i should be asleep. rabbits are incredibly important symbols for tetch — especially white and brown rabbits, as they mirror both the white rabbit and the march hare respectively. he tends to mimic their actions too — such as thumping his feet against the floor or twitching his nose or tilting his head curiously. anytime he sees a white rabbit anywhere ( in real life / on tv / in photos ) he anticipates alice’s return ( since she followed the white rabbit ). when it doesn’t happen he gets real sad about it.
he has a fondness for little creatures such as mice ( seeing as he primarily worked with them as a neuroscientist studying free will and the brain ) and rodents and oftentimes has them at his tea parties. he just picks them up off the street or in alleyways and gives them a home. if he’s not mind controlling them they usually run off ( and though he gets mad about it sometimes ) he lets them, believing that they’re just off to get something or bring something back. he doesn’t really have a good grasp on object permanence when his mind starts to deteriorate so he believes that the mice he keeps finding are the same ones who have just come back.
he’d attempt to get the cheshire involved in his tea parties too, but he’s mildly afraid of cats …

quick admin thinking dump because ,, this has been on my mind for a while and i really wanna explore it : arkhamverse’s jervis serving as a minor baddie as opposed to his mind control tech being the catalyst for the tyger guards / strange’s reign over the city . a few things i wanna touch on here but the thoughts rattling around on my head in the moment are that the riddler knew + comments on it ( which is silly i want them to interact more ) and the mental deterioration of jervis under strange’s influence.
i’ll get to how much i want ed and jervis to interact in other posts but i think doing some diving into how jervis gradually changes and just ends up … mad, for a lack of a better word. like in knight how he’s constantly rhyming as opposed to only doing it as a defense mechanism in the earlier games. or how he’s so out of it that it doesn’t matter who becomes his alice, just as long as someone is. as in he’s had so many people taken away from him when he 'worked' under strange ( even if he barely knew any of the alices strange brought him / even if the alices didn’t want to be there ) , that just one HAS to stay. idk. food for thought.
