My hot take: That one phighting NSFW headcanon blog should not exist and there is something inherently wrong about it that I think reflects a deeper problem within the community.

Phighting characters are not our playthings to do with as we please. We do not have the right to take someone's children and hard work and sexualize it to an extent where it's tolerated within the community without creator consent.

Now, if the creators of Phighting have given consent to this then let me know; however as far as my knowledge is they never voiced anything of that sort.

When people create characters (in general) it's like putting pieces of yourself together into a small creature you can name and provide lore for. By sexualizing Phighting characters we're literally taking bits and pieces of the creators and twisting it into something I doubt they ever wanted.

The phighting fandom in general has always been a little silly, and there's a lot of people who relate to some of the characters on a deeper level. There is nothing wrong with relating to a character or providing small head canons to fill in for canonical gaps.

However, when it gets to the point where people are under the impression they can do whatever or project anything onto these characters is where you'll cross a line. Despite this perceived 'familiarity' we shouldn't forget that these are set characters that belong to real people who have real goals and stories set for these characters; it's not our place in any right to ignore explicit canon.

A canonical fact is that [phighting] demons don't have genitalia. There is no biological drive to have sex or engage in anything remotely similar. While obscure canon like this is typically ignored, it shouldn't be so blatantly disregarded as to break moral / creator boundaries.

The fact that there's a whole account dedicated to this kind of behavior is worrying. It practically screams the message that, "hey, this fandom has an outlet where you can voice sexual content anonymously and it'll have a chance to be listened to." I won't be the one to condemn anyone there but those kinds of headcanons should stay in your head.

The general audience of phighting is also quite young and we would all hate for phighting to become the reputably 'bad' fandom despite all the questionable content that's already been spewed.

Hello! It’s me Yapgraft, if you recognize me from Phighting Hot Takes. Specializing in yappery of art, Phighting, and any that interests me really!

I chose the name Yapgraft because Biograft’s my favorite phighter and (frankly) didn’t have an idea of what to name myself so I chose the first thing that came to mind (plus it’s my mod name for Phighting hot takes anyway so I just rolled with it)

Honestly I suck at Phighting! (Alpha), but I can be seen playing as Biograft or Medkit when I’m on (they’re also my favorites along with others)

okay but seriously, i main vine and I usually help ONLY the newbies on my team because… that level 570 katana is already on the other side of the map in a 4v1. the level 419 banhammer is spawncamping the enemies. i Will let the level 3 rocket that managed to slip through kill me so they feel better about my teammates being scum.

I hate it when people say Blackrock doesn't have decent food or have no culture at all. ''They're all to busy doing work for Blackrock to have a culture'' BITCH THERES A THING CALLED WORK CULTURE TOO. As long as there's people/demons there's going to be a basis for how they would interact with each other ''oh it's too cold to grow food there'' ??? THERES STILL A DECENT FOOD SOURCE IN COLD PLACES?? REINDEER. BIRDS. FISHES. FUCK MAYBE EVEN PENGUINS, SEALS AND WHALES SINCE THEY PROBABLY ARENT ENDANGERED IN THEIR WORLD AND IS A PROBABLE FOOD SOURCE. ASSUMING THEY DONT WASTE ANY PART THEY GET ENOUGH NUTRIENTS. They don't need to grow food to have some food. They could just hunt yk yk. Still, as much as fun to think Blackrock's region is all ice snow and rock I do want to think it's more like ''our climate cold af and our winters long and horrible but we do get summer long enough tbh'' bet their wheat and other grains is genetically engineered to be more resistant to the cold, I just searched it up and it turns out Rye is most resistant to the cold so I guess Blackrock has Rye as one their most common grain. Secondly I believe their food are PACKED with nutrients. Made to only take a small bite or two and giving you an energy boost to get trough the day, some come with a LOT of flavour some too bland, but the richer you are the more flavor choices you got. I wanna believe Blackrock makes insane bread. Bread with cheese. Bread with nuts . Bread with berries and nuts. Bread so sweet it should be dessert. Bet they bank on sandwiches too. Bet they could make grilled cheese that can kill you. I'm not forgetting demons don't need to eat but they can still want. And I'd like to think of reasons why. As funny as it is, it also feels so lazy to just say "yeah their food bland af haha" about Blackrock man

A lot of these are actually good points (and I love world building backed up by real world phenomena and whatnot!!).

I could see how “the government would want to waste resources on making actually good food for their population so it’s all over processed tasteless bars” could be an excuse but… they literally don’t need to eat. Eating in that sense would just be more of a want. Why waste resources manufacturing products that people literally don’t want,,

Honestly, seeing how their faction is portrayed (in both fan and canon material), I would say that their (work) culture would be something to the effect of the work culture of modern South Korea/Japan (with the whole thing about cram schools, insanely brutal work culture, and ALL HAIL SAMSUNG) with European influences here and there because I hc that.

But yeah that”s my two cents sorry if that went a little bit more hc-y

The fact that people are choosing to harass and get more mad at Soda, despite Coil having resolved things with her in private, accepted her apology, and even asking people to not harass Soda, instead of getting more angry at the people who are doxxing and who caused Coil to get SA’d just proves they don’t care about the victims and only want to bring up old drama and harass themselves. We lost the plot.

I’m surprised no one’s really mentioning the actual doxxers in this situation. Just please support the victims involved and try creating a better environment!!

I don’t like Zukaheart

It makes me uncomfortable and I don’t think Darkheart would be a good partner not to him or to anyone, I didn’t like it before the extra lore and I especially don’t like it now

It also kind of makes swocket psuedo incest given Zuka-darkheart (rocket) darkheart is (basically)brothers with venomshank and venomshank is Sword’s father / mentor

yeah ZukaHeart is actually one of those ships I never actually got. Maybe they could be weird beer dads at a barbecue meetup (or whatever they’re called) who banter about baseball and politics at best, but I don’t see them as romantic.

and the pseudo-incest is actually really good point (it obviously isn’t directly that but still it’s still a tad weird looking at it form that lens)

im a beginner and like..not the best at phighting but there was one person in the chat that made me cry because they kept calling me trash and told me to leave </3 maybe i'm overreacting idk shrugs

HOMESTLY THIS IS SO REAL

Idk what I have but I somehow get really insecure/anxious/whatever whenever I play multiplayer online combat games (ESPECIALLY with people who I don’t know and/or are clearly better than me). As a person who’s not able to play it frequently and is pretty beginner level with skill (and uses mobile), I actually sometimes hop servers because there’s clearly a pro level 500+ player in there that’s dominating when I just wanted something to enjoy to pass the time.

It really is a skill issue on my part, but how the phyck am I supposed to get over it when I feel like I can’t even enjoy the game without feeling anxious?? wtf??

Sorry for dumping uh that’s my (checks bill) two dollars and a quarter.

it's perfectly fine to use she/her pronouns on the he/him phighters but the minute i use he/him pronouns on scythe and vinestaff suddenly it's an issue

Wait abuser? Nothing so far states that Subspace abused Medkit. We know that they don’t like each other and that a disagreement caused them both to lose an eye and Subspace is now rotting. Where did the abuse come from is there something I missed here?

Not highly abusive per se (as with their relationship being “toned down”), but it’s still not a relationship I wanna deal with that’s for sure

My two personal cents and a half is that Subkit could be and is interesting if you view it from a (toxic at that) romantic lens. I personally do not ship it (and don’t plan on doing so), but I do not mind it if you ship it, even if you have to be a tad ooc about it (exceptions apply of course). As long as you aren’t being insufferable about it, it’s alright.

(Even though this is definitely not what their relationship is) it’s called toxic doomed yaoi for a reason. It was never meant to work out, and that notion could be interesting if used correctly by fans. It’s just a lot of them make things very ooc for both of the characters involved, not recognizing that both of them (yes both of them, that’s my hot take) are flawed as both a result of their dystopia faction and just from the fact that people (in effect Inphernals) aren’t perfect and don’t always work out. It’s just a matter of fact of dwelling on that memory or finding other cool things in this very cool world. There’s not a perfect answer as to how to go about it, but any sort of action will result in some other lines of events that could be interesting to show. That line of events—no matter what choice the characters decided to do—is what you’re to analyze and show as a (fan)writer/artist/whatever you are).

But hey that’s already all the money I got out from under the vending machine, so yeah that’s all.

There’s a lot of questions that can be brought up about the demon biology.

How do they use the bathroom if they don’t have genitals? If they can’t eat, how come Slingshot owns a cafe? How would they get nutrients otherwise? Are they all plant-based and they photosynthesize?

We know that demons are spawned from the fountain, either randomly or by two demons using their gear. How does that work? Why is it only applicable to regular demons and not the deities? Does that imply the deities have genitals? More importantly, what causes demons such as Voidstar to be created? Are there any other disabled demons who were born disabled and not just had a limb blown off or something?

Ok I got a little off track there lol. Just wanted to yap and maybe share theories with other people

I really don’t like how all the phighters get layers upon layers of personality + lore, but the NPCs can all be summed up in a single sentence or less.

Maybe I’m missing something, but as far as I’m aware, Pwnatious is the stereotypical snobby rich guy, Traffic is stoned just chill, Ghosdeeri is just mysterious, etc. That’s it? Come on!

Honestly I just think that a lot of their lore is under wraps (talking about the npcs).

Don’t worry. I’m sure It’ll be released with time, I swear on all 18,543 of Subspace’s diseases.
