Feeling Good

Once upon a crisp winter evening, you arrived home, the familiar scent of pine and cinnamon greeting her as she stepped through the door. The house was a symphony of twinkling lights, festive wreaths, and the warmth of a crackling fire. You blinked, momentarily stunned by the transformation that had taken place while you were at work.

“Nik?” You called out, shedding your coat and dropping your bag by the door.

A smile danced upon your lips as you made your way further into the house, your heart swelling at the sight of Klaus bustling in the kitchen, an apron tied around his waist. He turned, a grin spreading across his face at the sight of you.

“Welcome home, love,” Klaus greeted, his eyes alight with joy. “I hope you don't mind the sudden burst of holiday cheer.”

The aroma of a savory dinner lingered in the air, intermingling with the festive scents that enveloped the house. You stood in awe as you observed Klaus, his focused expression softened by the glow of the kitchen lights. He turned, a smile gracing his lips.

You shook your head, unable to contain your delight. “It's amazing, Klaus. Thank you.”

With a gentle wave of his hand, Klaus directed you towards the staircase. “Go on, freshen up. Dinner will be ready shortly.”

In the comfort of a warm shower, you couldn't shake off the overwhelming feeling of gratitude. You emerged feeling renewed and found Klaus had set the table impeccably, adorned with candles and adorned with elegant holiday-themed decorations. The aroma of a delectable meal wafting through the air.

Klaus gestured towards the dining area, “I thought we might have a special evening together.”

You both sat down to dinner, the air filled with easy conversation and shared laughter. You marveled at Klaus's culinary skills, utterly unaware of it and mentally coming to the conclusion that he’d be cooking every meal. You savored each bite as you both talked about your day, well mainly you since he loved listening to your voice.

As your conversation lulled to a comfortable silence, Klaus rose from his seat, extending his hand towards you with a mischievous glint in his eyes. “Would you care for a dance, my dear?”

Surprised but utterly delighted, you accepted, rising to your feet as he led you to the center of the living room, amidst the glowing lights. The smooth, soulful notes of Michael Buble's Feeling Good filled the room, wrapping around both of you like a familiar embrace. Klaus proved to be a masterful dancer, effortlessly guiding you through dips and spins and graceful movements, the warmth of his touch sending shivers down your spine. Your shared laughter mingled with the music, as though adding to its melody.

You both laughed and twirled, lost in the enchantment of the moment. Klaus's eyes held a softness that you cherished, a silent language that spoke of affection and devotion. With every step, every dip, he seemed to convey unspoken emotions, your hearts beating in unison to the rhythm of the music. In the embrace of the moment, time seemed to pause. You found herself lost in his arms, the world outside the dance floor fading into the background. The touch of his hand against yours, the warmth of his gaze, all of it felt like a beautiful dream.

As the song wove its way to an end, you found yourselves nestled on the couch, limbs entwined in a comfortable embrace. Retreating to the coziness of your shared space, you snuggled beneath soft blankets. Klaus hummed the fading notes of the song, his voice a soothing melody that lulled you into a peaceful state. His fingers tracing idle patterns on your skin as you drifted into a peaceful slumber. Wrapped in the warmth of his arms, you felt safe and cherished, the lyrical melody of 'Feeling Good' becoming a lullaby guiding you into a restful sleep.

In the tranquil serenity of the night, bathed in the soft glow of Christmas lights, you lay in the embrace of love and the enchanting aura of the holiday season, grateful for the simple yet profound joy of being with someone who made every moment feel like a cherished memory.

Snow Angel

The week leading up to my birthday had been an enchanting whirlwind, courtesy of my wonderful boyfriend. Everyday he showered me with gifts, each one more thoughtful than the last. From elegant jewelry to handwritten letters, his efforts left me feeling truly cherished.

On the day of my birthday, we found ourselves in the heart of New York City, the crisp winter air tingling with excitement. He had refused to tell me why we were there or what we were going to do. He had planned a day filled with surprises, and our first stop was at Rockefeller Center. The ice rink glistened under the Christmas lights all around us that gave light to the dark brisk night, inviting us to glide across its frozen surface.

Everything was set and ready to go by the time we reached the rink. I sat down on one of the benches as he helped me put on my ice skates, fastening the strings around my ankles. Once done, I stood up and wobbled until he held me against his firm frame.

“I haven’t been in skates since I was at least 13.” I explained, putting my hands out to balance myself.

He just chuckled and pressed a kiss on my forehead, “It’s quite alright dear, you are adorable.”

I mocked his chuckle and slightly pushed against him. “Just you wait until we’re on the ice Eli, I’ll spin circles around you!”

Unable to walk, I waddled over to the rink’s wall and gingerly placed one foot on the ice then the other. Not a second after, I damn near fell flat on my face. Of course he saw it but being the gentleman that he was, he coughed to hide the laugh that almost escaped. I narrowed my eyes at him and he simply raised his hands up in surrender. Soon he too was on the ice and to absolutely no one’s surprise, he was graceful with each step and glide. I hadn’t even made it ten feet away from the entrance of the rink and he was already in the middle of the ice.

With a smirk, he extended his hand out to me, daring me to meet him halfway. I took in a deep breath and gently pushed off the wall, the razor sharp blades seamlessly cutting through the ice as I moved towards him. With each slide, my confidence slowly grew as did my smile. Huh, just like riding a bike, I thought to myself once I was mere feet away from him. I landed carefully and safely in his arms, proud of myself for even making it halfway. He pressed a chaste kiss on my cheek then led us into a leisurely glide.

Arm in arm, we joined the other couples that were circling the rink. Our pace remained steady and peaceful, I took the time to look around at our surroundings. Everything was covered in snow, the trees, bushes, benches, and even the hot chocolate stands. With the amount of Christmas lights around, I was sure they could power the entire city alone. The middle of ice rink had an enormous Christmas tree that brought shame to every tree within its vicinity. Strings of lights were attached at the top, mistletoes were hung intentionally right above the skaters, and some would stop for a kiss or two. I was drawn out of my trance when he spun me in his arms then pushed away and pulled me back to him. I laughed, his hand securely in mine and pressed my hand against his chest, the joy of the moment overflowed.

He strategically halted right underneath a mistletoe then smiled, his hands switching positions to rest on my neck and cheek. We stood still looking deeply into each other’s eyes whilst the world around us kept spinning. His right thumb stroked cheek before dragging down to my lips, slowly pulling them apart. Mesmerized, I stared at him, lips parted as I waited with bated breath. His other hand firmly held my neck, thumb caressing up and down, his index finger tilted my chin upwards and quickly after, our lips met. My eyes fluttered closed at the same time he sighed against my lips, it was the sort of kiss you’d see in movies and wish for silently.

Pretty soon our tongues were tangled in a heated exchange of dominance and desire. Before I was even aware of it, my back was being lowered until I could feel the lights behind my eyelids. Our lips separated but he still held onto me and that was when I noticed our posture —I was bent in almost a 90 degree angle with my right leg firmly against his body but lifted up as his left hand rested against my thigh, brushing dangerously close to my inner parts. The moment was intimate but soon ended although his kiss promised we’d have more. I stood upright with his help and fixed my slightly disheveled clothes, he just smirked and kissed my hands. Thankfully no one had noticed. In the midst of the laughter and graceful glides around us, something caught my eye: a vast expanse of pristine snow nearby.

“Elijah, look!” I exclaimed, tugging at his hand. “Can we make snow angels, please?”

He arched an eyebrow, the corners of his lips quirking upwards at my childish request. “Snow angels?”

Nodding eagerly, I pointed towards the untouched canvas of fresh snow. “Yes! It'll be fun, I promise.”

With a chuckle, he relented, allowing himself to be pulled towards the open space. We skated past and through everyone, eager to leave before anyone else noticed it. Elijah isn’t one to show off his superhuman abilities unless it’s dire but as far as I was concerned, this was an emergency. He let out a sigh but smiled either way then removed my skates, replacing them with my winter boots in record time. I didn’t even let him finish before I took off towards the snow. I could hear his laughter behind me and soon after he was standing beside me.

I unceremoniously dropped to the ground, moving my arms and legs up and down in unison, creating ethereal imprints in the snow. He stood there and looked down at me, clearly unimpressed but still interested. I stopped for a moment to look up at the vast dark sky littered with stars and the faint glow of holiday lights. With big wide eyes, I stared back up at him and shortly after he too was on the ground next to me.

“You have to flap your arms to make the wings.” I explained since all he was doing was just laying down.

“You’ve got to be kidding me.”

“Please Eli?” I pleaded then added, “It’s my birthday after all.”

“Darling I’ll give you anything, do anything except this.”

“But it’s fun. It’ll also make me happy.”

He sighed and I knew I had won. He always went above and beyond to make me smile, he’d never deny my happiness even if it made him look silly. With slow tentative movements of his arms, he was making oddly shaped wings but that was beside the point. I gestured to his feet and soon, he moved those too as well. I got back to making more snow angels, smiling at the thought of how pretty they’d turn out. I stood up and retrieved my phone from my pocket, taking a picture of the scene. Elijah groaned, knowing with absolute certainty that I was going to send this as a holiday postcard to his siblings and frame it around the house.

After a few more pictures of my perfect angel and his crooked one, plus one stolen photo of him actually making the angel, I laid back down. For a moment we remained there breathing in the wintry air, enjoying the simplicity of the moment. The pure, childlike joy in my eyes was mirrored in Elijah's and I couldn't help but smile at the sight. As we rose from our snow-covered haven, Elijah turned towards me, a mischievous glint in his eyes. Without warning, he playfully tackled me back into the snow, eliciting laughter from both of us. With a playful struggle, I managed to squirm beneath him, our faces inches apart, breaths mingling in the chilly air. His gaze softened, a tender warmth enveloping us as he cupped my face in his hands.

“Happy birthday my love,” Elijah whispered, his lips meeting mine in a gentle yet passionate kiss.

Time seemed to pause, the joyous yet noisy rink filled with people faded into the background as the world narrowed down to just us, wrapped in a moment of shared intimacy and affection. As we untangled ourselves from the snow, cheeks flushed and hearts intertwined, I couldn't have wished for a more perfect birthday. Elijah's thoughtful gestures, coupled with our playful escapade in the snow, created a memory that would forever linger in the corridors of my heart.

i’d totally ship you with Klaus but i could also see you having an on/off again situationship with Elijah. you’re just as intelligent as Eli is so that’s not hard to believe or see but in the long run, you both would want more but for right now, you’ll enjoy each other’s company. now Klaus is your endgame babe, he’s everything you need yet would refuse at first glance. once you’re over the ‘i’m a bad guy’ persona, you two will get on so well, he’s very compassionate, kind, attentive, intelligent, and of course easy on the eyes. he’s not patient at all but that’s okay bc you bring that out in him and in reverse, he makes you spontaneous and daring. you perfectly balance each other. you’re not put off by him murdering others just so long as they deserved it which is a breath of fresh air for him since he’s surrounded by judgy people. you’re able to hold your own but it does help when you name drop him because the look on anyone’s face makes you smirk knowing Klaus will save you and destroy them all with ease.
