet.
"Alright, that's enough. I see the issue now."
"Understood."
Fire Emblem: New Mystery of the Emblem AU
"The seventh platoon is missing!" a guard cried. "They were last seen traveling into the forest, but we lost track of them!"
"Find them!" Jagen yelled, stomping his spear into the ground. "We can't have cadets going missing! Send the pegasus knights! Search for them at once!"
"What's going on...?" Sylvia whimpered, glancing up at the princess.
Elice pursed her lips and cast her gaze out to the forest. "Trouble, it seems..."
Sylvia had been learning magic from Elice using a tome, a method she was unfamiliar with. Having no memories, no weapons, and no other ways to defend herself, she relied upon the princess's assistance in learning magic. Princess Elice had sensed the potential within her, but for some reason, Sylvia could naught make but an ember of flame anytime she tried.
Yet, even though she knew she could do nothing, she fretted. Wasn't her savior in the seventh platoon? What if she was endangered? Or worse, what if...?
Pegasus knights sliced through the air overhead, their steeds racing through the skies in the direction of the forest, led by Princess Caeda, His Highness's betrothed. She couldn't do nothing.
Ignoring Princess Elice's protests, Sylvia rushed into the forest, taking her book with her and praying she wouldn't be too late.
Pokemon Legends Arceus AU
"Has she always been like this?"
"Yes. Not a single word spoken."
"Kinda odd, isn't it? Shiro and Haru speak fine, and they fell from the sky too."
"You think it's a personality thing?"
"Discussing it now is a waste of time, and time wasted is lost. I merely want to help her get back on her feet."
"How can we help?"
She could hear them discussing what to do about her. Admittedly, she wasn't sure herself. The Diamond Clan had been kind enough to take her in when she'd apparently fallen from the sky, and they even took their precious time to teach her their language and traditions. She was grateful, but nervous. What happened when they discovered she truly was wasting their time? Would she be kicked out? She didn't want that.
In truth, she was merely afraid. She spoke no words in front of the others not because she couldn't talk, but because she couldn't bring herself to. Instead, she helped where she could without words. She befriended some Pokemon and helped them along on their way, but did her best to avoid greeting human visitors. Whether they were the Pearl Clan, the Ginkgo Guild, or those Galactic people, she tried to make herself look busy and blend in as much as she could. However, Clan Leader Adaman had other plans.
Pearl Clan Leader Irida and Galactic Agents Shiro, Rei, and Akari now stood before her, and the white-haired Shiro would not stop staring at her, no matter how much she tried to avoid his gaze. He was persistent, she'd give him that.
"Sakura," Shiro finally spoke up, calling her name. She glanced up at him, turning her body away defensively. "Tell me; did you fall out of the sky with one of these?" He reached out his hand, holding something. Sakura's eyes widened in recognition.
It was an Arc-Phone.

❛ i like it out here. it’s peaceful. ❜ (( From Misawa! ))
Sylvia hadn't expected anyone to come all the way down to the lighthouse at this time of night. She didn't often come here, but there were times she just needed to cool down and get away from everything happening on this cursed island.
Looking out over the water reminded her of the times she and Yusei would drive down the Satellite highway, practicing against each other, then stopping every once in a while either when the duel was done or their Runners had issues that needed solving. Or when they needed rest.
On days like those, they often climbed to the highest point of the highway and stared out through the gap of destroyed buildings at the sea, where glimmering lights shimmered in the horizon, indicating just how out of reach New Domino City really was. They would stare out in silence, with nothing but each other's company. Sometimes Sylvia talked to Yusei and filled the void of silence with her voice, be it singing, chatting about nothing, asking questions... But there were also times she was too tired to talk.
There were also times she stared out completely by herself. They were much rarer since she and Yusei became closer, but every once in a while he was too busy with his own things to rest with her. So on the off chance she happened to pass by the spot or just needed to get away from the boys for an hour or two, she stared out across the sea on the highway.
Today was one of those days she'd gotten overstimulated. They happened much more frequently now, on Duel Academy Island, than they did in Satellite. All the rumors and challenges and pointed stares were getting tiresome. Then, all of a sudden, she heard a voice in a soft accent breaking the silence.
"I like it out here. It's peaceful."
Tumblr media
She reacted to the voice by moving just a little bit, but despite her curiosity, chose not to turn around and meet their gaze. If they really wanted to talk to her-- actually talk to her, not harass her-- they could prove it from over there. She didn't have to acknowledge them.
All she gave him (the voice was male, of that she was certain) was a soft hum in response, as she continued looking out over the sea. Domino City was just on the other side of that vast body of water. She couldn't imagine New Domino City looking any different from how she saw it toda-- er, in the future. Seeing it without the signature stadium, and the old-timey KaibaCorp tower and Kaiba Dome... It felt unreal.
Sometimes she kept wishing she woke up, and all of this had been some terrible dream. That Yusei, Crow, Toru, Misaki... Everyone would be there when she woke up. Then she did wake up and saw no one. That's how she knew it was all too real to be a dream.

[HIGH] Sender gets something off the high shelf for receiver (because I think I lost the meme you sent me so here is something to start an interaction. *gives flowers in sorry for being months late to start anything.*)
What she wouldn't give for just one or two more inches... Did she really have to stop growing before she even reached five feet? She was like... a pygmy among pygmies! And of course, as a Turbo Duelist, no one took her seriously partially due to her height, of all things. "Cutesy fairies" this, "Rainbow Dash" that. All anyone ever said about her was how completely and utterly unintimidating she was as an opponent.
Well, it worked out fine for her on the track. No one took her seriously, so she could sweep the rug out from under their wheels just by setting up with Snowy and Thundery Canvases, easy. It was a lot harder to win when someone did take her seriously and disrupted her plans.
Her Runner, Lightspeed, had been through some hellish ordeals in the past, too. It survived with her after everything. Running away from Goodwin, crashing in Satellite, making it back to the City after losing her memories, getting brainwashed and losing her memories again-- why did it seem like Fate loved playing with her mind?
In the end, after winning the battle against the Dark Signers, she'd found herself alone someplace and she didn't remember how she got there. Just trying to survive and making ends meet was difficult enough as it was, and becoming a worker in a book shop in Domino City-- not even New Domino City, just Domino--left her like this, struggling to grab a certain book from the high shelf even using a step stool as assistance.
Beside her, a well-tanned arm towered over her head and reached the book she was searching for much easier than she could by herself. The stranger handed the book to her, and she stepped down from the stool. She was a little too embarrassed to meet their gaze, so she hung her head and bowed slightly.
Tumblr media
"Ah, um... t-thank you, sir." There had only been a few people in the shop today. Just her, the kind old woman who owned the shop, and a couple of customers. This appeared to be the somewhat flashy customer, who was dressed in a slightly eccentric, yet stylish manner.
She set the book down on a pile of books she'd been collecting, and carried it over to the front desk where the old woman was double-checking a checklist of her inventory.
Tumblr media
She turned around to face the customer. "I'm sorry for the wait. Can I help you with anything?"

Duel Academy - @tophatz
Tumblr media
Just as she was about to simply pass the student by, of course she had to be stopped in the hallway for the fifth time that day. Are you Sylvia Reviar? The one with Synchro Monsters? Are you the delinquent girl with pink hair and rainbow monsters? Are you the girl who talks to herself and rides on a motorcycle with glass ornaments attached to it?
For the record, those were approved by the Security Bureau in her time. It wasn't her fault she accidentally jumped into an old era. She knew Yusei had done it before, but getting back was in itself a difficult affair. How did he manage to do it? All her attempts to call for the Crimson Dragon fell on deaf ears so far.
She'd never gone to a school before. She saw movies and shows, and heard rumors about what schools were like. But when KaibaCorp sponsored her enrollment in Duel Academy, she hadn't expected their prestigious school to be built right next to an active volcano, for one thing, and for another, to be surrounded by dangerous uninhabited forests. Not to mention the dorm system was broken as hell, and the uniforms were absolute garbage. Not the Ra or Slifer ones, though-- those blazers seemed at least somewhat normal. No, what irked her the most was Obelisk, as well as the blatant hierarchy in what should've been an all-inclusive school. All in all, the whole island was atrocious, and she was getting sick of running laps around it and its students.
She took a deep breath and did her best to remain patient and amiable. Chances like this didn't come often, after all. Who knew the times of Old Domino City would have so much information to offer her? Egyptian Gods, Kings of Games, the history of Duel Monsters itself... The development of Synchro Monsters seemed to be a relatively new thing, since Zero Reverse must've occurred fifty years later at the very least, if the technological advances were anything to go by.
She'd garnered enough attention as it was. She ought to sate the student's curiosity and leave as quickly as she could. She was starting to get tired.
Tumblr media
"...who's asking?"
Dammit. That's not the right response. Had Yusei rubbed off on her?

"My... spunk...?" Sylvia mumbled, suddenly doubting herself. "I'm... not sure about that. I've just gotten... a little paranoid, I guess."
'A little paranoid' was understating it quite a bit. After leaving her hometown to chase after Toru, she found herself in Goodwin's clutches for the better part of three months, forced into experimentation and weird lectures about the "people of the stars". Then, when she finally gained the courage to steal her Runner and take back her cards and run away, she was chased down by Sector Security until she crashed in Satellite so hard that she lost her memory. And after that, it took ages to work up the courage to win Yusei's trust, and for Yusei to convince her to come back to the City to discover her "mysterious origins," and when they finally did that, after running from the police a second time, Yusei got swept up in a duel with Jack and then arrested, and meanwhile she had been kidnapped by an evil psychic cult!
Then there was the whole thing with Signers and Dark Signers, thinking she was a real Signer until it was revealed that she wasn't, and Goodwin was behind everything, getting accepted by the Crimson Dragon anyway, and then spending another six months after that rebuilding the city AND Satellite after the absolute disaster he caused. Misaki was the one who found her first, and led her to Toru. The three of them formed Team Shining Storm before Toru got word about the chaos happening in Crash Town, and when she went back, she finally saw her grandfather again after almost two years of absence and amnesia. And still she didn't remember anything until everyone nearly died.
Sherry had kidnapped Yusei, yes, but ultimately her actions were somewhat minimal compared to everything else. Yusei forgave her, and Akiza ended up learning how to Turbo Duel because of that. Technically, everything was fine. But still, Sylvia was a bundle of nerves. She really just wanted a break.
Tumblr media
"You here to sign up for the tournament, too? I hear Jack wanted to host something, so they set up another Turbo tournament. Toru desperately wanted to challenge Jack, so he dragged Misaki and me here to sign up."
Tumblr media
Sherry wasn't expecting an apology, but it's welcomed with a slight smile nonetheless. The sort of smile that never quite reaches the brightness of Akiza's or the mischief of Crow's, but has to it an air of Yusei's limited expression, just bolder.
" That's quite alright. I've done enough to offend in my time so I wasn't particularly surprised at the animosity. " she reassures, nodding and taking the other's hand for a firm, almost formal-leaning handshake.
Tumblr media
" Reviar. Yes, I've heard Yusei speak of you. " she says, a stream of recollection within her mind as though rolling like a tape. She remembers the name mentioned a couple of times with the fondness of an older brother. " Pleasure to meet you. " She finally decides, letting go of her hand and stepping aside. " I like your spunk. It's the sort that can only come out of taking hardship and beating it till it cries your name out. "

Yep. She thought so. It was more questions about her deck. She understood the curiosity of the other students, but even in the future she was never hounded like this before. It was a bit unsettling, especially with the student body latching so quickly onto the most interesting subject of gossip on the island that was unrelated to classes or homework.
If it wasn't a duel request, it was a chance to have a peek at her cards. If it wasn't a peek at her cards, it was the supposed "secret to her success," or whatever.
This Ra student was being very courteous, for someone who followed the crowd, but she was getting tired of people asking. Her cards were not an exhibit to be marveled at. They were the result of her hard work and power of creation. They were... well, hers. Besides, dueling was a means of survival. Why would she share her strategies with anyone who could potentially become an opponent at any moment?
Huh. Maybe living in Satellite made her a little paranoid. But after everything that happened to her before she lost her memories, maybe she was entitled to a little bit of paranoia. It was her naivety that got her in this mess in the first place, after all.
Tumblr media
"Ahem. L-look, I'm sorry, but I don't go around sharing my deck strategies to just anyone. It's dangerous," she said, trying to politely decline him. "I'm sorry for being rude. I'm just... protective of my cards, that's all."
As she said that, she stood somewhat defensively, squaring her shoulders and slightly moving her Duel Disk-equipped arm behind her back so she wouldn't have to address it. She'd gotten so snippy lately; she ought to work on quelling that newfound temper of hers. If she accidentally hurt someone while she was here, she was afraid to face the consequences. A duel, detention, probation... the possibilities were endless. Her actions here had consequences, not to mention the ripple they could cause in the flow of time if she failed to return back to New Domino City.
Right now, she just really wanted to get back to her dorm.
I'm tired."
