saweetie’s “all night” verse played in the background while she entered the set of the music video shoot for the exact song—alongside girl group, ive. days apart from the social media frenzy, she was excited to hide her face in work and do what she loved most: entertainment.

‘ so, today i’m filming a music video with a talented kpop group, ive, and honestly, i’m so excited for this one. any time where i can dabble in a new sound, i’m all for it. i think it’s super important to expand your creative palette. ’

while awaiting her cue to film her scenes, chanel sat in one of the director’s chairs prior to being approached by one of her homegirls who came as moral support. she checked on the rapper, asking her if she was excited about the music video. “i’m a lil’ nervous, but it’s the good kind of butterflies,” she smirked, hearing her phone ring from her duffle bag in the seat next to her. it was spice.

‘ i haven’t spoken to naomi ever since she went on that podcast. i’ve since cooled down, but i’m more focused on work. i love her, but i have to from a distance from here on out. ’

“girl,” she rolled her eyes, darting her attention towards her friend. acrylics flashing her phone screen, filling her in on what she might’ve missed. “now she keep texting my phone and i literally don’t want to speak to her. i can’t fake the funk, but i’m also just too busy to deal with her boredom.” chanel blatantly ignored naomi’s multiple imessages, sliding her phone back inside of her bag before finishing her shoot.

chanel set-hopped all week long, this one being for velma—though she was able to finish voice recording, she still had to shoot promotional content such as pictures, videos, and extra voice recordings. she’d been running on an energy drink and her drive to be the best, multifaceted version of herself. versatility was where she thrived, she felt.

“i can’t believe i grew up watching scooby-doo and all these years later i’m guest starring in a spinoff for the franchise,” she spoke to her makeup and hair-stylists, soaking in the surreal feeling. “how much time do we have before they need me?” “now,” her manager awkwardly laughed.

chanel quickly gathered herself before exiting the dressing room, designer-embellished soles gracing the expensive set. she greeted the cast and team of the project—engaging in conversation before eventually placing herself before the camera. posing before a green screen, she made sure to give the crew multiple selections to choose from; enjoying the spotlight they’d given her.

“you’re a natural, saweetie!” the photographer fueled her fire and she loved every second of it. once she wrapped her session, she sweetly thanked the velma crew before sauntering off toward her dressing room. she took a seat at the vanity while switching her heels into a pair of her comfortable marni slides. “have you talked to the label executives yet? the fans are flooding your comments.”

‘ my fans have always made it known they want my debut album, they don’t understand the business side of the industry. however, ever since naomi left me off of her top 5 list, people have been saying i had no reason to feel a way towards her when i don’t have a solid album out yet. ’

“yeah, they aren’t budgeting my rollout until they believe i have a great body of work,” she replied to her hairstylist, standing up to fully slide her feet inside the slides. “they basically said i have to get back in the studio and damn near rebuild the project. birthday, richtivities, and my best have all been scrapped from the album—per warner. nani was the only single able to do well on radio, so as of now, pbm has less than five official songs on the tracklist.” “wow.. so now what?” he asked. “i have to get back in the studio.” disappointment evident, chanel shrugged while wheeling her suitcase out of the dressing room.

Do you dare to check in? 🛎️ The infamous Overlook Hotel, nestled in the isolated Colorado Rockies, has a dark and mysterious history. Known for its eerie atmosphere and paranormal activity, the hotel has attracted visitors looking for a thrilling experience. This weekend, a group of individuals, each with their own reasons, has checked in. As night falls, strange occurrences begin to happen, turning a weekend getaway into a nightmare. ⸻ imagine yourself in the situation and create your character as they are trapped in a horror movie come true. bonus: get your creative juices flowing and write a oneshot. what happened before the picture? where is your character headed now? are they searching for their friends/the people that arrived with them or are they investigating something different entirely? what else is lurking amongst the shadows?

„I am surprised seeing you here, Mike.”, ertönte es aus dem prächtig großen Saal des Fairchild Anwesens, als der junge Avatar zügigen Schrittes an der Doppeltür vorbeimarschierte. „Not now, Simon. I really have to take a shower. I can’t get rid of this awful smell of raw meat.”, rief Mike zurück zur Tür, ohne auch nur anzuhalten und den Herrn des Hauses zu grüßen. „Are you sure about that? Taking a shower now would cost you precious time you could spend elsewhere.”, säuselte der alte Mann munter, der mit seinen dubiosen Aussagen darauf abzielte, das Interesse des jungen Schützlings zu wecken. Dass er damit Erfolg hatte, zeigt sich anhand dessen, dass er hören konnte, wie Mike kehrt machte und nun im Türrahmen stand.

Der älteste der Fairchilds saß gemütlich in seinem ledernen Ohrensessel und las völlig unbekümmert den neuesten Zeitungsbericht seines letzten Gewaltaktes. Disastrous Explosion of Theseus VII — Five astronauts dead, two missing. Mike konnte erahnen, was den zwei Vermissten geschehen war. Oder viel mehr, wo sie sich befanden.

„So? What is it?”, fragte er den Alten ungeduldig, der wiederum die Zeitung gemächlich zurecht faltete, sie glattstrich und auf den kleinen hölzernen Beistelltisch ablegte, wo sein heißer Tee mit ähnlicher Gelassenheit vor sich hin dampfte. Um Mike noch etwas mehr zu triezen, nahm der Fairchild glucksend die Tasse in die Hand und schlürfte, ohne den jungen Mann aus den Augen zu lassen, seinen aromatisierten Jasmintee. Mikes Augenlid zuckte unmerklich und die schiere Dreistigkeit ließ ihn ungläubig grinsen.

„My, my, you’re so tense already and I haven’t even started telling you the bad news yet.”

“I wouldn’t be, if you had the decency to finish your tea after telling me what the bad news are.”

“Of course, you’re right. Your darlings are running out of time, right?”

Simon ergötzte sich wie fast alle alten Menschen, an der Misere der Jüngeren und hatte ebenso die Eigenschaft, lange Monologe zu führen, die nie aufhören wollten. Während die anderen Senioren dem nicht bewusst waren, tat der Avatar dies mutwillig.

Der Ältere presste die Lippen aufeinander und formte ein falsches, fürsorgliches Lächeln, ehe er sich erhob und mittels seines Gehstocks zu Crew schlurfte. „It appears the Spiral has started its ritual. I think it was the Overlook Hotel? Up the Rocky Mountains. It has quite the expansive view. Honestly, it could have been one of our owns. You could fall down forever and-“, als er den zerknirschten Ausdruck des jungen Mannes erblickte, konnte Simon nicht anders als schallend zu lachen und die Schulter seines Gegenübers in vorgetäuschter großväterlicher Manier zu tätscheln.

„You should see the look on your face, Mike! It looks so… human.”, bekundete er belustigt, doch die Farbe seiner hellblauen Iris schien nun stechender, noch bedrohlicher zu leuchten, als er an die Seite des Burschen herantrat.

„I have lost count who entered. You know, being old makes it quite difficult to remember and to care, of course. Dear lord, there were so many! But I guess you might see the sunny one in there if it's not too late already. Him, scarface, the guy who has been marked by the Eye and lots of other people I have seen you hang out with.”, eine gefährliche Stille folgte, die Simon nutzte, um Mikes Mimik abzulesen. Dieser überspielte die Warnung, indem er mit einem gleichgültigem Schulterzucken antwortete und dem Blick standhielt. Simons Züge blieben unverändert, als er dann ein Buch holte, das der Jüngere nur zu gut kannte. Es war jenes Buch, das seine Eltern das Leben gekostet hatte. A Journal of the Plague Year.

„Go and stop the ritual, will you? We can’t let the Spiral have its victory. This nasty little thing could be of help. You know how to use it, right?”

Mike lächelte, als das Buch seinen Weg zu ihm zurückfand und er sich allein wieder jener Entität stellen musste, die ihm diese Narben hinzugefügt hatte.

„You go all out just to teach me a lesson? One might think you actually care about me, Simon.”

Er wartete nicht auf Antwort und eilte sogleich zur Eingangstür. Beim Öffnen erstreckte sich ein unendlicher Himmel unter ihm, welchen er begrüßte, indem er die Fliegerbrille runter schob und sich in die hungrige Tiefe stürzte. Nur einen Wimpernschlag später fand er schon das Overlook Hotel, auf das er wie ein Komet zuraste und dessen Dach durchbrach. Eine wahre Bruchlandung, die in dem Hotelzimmer einen gewaltigen Krater hinterließ. Holzsplitter und Daunen lagen zertrümmert um ihn herum und hafteten an seiner Kleidung, die er mühsam abklopfte, bis er er aus dem Augenwinkel äußerst seltsame Bewegungen wahrnahm. Mike trat langsam näher heran und schob die Tür vorsichtig noch weiter auf, um zu sehen, was es damit auf sich hatte. Er war bereute die Entscheidung zutiefst, da er Zeuge des absoluten Grauens wurde: Ein Mann im Bärenkostüm, der einen anderen Mann im Frack oral befriedigte.

„Denji?” Nein, es konnte nicht Denji sein, dieser würde wenn schon ein Hundekostüm tragen. Die beiden ominösen Männer sahen jihn seltsam und fast schon alarmiert an und ihre Erscheinung hatte etwas bizarres an sich, dass der Avatar die Tür schloss und fassungslos die Fliegerbrille hochschob. Er blinzelte einige Male, rieb sich die Augen und öffnete dieselbe Tür erneut, doch jetzt waren sie verschwunden. Stattdessen hörte er den qualvollen Schrei von Vika, der anscheinend von draußen kam.

Simon hatte tatsächlich nicht gelogen und sie waren wirklich alle hier gewesen. Jeder einzelne von ihnen hatte es mit anderen Manifestationen des Spirals zu kämpfen. Natürlich auch Mike, der jetzt die unzähligen Türen bemerkte, die vorher nicht im Gang existiert hatten. Sie öffneten sich alle synchron und stießen einen Gestank aus, der nur für ihn allein galt. Keine sonderlichen Menschen im Bärenkostüm mehr. Keine toten Mädchen im Flur. Nein, sein Grauen musste selbstverständlich persönlicher werden. Als der penetrante Geruch von Ozon ihn umhüllte, wusste er instinktiv, was sich hinter diesen Türen verbarg und da er hier war, um es aufzuhalten, würde es ihn, den Eindringling, angreifen. Das schmerzhafte Pochen seiner Narben signalisierten ihm nämlich, dass das Ritual nun begonnen hatte.
