Anyways, I Just started reading Changing Currents. I'm studying biology and I love marine and deep sea systems specifically. Anyways, when I read the opening paragraph and the line "stranger creatures who might come up from the darker depths to sample something new that hasn't fallen the long way down to their hunting grounds" I started giggling like an idiot cuz the idea that popped into my head is imo funny and I wanna share it with you in case you'd also find it funny.

There's this shark called the Cookie Cutter shark, which is only about 50cm long. It spends the day in the deep sea and at night, it comes up to the surface and is basically the ocean's nightmare version of mosquitoes. Cuz the lil fuckers find some bigger animal, be it whale, dolphin or a bigger shark, and just. Bite a chunk out of them. Like a cookie cutter out of cookie dough. And then fuck off into the depths again.
