there had been so much commotion at the hospital. police, reporters, people who had claimed themselves close to cami. it had seemed nonstop, a parade of individuals, most of which he had never seen before in his life. and eventually, the necessity had come to vacate the hospital. to return to their homes, or places of business. or wherever else the lot of them liked to spend their time. given that cassio's responsibilities boiled down to who needed drugs and when. his days were relatively open. which had brought him to celestina's place, with a take away bag in hand. " i think nico would shit his pants if he knew how early i woke up for this , " his words came with the lift of the bag. " those ridiculous croissants from that bakery around the way . "

maybe cassio would let the game persist. maybe he'd let his brain turn to absolute mush, and ooze out of his ears. the carpet looked expensive. then again, he knew how it wouldn't have bothered nico. that the man would likely just call in some cleaning crew. hire some interior designer. and cassio would be rolled out with the old carpet. though, maybe he could hope that it'd give nico nightmares. or at least, a nightmare. the thoughts hardly lasted long, when his entire being was being assaulted by ridiculous music at a ridiculous volume. not to mention the absolute horror he saw before him: nico laughing .

the music had suddenly cut off. and cassio was thrown off-kilter. the sudden silence affecting his equilibrium. had the room begun to spin, or was that him? it all seemed out of focus, but he remained how he was. eyes narrowed from behind the shadows of his glasses. with a look on his face that surely spoke to how he'd rather strangle nico. then agree to another opportunity for a delivered breakfast .

but he listened to his cousin's words all the same. even when they strayed to the glasses that still sat perched on his nose. a scoff slipped out, if only because cassio knew he did not look ridiculous. but that certainly hadn't stopped him, from moving his hand to take hold of the glasses. to draw them from his features, and set on his leg. " be glad i showed up at all. take the win for what it is, " he sneered, before he let it slip into a groan. " do more? please, i'm already selling to all the pill popping soccer moms that i can. do you have any idea how demanding these stay at home moms are? " cassio knew it wasn't what nico meant. but who said he couldn't have his fun? " i almost lost a finger dealing with the last one. "

His gaze didn't break from Cassio as he sat waiting for a reaction, willing to withstand the noise until the exact moment his cousin cracked. It was easy enough to do, after all, Nico wasn't the one still hanging out of his ass from the night before. The hilarity of the situation remained subtly visible on his features, if it wasn't obvious at this point: he was enjoying himself.

Hearing his cousin's voice over the music had Nico mouthing 'sorry what was that - can't hear you' his hands intentionally expressive, his right coming behind his ear to cup it, as if he was trying to understand before he threw his hands up in the air, shrugging simultaneously. Actions speaking a thousand words because what the fuck, maybe he was deaf now.

Upon that shouting mention of putting holes in his speaker system he laughed - a clear contrast to the male opposite, a rare sighting above all and the moment his hand reached for the remote and therefore turning off the music, his amusement stopped, expressions entirely back where they belonged. Whilst his own ears adjusted to the sudden silence, he turned his monitor back around.

"If you want breakfast next week, you need to show up on time." which was as simple as that - the blueberries that sat on his desk, however, were free game if his cousin wanted them. He just wasn't going to say as much. This was also Nico telling Cassio this wasn't the only meeting they'd be having. "Take your glasses off, you look ridiculous. I called you here for nine," the time mention was a dig there, if you looked hard enough, "because I'd like you to start doing more." he paused, waiting for a response, waiting to see where Cassio fell with that - not that Nico was offering a choice here.

As we’ve established before, you and Luka have been together for a long time now. You’ve seen him at his weakest, his most vulnerable. You’ve been there for him whenever he needs you, whether he’s sick, overworked, or just having a hard day; you’ve never failed to be by his side. 

Which is why you immediately see through his smooth facade. You know that he’s been struggling recently, the past few weeks have been rough. Nonstop photo shoots, special performances, exclusive interviews….It’s been exhausting for him, and it’s showing. 

Despite his obvious fatigue, no one else seems to care. Eye-bags? Just use extra concealer. Looking pale? Some blush will cover it right up. It breaks your heart to see how others just brush aside Luka’s struggles. You can’t let it slide anymore, so you step in.

“Hey Luka, you feeling okay?”

You approach your weary lover. He’s sitting in a makeup chair in the dressing room. The stylist had already left, so it was just the two of you.

“I’m fine, love. Just a bit tired..”

He gives you a weak fake smile, but you can see right through it. You know he’s lying, so you keep pushing.

“I know that’s not true. Let’s take a break tonight, okay?”

It’s more of a demand than a question. You’re not taking no for an answer, and Luka knows that. 

“Okay. Sounds good to me.”

He gives you a nod, and a quick smile. This time his smile seems more genuine, he’s looking forward to cuddling and relaxing with you later on today.

He then leaves the dressing room and heads off to the photo session. You stay behind the camera, watching your beloved boyfriend pose. You can see that he’s trying extra hard to look presentable. And it’s working for the most part, but you can see past his front. 

After long, uncomfortable hours under the hot photo lights that nearly blind him, the grueling photo shoot is over. He can finally go home and with you, and he’s ecstatic about it. After he’s dismissed, he basically runs up to you. 

He smiles warmly as he hugs you, it’s the first genuine smile you’ve seen during the whole session. 

“Looks like someone missed me~”

You tease him lightly, clearly in a playful mood.

“Oh shut up”

He replies back to you, but there’s no real bite to his words.

You take him home, and as soon as you get to the room he basically collapses onto your shared room. You look down at your exhausted lover with a playful grin.

“You’re not even gonna get changed~? Cause there won’t be any cuddles until you’re in clean clothes.”

You tell him teasingly

He lets out an exaggerated sigh, then gets changed into pajamas.

“Am I worthy of your cuddles now?”

He asks you after changing. Luka is now wearing some pajamas, a baggy shirt and some shorts. Nothing fancy, just comfy and breathable.

“Yes, now you are~”

It’s not much longer that you essentially tackle him to the bed with you. You hold him to your chest and play with his hair.

“Thanks love, I really needed this.”

He says thankfully while looking up from your chest, a small yet sincere smile plastered on his face.

“Of course Luka. Let’s get some sleep now, okay?”

You kiss his forehead and then you both fall asleep almost instantly. 

Luka doesn’t have anything else tomorrow, so you both sleep in. You wake up at 9, and Luka wakes up at 1pm. He certainly needed the sleep, didn’t he~?
