Backstory (feel free to skip):

Anaya has always had a soft spot for kids, to be specific streek kids. Orphans and the not so lucky babies of Gotham that ended up in the outskirts of the city. People always loved to report about the chaotic core of the city, a new vigilante every week and the two new villains that came with them.

Where she lived was different, still dark and corrupted but it was more quiet. That's what made it so unbearable, you never knew what was coming. It was a place of abandoned factories and crumbling warehouses. There was always a sense of unease in the air, people called it the shadows edge. Some didn't even count it as part of the city. A forgotten place with forgotten people. Not too long ago children were being snatched off the street, and brought here. for experimentation. The failed ones were left to rot out in the street until the great big Batman finally solved the case. It brought light to how horrible the 'Shadows edge' actually was.

Now to the present, the whole place was being remodelled. Something more homely, propmtly funded by Wayne industries. It frankly did nothing, most of the children didn't survive the treatment and the ones that did live with serious PTSD. Most of the unaffected people living in Shadows Edge would not be able to afford the new houses and would be stuck in low-paying-jobs, then there were the street kids that avoided the whole situation. Most of them were stuck in the shitty systems and others were presumed dead.

They were still street kids, but now they were in unfamiliar streets. Which is basically a decided death in Gotham. And for Anaya, a meta-human, this added a whole lot of shit into her plans. And she was desperate, and it led to desperate measures.

She was orphaned at the age of 8, losing both her parents in a scarecrow incident. It was the only time she had been to the malls and markets. Most of her siblings didn't make it and she was separated from her younger sister. She ran away from every home and orphanage she was put into, they weren't any better from her actual parents anyway. Her father was a workaholic and an alcoholic, not caring much about her or her siblings. Her mother was mostly bed ridden when she wasn't cleaning or cooking, which was barely.

When she was 10 she was chased down and forced to hide into Shadows edge, that's when she ended up finding a group of kids and well...she got too attached.

Appearance:

-Hair: Jet black hair with a touch of purple at the ends.

-Eyes: Deep brown eyes with a perpetual hint of sadness, accented with smudged eyeliner. All her makeup is either stolen or expired

-Clothing: Anaya prefers a blend of vintage and alternative clothing. She often wears oversized band t-shirts, flannel shirts, and ripped jeans. Combat boots or worn-out Converse, again probably stolen. Most of her clothes or upcycled and patch. Some people think it's fashion, it's actually because one of her 'kids' damage or outgrew their clothes. She wears one leather jacket constantly decorated with pins representing everything and everyone she loves.

-Accessories: She sports a small silver locket, the only thing she has of her youngest sister-whom she was closest to- she doesn't let anyone touch it. Her wrists are usually covered with fingerless gloves, those never come off.

Personality:

-Traits: Compassionate, resilient, resourceful, protective, independent, mysterious

-Strengths: -Healing Abilities: She can heal minor injuries and alleviate pain through physical touch, making her an invaluable asset to those in need. For this to be activated it has to be skin-to skin contact. -Pain Absorption: It's what it sounds like, she can provide others with relief by absorbing their pain. Obviously this is very hard on her body and her mind, since she can feel their pain. -Enhanced Abilities + Reflexes: This provides her with easy ways to get out of situation and out of fights. She's faster then most people and has cat like reflexes, excepts with lack of nutrition and healthy environment they aren't exactly 'special' -Empathy/Empathetic connection: can sense the emotions and physical well-being of those around her, meaning not a single lie gets past her. This obviously affects her well-being a lot. If she focuses enough she can read a persons mind, though that always leads her down a dark path so she doesn't tend to. She's also a really good at emotional support. -Resourcefulness: Growing up on the streets wit little to nothing hse managed to use things around her. She makes the most of what she has. -Protective Instincts: Her fierce protectiveness towards the street kids and those in need drives her to go above and beyond to ensure their safety and well-being.

Weaknesses -Emotional Burden: Absorbing the pain and suffering of others can take a significant toll on Anaya, and it has, both physically and emotionally. This can leave her feeling drained and vulnerable, which is why she looks angry most of the time.

-Trust Issues: Her difficult past and experiences have made it hard for her to trust others fully. She often prefers to rely on herself, which can sometimes isolate her from peers. She prefers to befriend younger kids then her peers and her main distrust is with adults. With the means she made money made her almost repulsed by them.

-Overconfidence: Anaya's resourcefulness and abilities can sometimes lead to overconfidence, causing her to take risks that may endanger herself and other, this also leads to recklessness. But only when it comes to herself.

-Past Trauma: The trauma of losing her family and the harsh experiences of her childhood continue to haunt her, occasionally affecting her judgment and emotional stability. It clouds her daily decisions.

-Physical Limitations: While Anaya's healing abilities are powerful, they have their limits. She can only heal minor injuries and alleviate pain to a certain extent, which can be frustrating when faced with more severe cases.

Her Plans:

Protecting Street Kids: Anaya's primary goal is to protect and care for the street kids of Gotham, especially those she already takes care of. She's created a make shift family, working enough and under fake names to even take the youngest ones to school!

Avenge Her Family: Although she doesn't dwell on it, Anaya has a lingering desire to seek justice for her family's death. She knows going after the joker is stupid, so she wants to start smaller. Gangs, thugs take them on from the inside.

Master Her Abilities: Anaya strives to better understand and control her meta-human abilities to maximize her potential as a healer and protector.

She starts off small like she said she would, not gaining any attention really. She slowly started calling herself Seraphine. What will she do when the bats start noticing her?
